i dont know why devs decide that they need to come here when everyone here is extremely brutally honest about how a game looks or plays.

It can be done in a way that has good reception among the forum-goers. For example HentaiWriter with his Future Fragments or Cookiedraggy with their Kincaid. But the reception of those games are fairly positive already, so I guess there's less of a risk in that sense.

We should all hold our criticism or scepticism.

That's not the idea that I got from reading MightyAltroll's posts. He's not exactly using the most friendly language or anything, but it's mostly correcting people that don't know what they're talking about or pointing out that certain things do take time when people don't understand that.

F95 as a whole? Maybe. Hasn't been my experience. The LoK threads on F95? Yes, for sure.

This is just the 3rd or 4th remake of the same game that's been trying to be made for the last decade, almost.

Where are you getting your information, buddy?

Why ever complete a furry game if furries will throw money at anything because they are desperate for good games?

Because completing a game brings in more cash than living in endless development hell and hoping your supporters will keep giving you money.

How many of these games are there now? There are so many remakes and reprises. And is this one any good?

Do you people really put this game and all those old Flash games into the same pile and label them remakes? I struggle to see the logic behind that. They're different beasts.

I had been a Patreon for quite a long time for this project, I'm not now due to some instability, but i can say that these guys have worked their asses off to get where they are right now. The truth is being told here, even if they wanted to go back to the old version of the game they couldn't, It just isn't possible. I preferred how the old one was designed as well but there's no sense crying over spilled milk.

The animations, environments, code, dialog, Practically everything was made from scratch. I'd LOVE to see half of you armchair devs manage to put out a working tech demo within a year while also having to REDO everything from scratch... I completely understand why any dev would be pissed off at this kind of response. It just goes to show how little people know about what goes on behind closed doors when it comes to development. It isn't as simple as If X is Y then X = False. It just isn't.


Though, all that being said, i will admit that for a dev to get on a site and start roasting people is stooping down to the exact same level and should definitely be avoided at all costs. That's pretty unprofessional and the dev/devs should most definitely get a hold of the negative emotions. (Which i did see above that the dev that posted that mega call out comment is going to distance himself from the site, which if that's what it takes, more power to you)

All and all, i cannot wait to see what this new project becomes because from what i've seen, this project is being treated very seriously. IT's being treated more like a REAL game instead of a little oneshot project.

Well @ MightyAltroll, I hope you succeed this time. I gave the demo a play and I'm liking what I've seen so far. Sure it's barebones as of now but just one quick question for now. Do you plan on the characters remaining as 2D sprites, similar to papercraft characters, or will you go to a more 2.5D or even 3D model in the future?

2D. We're also going back to 2D environments, the 3D was too divisive for the community.

I never was a patron and I don't really follow discord so I don't know why the restart happened. Apparently drama in the group or something. Well shit happens. The original wasn't perfect, it was tedious with really really weird design choices but I liked it nonetheless. While I'm highly skeptical of a project going nowhere for years and then restarting I also really really want this game to succeed and be finished. So I'll be cheering the team on while accepting that we may get disappointed again.

Game development is hard, especially when there are a lot of voices asking for or demanding things. So I'd recommend you guys to be very skeptical of any criticism not made in good conscience. Also the complaints about the art are ridiculous. You may like the old style better, that is personal preference and subjective. But as an artist myself I can say that the newer art is objectively of higher quality no questions asked.

Lastly, this really does feel like a personal project for the team and I hope that's true and that your passion is genuine and the game will turn out great. I'll be keeping an eye on this project for sure.

We'll be recreating everything you experienced in v0.8, but with a few changes here and there. The characters will all mostly be the same, the sex scenes will be recreated for the most part. We are just focusing on balancing out the content a bit more, and reducing the tedium.

If so, can the player avoid them with the right decicions? Stay in controll so to speak.

I don't consider myself a furry either, but Krystal was the exception. I had a thing for her when I played Star Fox Adventures going through puberty. The very first porn images I saw on the internet were also of her, and were purely by accident. I didn't stand a chance.

I joke around and stuff but I wanna at least be a tad bit lenient on this game. Not that im gonna start throwing money at it or anything, but I'll wait around and see what will become of this. I can certainly say this game (at least from what i can glean from the tech demo) has more ambition than not just the last iteration, but more than any other LoK game I've played so far, and god dammit im a sucker for overly ambitious games, because someone's gotta push the boundaries even if it seems impossible.

