I haven't played this since v0.3.18 , are there any new bad ends added since then by any chance? And will my old save work with this one?

I just watched a couple of Youtube videos about another game of similar situation, Chronicles of Elyria, which is a MMORPG with crafting and building and such, basically a dream sandbox game that was supposed to be out in 2017. Until now, 2022, it's still not even out of alpha, still continued to siphon people's money with virtual properties that don't even exist yet, and the dev team is being taken out to court (You should check out KiraTV on Youtube). Just reminds me of LT so bad that I had to say it here and dream of a day when either Inno takes the game seriously or LT becomes a community project like how Free Cities was.

Out of curiosity, what fields in the save/export .xml files do I need to change my race? I played ages ago to the point where I became a demon, although I don't have the save anymore. Is anyone able to let me know what I need to change, to alter a new character to be one? Thanks

There's no "bad ends" in the way you mean... There's some definitely disappointing ends, but that's just because the game's development and writing has gotten worse over the years. But no new bad ends.

And no idea. Probably?

Have you actually looked at the save file? There's *a lot* of fields. And you'll need to change like 20 of them.

Just use the buggy command and use the cheat menu to make yourself a demon. It'll save you a bunch of hassle.

Chronicles of Elyria was officially denounced as a scam last year and the team is now facing a lawsuit for it.
The chances of Inno facing a lawsuit are close to none and there are a few reasons for it.

1) Despite the delays and questionable choices during development you can't call it a scam because progress is still being made and we have proof of it via free, public updates.

In 2020 we had 13 public updates (a portion of which were hotfixes). Last year we had 6 (again, including hotfixes). Progress may be slowing down but a free update every 2 months is still a better deal than you'd get from the worst examples of indie porn developers, especially those that gate their game behind a pay wall. Is it ideal? No. Could be worse? Yes. People would be less upset if Inno stopped making public estimates she cannot keep up with. We know it. She knows it. It would save everyone, including herself, the hassle if she just accepted this fact. The game is not in it's infancy anymore, the more it grows the more difficult it becomes to add and maintain things. We don't expect miracles, but we do expect some modesty (and honesty) from the developer.

2) Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform with a one-off payment to help creators bring their projects to life. Patreon (and similar) allow creators to live off a monthly subscription in exchange for services. The main difference between the two is that the people who fund Kickstarters are usually seen as "investors", whereas Patreons are seen as "donators".

Investors want guarantees and may ask for their money back or even take legal action if they feel like you didn't fulfill your end of the bargain, whereas donations usually come with less strings attached for both parties. With Patreon, you are not entitled to the product or service unless you're active subscriber. The creator sets the parameters of what and when they are willing to deliver, and it is up to you whether or not you accept those terms. Unless the creator breaks the law, it will be hard to hold them accountable for their actions, as you can just withdraw your subscription should you become unhappy with the deal. You cannot, however, get your money back from previous donations.

With Kickstarter, you pay for the whole product. With Patreon, you pay for a portion of the final product and for every step of the way it takes to get there.

i come back from a week away from the internet, wondering to myself 'boy oh boy, i sure do hope LT has gained at least some form of update!'. i know, i know, it was naive; a week away from the bad influences of internet personalities will do that to anyone.

so imagine the feelings that wracked my body when i realised Inno had, yet again, delayed an update. an update that no one gives a fuck for because it advances diddly squat with the main storyline and adds fucking nothing worthwhile, but an update nevertheless.

imagine the complete lack of surprise and the overwhelming disappointment i felt. imagine feeling your best friend kick you in the gonads with cleats and then apologise while he stomps on your balls for good measure. that's what my infinite well of disappointment would feel like for anyone else.

at this point i really should expect every single update to be delayed for no fucking reason, but i still hold onto hope like an idiot.

That's nothing, take a look at Star Citizen if you want a real mind-blower. :ROFLMAO: :coffee:

I'm sure Inno gives a lot of shit about you and your feelings. :ROFLMAO::coffee:

What? There are bad ends, atleast one that I'm aware of - in the rat caverns if you get defeated and captured by the merchant or whatever his name is. In that bad end, you basically become a brain-dead breeder.

Sorry, there's no NEW bad ends. Which is what the question was.

