Like listening some J-rock and J-pop in general. Sakurazaka46 for example.
Like watching some romcoms, comedies, etc.
Sakurazaka46 aren't contributing to any anime ost's, are they?. While listening to it i wouldn't be surprised if they do.
I'm not really versed in east asian music, like the x.pop things outside of ost's, like "Myth and Roid", " Yōko Kanno" etc.

Romcom's/Comedies often provide some nice to watch material.
I do like to watch Rom-,Comedies.

I listen
Also this:
People like i, know and like "Bloody Roots!"

No you didn’t miss anything. I went back the whole Ch4 and several relevant characters’ events as soon as I caught it, but I found nothing about Akira or a certain third person revealing that name to Rika.

Considering the fact the same happened to Osako as well (she referred to him as Sensei in In Regard to Peony, but used the name Akira by the end of foursome, and no one batted an eye), I am guessing that his name has become a common but untold knowledge amongst the dive bar friend group off screen, presumably during his coma. Rika/Osako simply learned it from Imani/Wakana, as I can’t imagine the former two just knew it the whole time somehow or decided to do thorough searches on their own after he was bedridden.
I'm leaning this way too, that they just naturally found out through talking with the rest of their group. That being said, people learning his real name has always been a bit of an important moment in their interactions with him, so this feels a bit cheap..

It's a shame he's no longer here nor on good terms with any of the community because it would be nice to know if it was a minor mistake or intended. That being said, it would require Sel to acknowledge the fact he can make mistakes and I feel like his head has gotten a bit too big for that with his discord of sycophants. Shame.

Finishing up my last update replay and got to this:

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
I would like to treat Sel with good faith here and try to strongman his position but no.I believe that Sel is just cocky and he has started to make mistakes(Take for example this or back in the dorm wars where Nodoka wanted to flex on Io using with the Ethanol question and plenty other ones that im too stupid to catch since i havent replayed the game yet).

In short i stand by my opinion that discord is a mistake and in this case Sels ego has grown a bit too much due to his discord members being worm-like bootlickers.

If true what a huge let down. When Akira and Wakana had dinner back in Ch3, I at the time thought it was a great opportunity for him to tell her and was really bummed it didn't happen. And now for it to just be causally known, lame. I bet Sel would say its obvious Wakana found it out during her research. I wonder why she still calls him Arakawa?

I totally missed it being mentioned after the foursome, and the first time I played 42.

Also, didn't the bar unlock after the foursome?

I had nothing against him doing the care packages, that said, DRM aside.
It was an ok decision to honor his patrons in a business way of thinking.

But him crawling on his knees and begging for moony, for the bonus anims, which are kinda bland, if not stock, feels like he tanked at the stock market or something worse and needs the money.

I enjoyed the care packages. My favorite parts were the love journal that we have waited I think over a year for a new part, and the character info sheets. + the beach Maya screen I still use as my main one. I like the outfits as well.

Yeah the new bonus aminations have really frustrated me since he hasn't delivered the two care packages he promised this year that I already paid for and he cut in story stuff for them. Bah, I need to let this go. Not ready to yet I guess. :)

As i said i had nothing against the Care Packages as a business model and to counter the pre official releases.
Though, i took a look into them for the event commentaries.
And i gotta say, that his claim that they would not hold any story relevant info, that was not true.
Because they did, maybe not directly, but indirectly.
Left a "funny taste in my mouth"

Broken announcements aside.
Packages were not my thing to begin with.

For all you peeps that have seen the care packages, are they worth it? Cause ive been thinking of checking them out but going through the hoops of disabling DRM sounds like a pain

Really, only you can accurately answer that for yourself. As a guide though, are you the sort of person that would watch the special features on a DVD or Blu-Ray of a film or TV show? If you are then you may, (I emphasize may) find them worth it. If not then you are probably not missing anything.

I am glad I got them. I liked most of the extra stuff. I forgot about the commentaries, they were interesting.

I mean im not but if the process of removing DRM is easy then why not?