I'll be honest and say that I wasnt too impressed by the last game (there's A LOT of things they could have done better in every department and their priorities weren't straight and it was obvious on the surface that development was going left when the game is basically being made out of order), but it doesn't hurt to sit back and watch what will happen with this. I know I joked about it in my first post and I know it seems unlikely given LoK game's reputation.... but I hope this is the game that breaks the curse and rise above the rest. With the right team you can make anything happen. This isnt me saying go out and back this on patreon (why they're still on patreon I have no idea, but it WILL bite them in the ass if they dont move away from it to somewhere else), but as a community who mostly play these games for free, I say lets give this a shot. I mean all we gotta do is just wait right?

You're missing the fact that they're going with 2D and not 3D. And as far as I know Abelius wasn't the artist.

I know it's been said a thousand times, but for me that is the most integral part of any and all porn games : Krystal herself is a straight downgrade in quality. Not her design as in her theme, but she looks like a half-finished sketch compared to the old one. Maybe that's the case, maybe she is in fact just a "drawn-out sketch". If not though, IMHO it's a straight downgrade. (Also maybe this was already adressed here, but I don't have that much time right now Mighty's post was rather large)

We plan on combat loss events, and the like, but we will keep all of that stuff separate from Patreon. For the most part, the player always has control over sex, you will be able to complete the game a virgin.

We have a number of companions/species planned, not many futas, but they will be a thing in the world, and one companion will be a futa.

Again, why put all those flash games that these devs were in no way involved with in the same pile and all label them remakes? That doesn't make sense. And if you're going to include all of those, I wouldn't be surprised if it's more than a decade since the first one, then. But no, this game has been in development since late 2016, and we're not in 2026 yet.

Don't know why you're quoting me in your message, but yeah. There are still a bunch of people supporting them. Would I do that if I were them? No, not with the things I know of the game right now. And I say that because I don't follow the game as closely as some others. I don't use Discord and have never been on their Discord server.

The demo isn't "nulled" because of switching to 2D again. There is a bunch of work they've put into it that carries over regardless of whether the environment is 3D or 2D.

I don't think you need to read a 200-page long thread to make a comment about a failed project, as you put it. You can criticize the game. That's fine. But what a lot of people seem to be doing, and also have been doing in that old thread, is spreading things that are not true and making accusations out of nowhere without understanding the full picture.

i partly disagree on that one.
I know you speak for a fair amount of people out there if you say they want a game only to fap and what can i say ~i have them too~ but i have a good amount of games i play for more then the fapability. This game here would fall latter in that category, that´s the reason i asked Vlad in my post before if there are any forced sex scenes. it gives the game more replayability in my opinion to have the control of what happens to the Character and the Story.

About your second point, the market is flodded in 3D CG visual novel games lately. At least that´s my feeling.
I mean i have a few i like (Daughter for dessert for example) and sure i can fap to a picture i see in a Visual novel, but that´s about it. In pixel or sprite art i can see more then just my own lust level rising. For me it´s in some way simply some way of art like any normal game too...just with a little bonus i guess. A visual novel can´t give me that.

Like, look at the angle of the boobs relative to the torso. She was also actually skinnier in terms of arm/neck, and I'm pretty sure even torso. Compare that with the new one:

I'll definitely spread the word that the project has resurfaced, although I don't think I'll support it myself since I've vastly preferred Krystal's older design. Well, that and I'm mostly interested in games that I'll be able to play in a foreseeable future.

Still, good luck to the devs. You seem dedicated and there's quite a bit of promise here, hopefully you'll deliver a product you can be proud of. Shame about the 0.8 but sometimes shit really does happen.

Jeez I graduated highschool and finshed college before one of any of these LoK games have been completed. I like the old "starting" games (the flash ones) and the ones made off them. I liked the 3d part of their last game but the game it self just felt like it was a patch-work monster, as in the half of the game felt like a compleatly different game than the later half in more ways than just simple progression as in stuff was added in and upgraded with no real changed to the start, there was an update for the start that changed some stuff but overall you can see what was old and new. So I just hope that this game will feel like the same game from start to end and not just a we've just started and we'll get better as we go seeing how this is their second try at this
