The way I see it, the short stint with the aboned tag will have some advantages: it will lure out lots of hibernating bears who will come here to shout "I KNEW IT! SCAMMER!". It will be very effcient to block them all at once instead of one here and one there. Like cat fishing (bear fishing?) with dynamite.
So what you are saying is that this was all a well developed trap to get them all in one swift swoop? God damn thats some genius planning by naughtyroad :ROFLMAO:

Ha! Oderint dum metuant I always say :devilish:
Well they don't fear us. They fear "fried" as he will fry their asses if they don't behave... which means you are somehow correct.

vita incerta, mors certissima.

Was always my favorite phrase in latin.

Yep, that's true.
Playing Age of Empires taught me that.
Then Age of Empire's taught you wrong. While you might argue that a Catapult is simply a device to throw heavy objects that's not true to an engineer. Catapult uses tension to generate force, and a Trebuchet uses gravity and counterweights. The mechanics are different.

You're attempting to say that all Dating sims are VN, but that is also not true. There is a lot of overlap, and easy confusion, but in reality the two are not the same; especially if you look at the coding for the games.

Um...maybe actually read the post that I was quoting.
I didn't say that all dating sims are VN.
I just mentioned about Age of Empires.
Wasn't really looking for an ancient history lesson but thanks anyway.

I would suggest the treb since the "extra" centripetal slingshot effect as a "booster rocket engine" and it adds to the total length of the throwing arm at the bears release point

Edit: at DIY to make your own
for self defence purposes, of course. ( works if the neighbors cat craps in your rose garden as well, if you can catch it, that is.)

I assume you are an engineer. Therefore allow me the following question.

To throw bears a great distance. Which of those devices would do the job more efficient? You know... for science reasons.
:ROFLMAO:

If relying on ancient tech to unbear your home it's a matter of space available to build. Trebuchets tended to have greater range, but they were also many times the size simply because the ratio and reward stays the same as you increase the dimensions. Whereas the catapult has a more consistent force with a drop-off on the rewards the larger the machine gets. So if you have to store it in your garage then the Catapult will be more effective in that size. If you have spare acreage and don't mind making an air-hazard then go for the Trebuchet.

However...if you're thinking about capitalizing on modern technology I'd recommend a hydraulic sling-shot like they use on Aircraft Carriers. Nothing unbears your house, home, and soul. End the sad stariotyping that bears are slow lumbering floofs by granting them an airspeed velocity upwards of 350 mph. Add in a decent trejectory and those airborne shits will be someone elses problem...far, far away.

Umm, isn't that catapult actually working on steam, as I've read about them/seen on TV? 's are running on nuclear reactors, so steam under high pressure is always available.
Oh, right, during WWII there were hydraulic catapults, apparently. Modern ones are steam catapults, anyway.