As i implied, they do hold some story relevant info.
Not as in x is y or something, but by the commentaries, you are at least able to exclude some things.
Thats what i got from looking into about three of them.
They do hold something like a: from Uta: Into Sensei love tier list or something that people got wild about?
Besides, for others, did they have wizardry stuff in them?
All i remember is the fallout that led to Sel's excommunication here.

They don't know his name right? Am I forgetting something or is this an error? Some kind of world change thing that happened during the weird beach event?
I think Imani may have heard Niki use his name when they were first introduced or when she was getting her back blown out for 5 hours straight. As for Rika I have no clue how she knows Sensei's name. Rika wasn't around when Otoha blurted it out to Nodoka. So i guess this can be chalked up to be a continuity error.

Nah, he just got used to living on $10k a month income in 2020-2021, but unfortunately, that same $10k in 2024 buys a hell of a lot less of just about everything.

I agree. I don't mind this particular development that much but this surely is diluting the initial impact we had when the name was first revealed, but I guess that impact slowly died down anyway when he started dishing his name out.

And it feels even more sloppy when that Rika event starts with:

meanwhile some chaotic hot MILF also knows your name unannounced, just btw. :cautious:

I bet Wakana always knows but I can't say for certain. But no matter when she knew, Wakana sticks to Arakawa possibly because of 1) work ethics, 2) no real reason to be on the first-name basis with him, and 3) the continuation of his initial "bad joke" of asking her to also call him Sensei back in Ch2. Besides, I think Wakana still referring to him as just Arakawa is...kinda cute in her own way.

On the wakana thing. Can it be that Wakan has done the mental gymnastics that Sekai called him Akira or anything connected with it so she calls him Arakawa to avoid accidentaly stepping on a mine? Shes smart enough to know and kind enough to do so imo

Less likely. Wakana wouldn't be able to figure out that calling him certain names is one of THE ways that can temporarily break him just by reading Sekai's poems (if anything, I'd instead avoid calling him Arakawa with this logic since that is the shared last name among him and his abuser).

Even if avoiding say the name Akira in front of him was her agenda, Wakana would surely instruct Osako to do the same as well, but that apparently wasn't the case according to the whole foursome arc.

tbh I wonder what his total income is when you factor in the annual pass stuff and merch

i guess it always feels weird to see ppl asking for money but the dev is in a sort of position where unless he does exactly that, he'll just end up slowly losing money (if not due to subscriber loss, then due to inflation - this dude does not get any annual raises or refreshers)

also wonder how many subscribers he could have obtained if he:
1) didn't piss off f95
2) didn't rework the intro sequence to be so damn off-putting: the Ami scene is just way too in-your-face imo. from what I remember of playing the original, it was a mystery that slowly builds up to that
3) listened to community feedback about ppl disliking the gameplay and puzzles: i think he views them as essential for immersion or something? either way, it seems like there's a near-unanimous consensus on them being shit
4) increased the quality of sexual content instead of dropping animations - for instance, he could integrate animations in the game itself instead of only having them in the repeatable events. i think the majority of ppl that find this game organically are looking for porn so it makes sense to cater to that
5) capped the word count to like 30-40k per update (~1.5-2 hours of content) and focused on making it tighter/more focused
Sel would make bank off of merch alone if he was smart with it and updated the merch store of course. But he also kind of shot himself in the foot since LiL doesn't really have any licensed products. He can't sell vinyls because he uses unlicensed music and I don't know if he would be able to sell anything with the casts faces on it since they are technically Illusion's assets. Sel has mentioned wanting to do stuff like hoodies, mousepads, body pillows, physical stickers, and a poetry book of the poems from the game. But if he were able to start selling official Lessons in Love body pillows for like $80 dollars I know there would be a line of horny degenerates throwing money at him for a chance to cut a hole in a body pillow of their favorite girl. Also the merch store is just bland with just the smile shirt, the shirt that says shirt on it and the Maya shirt. No hoodies, no jackets, no swag, no drip, no nothing its just bland. Sel is a good writer but his marketing is cheeks.
