Creative types' view of online piracy is rarely... strategic. Or rational. I understand it from that side--I've made my living mostly through by sales of copyright-protected media. Watching stuff I'd spent hundreds or even thousands of hours on be freely shared without my consent? Maddening. Gut-wrenching. Enraging. It amazes me how such an intelligent and smart person can be so shortsighted and greedy
Thanks, I'll wait for the 0.45 one to come outInstall the Guide Mod. The saves will work after that.

The screenshot is from the children's TV show and the stage was lit. The hanging pair of legs are unlit in the background, which makes them look darker. Actually, Tsuneyo's legs would probably look even darker, even under studio lighting, if that makes sense.I'd wager that's Tsuneyo based on color and proportions. It could be Nao but I don't think she's ever been used as a ragdoll in the background before.
DRM is more likely to encourage piracy than discourage it, as people will FLOCK to a code-broken version of the title.DRM is completely useless, and just makes your fans/supporters grumpy
there is another important difference between what you point out and selebus' work. People aren't stealing his product, they're stealing his monthly early access to it, he himself gives away his product for free each month, just a bit later.Creative types' view of online piracy is rarely... strategic. I personally withdrew my support over his antics, specifically. I kept my support through his constant grousing about the leaks, but the mass reporting and DRM were the line for me. If that hadn't happened, he'd still be collecting $5/month from me.To the point, it's far more damning to alienate piracy users in his case because you're also alienating potential supporters. His is not a finished product, it is far more important to create a vocal supportive community (paying or not) than to combat (pointless since it won't yield anything anyway) piracy. And even if most of these people never support him, I can safely guess that a lot of them would be willing to pay for the final product after so many years. The only reason why they might not be is because of Selebus' behavior tbh.
Also, in my experience, pirates take DRM as a challenge.DRM is more likely to encourage piracy than discourage it, as people will FLOCK to a code-broken version of the title.
Definitely. Add to that his extremely questionable right to use the basis for his art (even though he's modified every image a lot) and the whole thing looks silly and more than a bit hypocritical.there is another important difference between what you point out and selebus' work. People aren't stealing his product, they're stealing his monthly early access to it, he himself gives away his product for free each month, just a bit later.
From that point of view, it's even more pointless to combat piracy, since you're not even struggling against people taking your precious product for free, just the notion that they're taking away the privilege of those that support you. So, really, everyone that "steals" his early access pass each month is still a potential supporter for years to come, since, again, it's a month to month deal.

I'd say Miku. She's been TPosed already not so long ago, with lots of copies of her.The screenshot is from the children's TV show and the stage was lit. So I am 99.9% sure this is neither from Tsuneyo, nor from Nao (or Imani for that matter).
I'm actually not sure if Sel even uses models that differ somehow from the knees down in terms of shape or looks. I guess you might be able to differentiate Futaba, but the rest I imagine would look pretty much identical, at least without anything right next to them for reference in size.
So I find it hard to say. Personally I don't even think it's supposed to show someone T-posing but simply hanging from a noose, therefore I just assumed it would be some variant of Maya.
Sincerely,
Feet Expert
i promise im not :sob: im just sick of how strict the lilcord is, cant talk about shit without someone getting sus of you.*Spy for Sel spotted*

The flip side of that is that the people pirating LiL are basically saying they can't wait two weeks and just get it for free then, which is a state of mind that I would associate with a child, not an adult.there is another important difference between what you point out and selebus' work. I see you're not familiar with the f95 Lil forum lost mediaWhile scrolling through itch.io I thought I saw Sensei and thought Sel updated the game on itch.io. But what I saw was a gay visual novel with a protag that looks scary similiar to Sensei and its the funniest thing as a LIL fanYou don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Is it? by that line of interpretation, all of LiL's supporters could be considered children with money then, as they don't have enough patience to wait for the aforementioned two weeks, and instead pay for the early access - even though it is leaked minutes after release.people pirating LiL are basically saying they can't wait two weeks and just get it for free then, which is a state of mind that I would associate with a child, not an adult.
Not really, if this site did not exist I still would not pay for the game, I would just wait the two weeks. As it happens this site does exist so I can get it earlier. The flip side of that is that the people pirating LiL are basically saying they can't wait two weeks and just get it for free then, which is a state of mind that I would associate with a child, not an adult.
You know, when devs with a steady release schedule ask me to wait until their embargo period is over, I generally do. Costs me nothing. Is it? by that line of interpretation, all of LiL's supporters could be considered children with money then, as they don't have enough patience to wait for the aforementioned two weeks, and instead pay for the early access - even though it is leaked minutes after release.
or, one could also say that someone that doesn't play the leaked version, and instead chooses to wait for the official release has the need to prove to who knows who that they're better than pirates, which could also be called childish if coming from a position of bragging about it.
Any of these is a rather narrow and poor generalization imo though, people are more complicated than that. My official stance is that I support anyone that wants to and can support Selebus, as I wish to see this game finished. I see any kind of generalization, including calling them childish, as a sub-optimal path to achieve that result.
If they can and want to support him, good. If not, they'll always be welcome to discuss the game here without judgements as to how they're getting their hands on it. As I said before, any player is a potential supporter because this is month to month, and Selebus was dumb to not capitalize on that, rather than try to fight piracy and end up alienating them (and also his prior or soon to be prior supporters through his antics).
