I never get how this is a common thread for people. I've played through this game twice and nothing about the writing ever jumped out as remarkable at all.

Do you mean LotV? It's not remarkable, it's just good. The situations are clever, there's nothing that jumps out as absurd, or illogical. It's a pleasant lewd game, it's not going to win a Hugo.
And compared to most of the other games of this type, it's much better (subjectively speaking, of course).

In all cases she had the option of not letting go. Except on the scene with the hypnotherapist.
In my opinion, when Lily chooses "yes" or "no" it makes the game more logical. Possible ways for an upcoming events can be built based on your choices "dirty housewife" or "good housewife". If lily is raped you cannot choose your destiny and the game would be predictable and completely wrost.