Really? You're that naive with one week away? Call me jaded, but I don't think I'll have true hope for this project again until it's out of Inno's hands

Hello again,
Sorry again for how long it's taken me to get this update out, and for the fact that due to there still placeholder content, I've decided to make it a preview one. As I previously mentioned, I've not been feeling too well recently, which, combined with some stressful personal issues, has really impacted my ability to work on LT. The personal issues have been resolved, but I've been feeling physically worse over the past few days, and so I've not been able to get all the placeholders for the tavern content filled in (headaches and light-headedness have made it hard to concentrate on writing).
The patch notes look very small for this update, but there are a few different sections of content in the tavern, so there is a little more than the patch notes would suggest. I'm going to have to take the rest of the week off to try and get some real rest in which to recover, but after that I'll work on getting the placeholders filled in and the next section of the main quest added.
I know I keep saying sorry, but I feel very guilty about the lack of progress over the past few weeks. I'll do my best to catch up and get a lot more added for the next version. Thank you all for your support, and I'll make another post at the end of this week to let you know how I'm feeling and when the next public update is to be expected.
I package and release these in-between preview builds for backers over on , but anyone can play them at any time by building them directly from the public github (which is always kept up to date with the very latest version):

(There's a build tutorial .)

IMPORTANT: If you're building through github, you'll now need to place the 'liliths-throne-public/res' folder in the same directory as the exported .jar!
ALSO IMPORTANT:
Make sure you build from 'dev' branch.
v0.4.3.9 Patch Notes
Engine/Modding:
  • Added 'escapeBlocked' variable to combat responses, allowing you to block the availability of the escape action during that combat scene.
  • Added 'resetHour' attribute support to dialogue flags, allowing you to define the hour at which dialogue flags reset, instead of only being able to reset them at midnight.
Gameplay:
  • Added 'The Crossed Blades' tavern in the alleyways of northern Elis.
Other:
  • Added 'light orange' as a new body covering colour.
  • Renamed 'alcoholic' fluid modifier to 'strongly alcoholic', and added a new 'alcoholic' fluid modifier, which applies intoxication at a rate 10 times slower than the old, 'strongly alcoholic' modifier.
Bugs:
  • Parsing fixes.
tldr: more vague personal issues and vague medical issues caused this delay but she's REALLY sorry guys for realz!
I might have for sympathy for this "woe is me/I feel so gulty" schitck if we didn't keep going through the same cycle of overpromise and underdeliver every singe update.

So... one whole month just to add two bits of modding content that definitely isn't a plea for help for the modding community to do Inno's job for her, a new area that is probably filled with more filler content than finished content, a new cosmetic fur option, and a variation of a feature that no one probably uses.

What was the fucking point of releasing this... thing? Can't call it an update when most patches for games on this site contain magnitudes of more content. I really hope the subscribestar and discord start chewing Inno out for this, unlikely as that may be. Pretty sure a quadriplegic could pump out more and better updates at this point.

Inno keeps overestimating how much she can do within her self-imposed deadlines. She justifies it by saying the estimates push her to work harder but what it ultimately does is cause her to overstress about it all, which is terrible for one's mental health, especially when it keeps happening over a long period of time. She doesn't accept that the parameters have changed and she cannot keep treating this game as it was back in 2016.

When this project started off in 2016, she made it one of her goals to release a new update every two weeks. This was easier to achieve because there was less of an amalgamation of code to manage every time she wanted to add something. Things have changed. Her workflow, health and motivation have changed, yet she keeps ignoring the signs, either due to foolishness, stubbornness, or both. She has been taking breaks due to personal and health concerns more and more often. Progress has slowed down over the years and if it keeps up like this it may come to a halt completely.

Stress, fatigue, headaches, light-headedness - there's a plethora of conditions that cause these. However, one condition that could easily be affecting her, that includes all of these, is burnout. Resting is good but it won't solve the issue if she's going to return to her old methods and workflow right after. She needs to change her approach towards development and slow down in order to do more in the long-term. But I doubt she will. Stubborn people only learn when something drastic happens that forces their hand. Her health is going to have to implode to dangerous levels for her to realize she can't continue like this...

She's going to hit rock-bottom one day, the question is whether she will still be able to work on the game at that point (or even want to)...

Some of us may be jaded but at the end of the day we still want the game to succeed. Her subscribers could have influenced her for the better, instead, they chose to ignore the problem, either due to ignorance or because they didn't want to besmirch their reputation and hurt the developer's feelings. Even now, you speak anything that isn't outright praise and you get told off, point in case was that Sub.Star comment where one person told her to get a team because she was overworked, and got called "rude and impatient" by the community. We were the first ones to point out that Inno's workflow wasn't sustainable and would lead to problems down the road, we warned about this years ago, but since we're the "salty malcontents" nobody cared...

Oh, interesting - I wasn't aware there was an option to enter commands! Would someone be able to let me know how? There didn't seem like any info on this in the readme or wiki, when I checked earlier. I could just be missing something obvious though

The "readme" file in the game folder has the code at the very end. Typing "buggy" when on an open tile will open the debug menu.
