never played that game to be honest
but..not really a fan of sandbox..there are very few games that make sandbox work in my eyes (at least)
here's hoping this one will work as well
I didn't get a chance to play Artemis. But I guess it would suffice to say that it will never get in the way of the main story. Because everything in the game right now is designed based on the player's choice. You can avoid a situation or mechanic you don't like.

Beta testing process started today. Some of you got angry and were right to be angry, some of you followed quietly. Thank you to everyone who supports us in any way. I hope that the result will make you forget all the negativities. This is why we remain silent. When making a game like this, the only thing that fights us is time. Until the day the game is playable, we just wanted to shut up and work. Because at the end of the day, the important thing is not the words, but the fact that there is a game that can be playable. Since the stressful part of the job is left behind, we are here to communicate and answer your questions as much as possible from now on. We love this game so we like to add new and useful stuff. There were delays due to the mechanics that we did not think to put before but now we believe will suit. Like inventory system, hint menu system, collectables, complex scoring, more interesting sandbox elements, rework characters etc. As a result, we added the things we wanted and we are very happy with the final version of the game.
It is not anger but an observation of what has happened up to that moment. Anyway, I really appreciate your answer, I can only be pleased to read that you remain interested in this project (which as you already know, I have evaluated it, like many others, positively) and that you follow it with passion.
For my part, any opinion, even if negative, is not aimed at demolishing someone, if anything to stimulate the devs to pursue their interests.
Thanks for the answer, for the game and I hope in the future we can follow and have fun with this project without ifs and without but above all on the timing of the updates.
Good luck and good day.

well I hope there's not too much "improvement" I've never heard of sandbox ever being an improvement lol..occasionall free roam however is fine
i agree, most devs try to make the game better with sandbox elements and then get lost in it and in the end it costs more time without offering any gameplay benefits. of course i will watch it here and would also change my opinion if it is really good, but experience has taught me otherwise.

I agree, having prior experiences with sandbox games gives us doubts and that's to be expected.... I like LISC just the way it is but if the "improvement" really does improve the gameplay I'll be first in line to stand corrected

Sandbox or not ?

In my opinion if the dev decides to make a choice rather than another it means that it should be able to manage it, therefore having preconceptions because some devs have not been able to manage their projects does not help any dev, indeed it could confuse him on what has designed.
If a dev is professional, he does not rely on the suggestions of a group of users but on the global evaluation of the game which concerns, from my point of view, in order of importance, the story, the characters, the scenes, the graphic quality and finally the gameplay (which if it is not free from bugs can be implemented through the reports of the players and testers).
Let him work and then our evaluations, in their globality, will judge whether he did a good job or not, but judging with preconceptions (I repeat) does not help.

I agree with you. These preferences vary from game to game, of course, but I think the balance of mechanics in the game is important. When I said sandbox, I actually wanted to talk about free roam sections, I may have used the wrong word there. Many people did not like the free roam sections, but I think it should be. Instead of removing it from the game, we made it likable. Instead of the aimless free roam sections in the first episode, we made it much more logical and served the story and filled it with content. I believe we have struck the balance now and I am really curious about all of your reactions.

That's 100% true.. MC bangs his best friends mom infront of his dad.. Well I'd actually say the dad forces him to do it, but give the game a try and see for yourself

Do what you enjoy the most, otherwise it makes no sense and you will hardly be able to do a good job.
It is necessary to work on marketing statistics and history before starting the videogame project, improvising during development is unlikely to obtain good results.
I think it is well known that most films are based on novels written long before production and I don't see why that can't happen in this area anyway.
Reproducing a novel that has already been written does not mean, as some say, copying because to reproduce it, through visual scenes and films, you need no less specialized skills than those to write a story.
I know, it's not easy .... but some devs start trying because they know that those who approach this sector are tired of the sterile, obvious, repetitive and boring porn scenes that run in unlimited quantities on the web.
Good evening and good work.

I’m not into sandbox games either, but for me the sandbox elements in Artemis worked well because it was tied to the directly to the story. It wasn’t just mindless clicking and wasting time, Like going to different rooms being introduced to all of the ladies in the fraternity. That’s about all of the sandbox elements present.

In this game it remains to be seen just how much the sandbox element will be in play. Hopefully it doesn’t dominate the game.
