One problem that I had trouble with is the fact that if you buy multiple units of a single item (say condoms) the time it takes to buy them is the time it takes to buy one multiplied by the number you buy. So if you buy 200 condoms instead of 1 the time it takes is 200 times what it would take to buy one. This turned out really bad when I bought 1000 joints (so, I'm a pot head) :(
I think you make a good point. Currently, the way it works is that you buy a unit per an item. But for any items where you frequently buy, that doesn't seem very effective. So I would suggest that we be allowed to buy them in a bulk. You may buy ONE unit of condom OR buy a pack of, say, TEN or DOZEN for condom. Obviously, buying a pack would be more effective than buying either ten or dozen units individually. Once you brought a pack, it will automatically add the units from that pack to your inventory so no need to unpack them manually (like in The Sims 4 for certain items)

Furthermore, I suggest adding warehouse clubs (think Sam's Club and other similar places) where you may buy different items in even larger pack. In the real world, I am uncertain if any warehouse clubs do sell condoms but you can buy larger bulk for food, drinks, and so on in these places.

Now, you may need to look more carefully at how much it will cost to buy in individual units and in packs. Some items may cost more in packs than individual units. You need to weigh the trade-off, whether the time savings is worth more than money. Maybe more time may allow you to not only make more money, thereby making up for the losses, but also to allow you to replenish your stats more. It is all about balancing act. Strategy is the key.

screen tearing is usually the other side of the performance spectrum - the game is performing too well - faster than your screen's refresh rate
maybe try using nvidia vsync with the game:
Okay, that was a good suggestion. But for Linux a slightly different way is needed to achieve the same goal:

The strange thing for me is that although I play a lot of varied games it has been years since I needed to use 'Force Composition Pipeline'. I suspect that LifePlay is not interacting properly with the composite manager on Linux since that remedies screen-tearing issues for all other output, at least on my system (arch linux, xfce4 desktop, with picom as compositor.)

So yay, good workaround, but there is still likely an underlying issue with the linux build. Not sure I can help with that other than offering to test experimental builds if you happen to need a guinea pig.

While I'm more than impressed by what has been done in this game so far, I have to give it a pass until it's more finished and robust. The one thing that irks me most (I'm vain, sue me :p) is having such a limited amount of different clothing. I understand why this is a difficult thing to include so I'm not pointing a finger or anything, this is personal preference.

Other than that, I have a really hard time figuring out how this game is supposed to be played. I get the basics, sure, but I have yet to see any other scenes than the few I have repeatedly ran into. Also, what action triggers which chance, how does one trigger certain events, etc..

If the wiki is under development, I totally understand but you could do with a guide that's more expansive than what's available now.

Please, by all means, do not let my comment be discouraging. It's just a person giving his opinion, which is worth basically nothing considering you're doing this with passion and for the wonderful discount-price of free, so I'll eat my opinion if it's considered too rude. I truly do wish for this to become a time-sink for me one day, however right now, it's a brain-sink and I prefer other options.

(Everything here is subjective to the game itself. I might be a complete tool and not have figured out obvious things so take this with a grain of salt)

I remember playing this a long time ago and something just didn't click with me., Decided to play it again and wow I must say the game has improved a lot. World seems more lively and the mods make it better. Also customization is really nice. Looking forward to some wonderful updates. Keep up the work dev.

While I'm not 100% sure if its not a side effect of some mods it seems like the games performance is bogging down further and further.
The background visuals are improving along with background animations like walking but I have to ask "At what cost?"

I feel like this game is going to become like The Sims 3. Great game, lots of mod ability, interactions with NPC who have their own lives, etc... but in the end there were so many background processes that at the best of times any sort of long play session would result in the game thinking itself to death trying to keep up with all the variables.

It might be a good idea to add the options menu a check box to go back to the static backgrounds and simpler basics if for nothing else but make the game more available to those with lesser computers at least.

I might leave this game alone until the next version and do a full rebuild instead of a patch and see if that fixes things but I kinda worry about where the game is heading.

Not sure why you would want them, as the lpaction files just trigger scenes, but some are hardcoded by the looks of them e.g the rent home one. So basicly you cant change them!
If you write mod yourself, you'll know why I need it
At present, there are no other jobs open, and when I try to add my own jobs, I find that I can't find any lpaction that triggers the job. Won't I be confused
