Yumi and Kaori
Even though Pareidolia implied that Kaori herself "knew a good amount" due to her circumstances, my thought is the same as yours, that the Kaori who spoke to Yumi in that alt timeline wasn't Kaori herself, but most likely Pareidolia or at least something else other than her. This idea is powered by several other factors such as the high relevancy to the recently revealed information about Pareidolia and Kaori, Pareidolia's "preexisting acquaintance" with Yumi, Kaori at the scene suspiciously not speaking alien, and suspiciously not wearing her Halloween outfit (though the last one might be excusable).

However, Pareidolia as an viable option here is merely the result from a process of elimination after going over the divine roster and using motive/incentive as filters, as mechanistically I am not sure how anything that involves Pareidolia would've worked now. Should a god of one timeline know something its other self had learned in another timeline? Should a god that got thrown back to the Well in one timeline remain operational in another timeline? Or perhaps that's a-okay as long as the timepoint is prior to the fateful X-day?

One last thing to point out tangentially related to this: Alt Maya Prime is told that a reset is coming that she can't feel and decides to go off to do something. At the same time, she's also told that Yumi has a cousin named Kaori who knows about the resets and knows that one is coming. And yet, she doesn't seem to react to this information at all. Does this Maya know something about Kaori? Is that the actual reason she leaves? For now it's just a possibility to keep in mind for the future.
I am guessing Alt Maya here wasn't really not responding to the name Kaori, but chose to respond to what she supposedly knew and thus alerted her the most. My take is that Alt Maya also didn't know the existence of Kaori, and couldn't care that much anymore after being informed about an allegedly incoming reset that flew under her radar.

and of course Pareidolia knows Yumi by another name - probably not Friend, but they could have a prior relationship.
It'd be very interesting if Yumi and Kaori in this timeline reunited early and became more acquainted than the pair was in the main timeline, and ultimately became the reason why Pareidolia knew Yumi by a different name. Even if this may not be anywhere close to what've happened in the alt timeline, the thought of Pareidolia learning about Yumi through Kaori is interesting enough. Because if that was true, I am afraid the other name Pareidolia knew won't be just another Japanese name or cringy god-related title; it's gonna be dumb shit like "Yumiburger of glossy sight balls"

Anyway, I still don't understand why Rin, Futaba, and Yumi were named with those God-related adjectives? It was during the first beach trip, I believe. Do we have an answer?

As of now we have no clue. But what we do know is both Rin and Futaba have some sort of connection to the Room With Clocks and Rin has been shown to be somewhat aware of the the time loops. There just a lot we don't know. More so Rin than Futaba since she has shown more "RFTAS feats" and then there's the whole debacle with her biological mom. Which makes me think she too (Rin's bio-mom) got her "wings clipped" considering what we know about Nodoka and Kyoko.

Maya/Makoto/Ayane all pingponged from 'I really don't like these people to 'wow i reallly like this people to 'nvm i still don't like these people

Makoto specifically I liked at first and now i just aint into her at all.

Ayane went from 'I hate this to 'i don't mind this' back to i hate this'

Maya builds value the entire time and things happen but alot of characters just outshine her despite her narrative.

Example, Touka is someone i thought i would hate because oh no generic rich girl but is probably top 3/5 after seeing so many other characters get introduced and fleshed out.

*cough Wakana/Yumi/Niki/Touka/Rin* is my latest.

Also double posting like a clown and quoting myself from over a year ago but damn....

Makoto and Ayane bringing it back around. Maya getting a shittonne of development. I don't think my top 5 changes though.

I personally withdrew my support over his antics, specifically. I kept my support through his constant grousing about the leaks, but the mass reporting and DRM were the line for me. If that hadn't happened, he'd still be collecting $5/month from me.
Yep, I am afraid many people share this sentiment. It‘s not even playable without the guided mod, so many people inevitably stumbled upon this site, found out about this thread and still started supporting his work, but eventually stopped because he‘s such an unpleasant person

I'm guessing what he meant was that it isn't pleasant to play without a guide mod, which leads people here for help. It's obviously playable without it by technical definition, but I would have abandoned it a long time ago without guidance from the mod or the community (even if I'm the one writing trigger guides recently).

