Straight from the man's Ci-EnSo, why is the "official art" white? Evidently there is no "official hair color" that the author had in mind and his art was just winging it.

Thus far the Fantasy has been depicted with three different hair colors in "official Ci-En art" and monochrome has two different colors.Straight from the man's Ci-En
Yes, white or gray. It might have been "washed", basically an unhealthy colour. Later on, if I remember correctly her hair colour starter returning, being a "fair" colour, assumed to be blonde or possibly gold. It wasn't there yet, but eventually it was said it would return/grow to how it used to be. Although the term they used is often used for blonde or gold coloured hair, it could also be interpreted differently, hence why for the longest time I had the theory her hair was azure/blue, due to the promo image from Sister Explorer, as that would have been also fair (and we are in anime hair territory anyway).Wait a minute, I only know two from Fantasy.
The white / silver hair 'coz of her weird mana disease that makes her explode and the blonde / gold hair after curing 'er of it.
Wait, the sister explorer or travel, forgot what it is.Yes, white or gray. It might have been "washed", basically an unhealthy colour. As such, it's been too long since I played it in jap and translations always screw things up, but it seems she got a disease that took away her stamina and colour (so that's why everything's black and white ), her hair is whiteish/grayish, you cure her and her hair colour starts coming back... it might have been dark brown for all we know originally, but official pics do confirm her hair becomes blonde during the cooking scene (or it's light blonde already and the difference is simply due to lighting)
I meant washed blonde/cream/whitish can look fuller under a warm lightWait, the sister explorer or travel, forgot what it is.
That's a sequel to that? I thought it's a sequel to the OTHER one.
I've no idea how brown turns to blonde in lighting but a'ight.
Oh, then yeah that I can agree on.I meant washed blonde/cream/whitish can look fuller under a warm light
If you look closely to picture, you'll notice her hair is actually brown not black. It's really hard to tell with her being by herself, but if she stood next to someone with actual black hair there's a striking difference. The game doesn't really have a different CG set for before and after the great adventure, so isn't attempting to split the color into two haircolor variants an exercise in futility?
On another note, I always imagined the monochrome girl as a girl with black hair and dark eyes, as the place is clearly Japan and she is a Japanese girl, so wouldn't she look Japanese?

Which is mostly due to her brown highlights, which is evidently popular in Japan the same way girls in the US will put in blonde highlights. Here is an experiment: do a google search for "Japanese hair color" and I challenge you to find a picture of a girl still rocking her natural hair color. If you look closely to picture, you'll notice her hair is actually brown not black. Because when you add "color" google assumes you want something else than normal.do a google search for "Japanese hair color" and I challenge you to find a picture of a girl still rocking her natural hair color.
Wait a minute, I still have no idea how monochrome is this game's prequel at all.Bruh from my understanding her hair was White from mana deficiency. Then when she was cured it went to a glowy color, since cumming inside her too much stuffed her with so much mana curing her. The gold/blonde color is just to illustrate it. And in monochrome her hair was black. The chibi version is light brown cause inusuku use it with either black and white background outside of the game
ok so since you did not play the first gameWait a minute, I still have no idea how monochrome is this game's prequel at all.
So I thought this was just another game with the same concept but different setting.
Secret Bad Ending, now I know why I have no idea it's the sequel.ok so since you did not play the first game
in the secret bad ending your isekied into a fantasy world
2, the sister has white hair due to mana issues, you go on a grand adventuer to find some way to not let her die, and by the end you give up having kids to save her.
3 at the end of the game story and adventure it says that her hair turns blonde like her mothers
Wow I love your comment I always had the doubt because inusuku paints it in brown chibi and in black cg the monochrome sister.Bruh from my understanding her hair was White from mana deficiency. Well, Dark Souls isn't strictly a follow-up story of Demon's Souls while Elden Ring is not a follow-up to Dark Souls but they are all considered sequels. Often times a sequel does not denote a continuation of a story but a continuation of themes and mechanics as well. Fantasy is a sequel to Monochrome because it takes Monochrome's core pillar of gameplay and expands upon it, even if it is using a different setting and characters, the core idea of Monochrome is still continued.Wait a minute, I still have no idea how monochrome is this game's prequel at all.

no worries, its just her exploding due to you 2 getting a bear head baby cause you was a bear headSecret Bad Ending, now I know why I have no idea it's the sequel.
No way in heck I'll intentionally do bad endings but yeah, no.2 and 3 are pretty much all I know in this game.
