I struggle to see how you come to that conclusion... those of us already following the game continue to get early access thanks to leaks, those searching by top rated games will still come across it and upon checking will discover it's still in active development, those who discover the game elsewhere and search for it here to pirate it will find it easy to do so. All that's really taken away is passive blind discovery, including both new pirates and potential new supporters. The anti piracy crowd might scoff at the suggestion of 'potential new supporters' but there's simply no denying the fact that a number of people who regularly visit this thread both discovered the game via this website and have given it monetary support to some degree at some point, so they certainly exist, even if you choose to think of them as dismissable minority. The impact of day-1 leaks is still as present now as before the game was removed from the promotion system as anyone who was already benefiting from those leaks still knows how and where to benefit from them...

If this is a win on any level then i'll just quietly chuckle to myself whenever someone brags about it.
The effect is a reduction in the rate of new pirates. If less people see the game on the latest updates page, less will be attracted to this thread. Less people attracted to this thread means less piracy, which is exactly what Sel wanted. Passive blind discovery is the reduction of piracy in this case and, as far as supporters, have you not seen where the game is at in terms of income? The latest active goal on SubscribeStar, meaning the latest one not met yet, is to reach the ludicrous amounts gained by another game just because why not. We are well beyond the point of needing new blood in the subscriber pool. In fact, new subscribers could even be detrimental because all tiers give access to requests at this point and that means time needed to work on them that he has to take either out of personal time or game development time, both options having a severe potential negative impact.

What kind of adult company has the legal resources to do that? I get disney or nintendo, but you know the big guns ain't gonna dabble with porn lol:ROFLMAO:
It depends, the game got a pretty big spotlight. Japanese companies definitely won't touch it, there's a stigma on porn of any kind, but western ones could. There is no cultural stigma here and western companies tend to be dangerously greedy when it comes to money. For a western example, look at what CBS did to the rules regulating the making of fan projects for the Star Trek franchise, it basically killed the fan project market entirely and all because one bad apple was violating copyright laws by stepping outside of fair use through making direct profit.

Good point, I hadn't even considered that. I count Fakku as one of these and they have a history showing interest in Illusion products.

Yeah, honestly, if you give half a shit about these extras you can see about 90% of what's on offer just by looking at the files directly, and the other 10% is just dialogue written in Renpy script. I get you might want the authentic experience but if you're so thirsty for it then just follow the guide.

Personally wish the damn things didn't exist just so we wouldn't have a slow but constant trickle of folks stumbling in asking about them. If they were even remotely worth it i'd happily put up with it but they're not, so it's just fuckin' annoying.
They wouldn't exist if subscribers actually got their benefits, which the leaks prevent since, well, the leaks effectively are the benefits now being given to non-subscribers. It isn't exactly a subscriber benefit if everyone is getting it, so Sel made these to try and give us back something exclusive which he would then allow free users paid access to later. Essentially, if everyone just waited two weeks for free or paid for the early access, these wouldn't exist.

Lol, the day Selly is satisfied with the amount of supporters he has is the day pigs fly. Also, i laid out how new pirates will have next to no trouble in the vast majority of cases but you just side stepped that as though it wasn't 95% of my point about how it's no tangible victory. As i said before, the group most affected by this pyrrhic 'victory' contains most if not all potential new supporters so it's also a hilarious example of an own goal. The pirates will do just fine.

Dude, i've been here for a very long time now, i know why they exist, my point was they're annoying because they're not worth it, if they were then i wouldn't find it annoying to have randoms regularly rockin up asking how to subvert the DRM.

It's good to see you again Alex, watching you do mental gymnastics has always been entertaining and i'm looking forward to the ones you'll do in response to this post too. :)

I think one of the big reasons why there are not more subscribers, is because this game is completely unplayable without progression mod, which updates with public release.

It’s quite interesting to learn about the range of things that unsettle people.