Yeah I probably would have given up, too. I tried doing a replay without a linear mod and it was horrific to try and figure out what events came next, and where. It's a punishing experience if you haven't been here from the start

I think we have already agreed on several occasions that Sel's idea of gameplay is pretty bad, and he might not even necessarily disagree with the general notion that the gameplay experience could be better.

But calling it unplayable is simply unfair and untrue, both on the factual level as well as the perceived one.
It's repetitive and can sometimes feel unfair in how complicated some of the unlock conditions are for certain events, but it's definitely manageable, at least many on here did so without abandoning it.
And while I would generally agree that the gameplay can be off-putting for some players, I think the main reasons for people abandoning it are usually other ones.

However, I want to remind people that the general consensus here is that going the green route and seeing all events is the one true way to play the game as it is the author's vision and "canon". That does make sense and I can get behind that, but at the end of the day, it is up to the players to decide whether they want to do it the way the author intended or make use of other options available and risk skipping content.

Virtually the same can be said about the general gameplay loop. Sel's vision probably would be for the player to feel some form of frustration by having to figure out the correct sequence of events or finding happy scenes seemingly by random. I think the Alexis happy scene is a good recent example for this. Even potentially missing events if you fail to follow the "correct" choices gives a bit of meaning and reason for this being called a game as opposed to a kinetic novel.
However, understandably, some players want to ignore that vision and do it their way and use the guide mod to get through the game faster and without worrying to miss anything.

Personally, I haven't used the guide mod in the past, I have worked through the grind and reputative gameplay loop, knowing it will reward me with good content. I also haven't followed the green route, making decisions based on personal preferences and an interpretation of what an authentic choice for Akira would be, even if it means missing scenes.
That being said, I am glad the mod exists and have started using it during my current replay, mostly to make sure I get to see all events.

I want to stress however that there is one clear exception to all of this where I cannot possibly defend Sel:
The reset puzzles are ass and should be reworked, at least in the future. Those I am pretty sure have frustrated some of the new players enough to drop this title.
I also belong to the group of people who had to look up here or on reddit for puzzle solutions, since the experience is nowhere as fulfilling or clever as Sel probably thinks it is.
Like honestly, just make it lore-based questions or something, the girls favorite stuff or anything that would be somewhat fun to look up if you are not called aramaug, Moonflare or Deskel and know it by heart. Just not random sequences of numbers that were hidden in the corner of an obscure event or stuff you literally need to google. Or trial & error clicking things until something happens. Bad! Bad Selebus!

I'll get aramaug and DeSkel together to get a trivia of the day going then :ROFLMAO:

Himawari's birthday is dec 28, which is also the day the resets started (we assume). This was revealed by both the event with the same name (the first sleepover with Yumi and RAS), and the wiki entry that is assumed to have been edited by Selebus himself.

Early on, there was an event that could only be triggered by visiting the dorms, choosing "knock on a door" then "go home". I hated this for a few reasons, first because going home is rarely a good option because if you have nothing else to do, you might as well grind an affection or lust point, second because if for some reason you did want to go home you would do it from the main set of choices, not after going three levels deep so this is an option that would never get tried as part of normal gameplay, and third (and most importantly) it makes no sense that going home via one option would make something happen while doing it via another option wouldn't. It felt like a cheap way to hide the path forward, and it's definitely not the only time he does it.

Strangely enough if this is the same event I'm thinking of I have a distinct memory of stumbling upon it by accident. But I don't mean to completely deminish your point, because I'm pretty sure I only found it because of a series of misclicks brought about by spamming left click while I was trying to grind affection/lust. It would be funny but also kind of dumb if that's was actually the method by which Selebus intended people to find it.

Despite how horny i might come across half the time, it's actually quite rare for anything from this game to get a reaction out of my penis, nineteen times out of twenty, i simply find the girls cute or adorable, not sexy, not 'dayum girl...'.

But this post got a little wiggle from my spaghetti, all three images for slightly different reasons... they're all still hitting that cute and adorable vibe... but there's also a very prominent carnal string tracing its way through every image...
