I just thought that the drawings look quite similiar. Especially the faces. But it is always great to see artists improve their drawings :)
Both artists use the same porn websites it seems, such as Blacked, as the source for base images to use.

Is this preview like the GGGB one? Like you have a part of the next update or the full update earlierfor the patreons who are higher tier?

Will we have Good Girl Gone Bad fanboys and fangirls swarming every single thread of games that have a similar "art style" (i.e. just tracing)? this is getting ridiculous, 10 pages of people trying to defend Good Girl Gone Bad once someone had the decency to expose where the art comes from, which ended the initial circlejerk and made them move the goalposts (now it's about the UI in Good Girl Gone Bad being original x'D, which is also plainly false). Good Girl Gone Bad is not original at all, it's just that the dev created a lot of content. The game itself is quite mediocre, story-wise (typical corruption game) and art-wise (besides the tracing and backgrounds being just photos, facial expressions look weird, and anatomy in general is quite bad, especially noticeable in side angles).

Mods should intervene in my opinion, there is already a nasty circlejerk in the Good Girl Gone Bad thread, you don't want obsessed people starting another circlejerk here, in a whole different game. Discussion should be about the game the thread is about.

My general stance on this whole tracing debacle is as follows:
  • Be upfront about doing it. Hiding the fact that you're tracing seems a bit dishonest to the people that play the game. Don't try to pass of something as if it was entirely your own creation.
  • Give proper credit to everything you trace. Meaning if you trace a certain image from blacked.com or whatever. Link (to the best of your ability) to the exact source. Otherwise it feels like you are making profit of other people's work.
If you did the 2 points I mentioned, then I honestly don't care about whether you trace or not. Because then you are honest and you give the props to the people who deserves it.

I personally didn't enjoy playing GGGB after finding out that it was traced. Even if the game is still EXACTLY the same, it just felt cheap because I initially thought that they actually created everything from scratch like they seemed to claim.

I still appreciate the game (and this as well) for the fact that they didn't straight up use images taken from someone else (which some other games does). They at least put their own spin on it (even if it was traced).

"But I can draw (more or less), that's my talent" "so the result is Life of Kiki with my own drawings" - Directly from Echidna's Patreon.

It's fine saying it's your own drawings. Because it is, and you seem to be talented at drawing. However at least mention that they are traced in some shape or form.

I agree. When I realized that the dev of GGGB was tracing even the faces and so the characters sometimes seem to have different facial features, I was really disappointed. It's OK to use the tracing as a help for proportions, poses and so, but to trace directly a photo, faces included, and put it in a game, is cheap.

Good that you appreciate everything. Also, I think how much you've interacted with the site (i.e how much you've posted/replied) decides if you are considered a "New Member" or a "Member". I could be wrong though.

I couldn't agree more. I like both games and honestly i couldn't care less about the nature of the art as long as it fits the concept and enhances the experience. I have much more of a problem getting into a game that has me solving puzzles and doing a lot of grinding or running around. Sure some of that is fine but let's remember that blood is needed elsewhere than in your brain when you're playing a porn game or reading a VN.

There are never too many games where you can go wild as a former "pure" girl, traced or not. On the contrary, if it makes the development progress faster i say we need more tracing :FeelsGoodMan:

Ditto.
Frankly, I can't understand the current trend of 'tracing-phobia'. Even tracing implies a good amount of effort and artistry.

On the one hand, I think EvaKiss' game is more polished and s/he is a more accomplished storyteller. The level of replayability of GGGB is still unbeated (imho - and it was so also in v0.1), even though the story in itself is really basic.

On the other hand, I think Echidna is more comfortable with drawings, especially for face expressions. His game is simpler and yet effective. It feels more urgent (or, one can say, more 'ecchi'!), so maybe there would be a pacing problem in the future, who knows.

At any rate, they currently are - along with Jessica O'Neal - among my favorite VNs :)