For me the scary Maya face and Nao-chan drawing are more like just UHM materials; but it's pretty much because at this point of the game I am treating anything eerie like case studies, trying to move closer to the screen and see if I can learn something
(as long as they don't move toward me too quickly I think I can manage xD)

In the traditional scary sense, any scene blasting with enough smiles for me is plenty scary, typically those in the earlier chapters when I wasn’t as mentally ready. Things like:

(seriously when it comes to scary, nothing beats smiles that you can’t comprehend)

The one event that overloads all my sensory and I actually found myself moving a few inches back is Turn Off The Lights. The whole event creeps me the fuck out and that ten seconds of strobe light plus static sent me off the edge (I think Selly toned this event down later in some updates, but still this event is something I refuse to replay)

Another event that didn't scare me but gave me a shit ton of goosebumps is Bluejay; not because Makoto jumped, but because you realized, even before her free fall finished, that this suicide would be corrected to never had happened. The “you’re not allowed to choose the easy way out” feeling fucked me up so much.

Personally, the only thing that creeped me out in this game is the Nope Maya face initially:

and that was mostly because it was like a silent jump scare for those paying attention. Then it's just completely ignored. It's worn off now.

I also saw the Old One coming from the moment Nao-chan showed the drawing, so it was like "neat" instead of scary for me.

Besides that, I'm usually more curious than anything. I think Molly's stuff has made me the most uncomfortable though. Whether it's wondering whether Sensei will rape her, or if she'll rape Rin, or if Tsuneyo's comedy routine about Molly will be taken seriously, I find myself conflicted on whether I want to keep going or take a break when it comes to Molly related events, initially. Kirin's events with Ayane are in second place when it comes to stuff like that.

Monsta John and the White Fronted Parrot stuff did have me going:

though. 'The Scary Room' as well, to a lesser extent.

Yeah, sadly at this point I just look at the code every update to find out how to get to the events. I highly doubt most people would bother going that far.

I'm not sure how others feel about it, but I still feel, not exactly creeped out, but definitely concerned by the 'Good boy' Happy Event:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Just the whole thing is disturbing.

Whether it's what's shown like the roaches or Sekai's creepy smile, or what's implied with Sekai apparently molesting an injured Sensei after offering him a "piggyback" ride, and getting his blood in her hair. Then it's followed up by the Long Maya and Moyo stuff who ask questions like effed up therapists.

I think the only reason I find the Molly stuff more uncomfortable is that I know it's far too late to worry about what Sekai might do. The damage is done.

Well I put some LiL character cards in Koikatsu and got with some of my favorite characters from the story and rather than it being nice it instead felt wrong. Like these characters feel developed enough that I felt like I was taking advantage of their likeness :cry: would not recommend

It was an event that solidified the parallels between Sara and Sensei in my mind.

Both were molested by their teachers;
Both were introduced pretty early in their lives to sexual stuff;
Both had difficult household circumstances;
Both had (have) severe self-esteem issues;
Both suffer from psychosis/hallucinations;
Both have high libido;
Possibly Sara and Sensei are related through Nozomu;
Among other things.

Honestly, the event's game show had a weird emphasis on Sensei's relationship with Sara, where the Mayas were seemingly probing him on behalf of someone. There, Sensei got asked about his thoughts on this relationship; and where it might be going. Also, the fact she was instantly
profoundly attracted to him is slightly intriguing.
The fact that I remember someone mentioning Selebus was very excited to write Sara's purity route, indicates she might have a greater impact in the story than previously thought, despite being a side character (something she even talks about, if I'm not mistaken. Mentioning she's a side character and something else). Also, two of her "themes", the normal and the happy / altered, are "sidecharacter" and "maincharacter" respectively.

All in all, a pretty interesting event and one of my favorite ones.

One thing to note as well, she and Sana were present in Lamb Legs.

Man reading all of this made me realize that Sara might be one of the characters who has ulterior motives. Or maybe when she blacks out Nozomu makes her do dirty work for him or something like that. Maybe all of the angels are just normal people who blacked out.

Thankfully, my love of Imani in scandalous situations removes any guilt I may have felt.

I definitely think Sara is far more important than the game wants to make clear, especially after 'Goodnight':
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
It seemed like the 1st (The light) god and the 2nd (The dark) god are talking to her together there.

Later on she seems implied to be some sort of winged angel thing:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
after the 3rd god (Pareidolia) helped Sana, in 'Ad Infinitum'

An angel thing like that, shows up with Nao in 'Mother's Milk':
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
and I think Sara and Maya both show up in 'Mother's Milk':
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

I'm also thinking Sara is one of the other guests that shows up on the Untitled show:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Of course, there's also how she shows up in 'Lamb Legs', which was apparently a weekly thing for her:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

So, I'm not entirely sure what's going on with her, but it seems important.
