i think the biggest thing plaguing these krystal games is that everyone that would play it has such an unrealistically high expectation born of a nostalgia for a kind-of-ok-to-mid-as-fuck flash game from almost twenty years ago that was made with such little effort that the lack of effort lent it its own sort of charm, that anything bearing the same name or similar drowns under the pressure of fulfilling those misplaced nostalgic expectations and flounders to look both just unique enough to appease the 'its just lok again why dont i play the original at this point' crowd, and just enough like its inspiration to stave off the the 'its not the same therefore its bad' crowd. and with the death of flash these nostalgic recreations are all we get, unless someone goes through the effort to remake the original games in a different engine, and if someone did that, we would immediately realize that the original lok games are cringe as fuck and were only good by virtue of lack of innovation. like Axel f by crazy frog
A game that the development team has been creating for 5 years since my last launch on a computer. She has not progressed beyond the initial location. There are fewer animations than in the flash game, which had 15, and 15 more between missions. This game will be lucky if it has 10 animations. Let's remember their project "Legend of Krystal: Rebirth [v0.8]", where there are about 20 animations and an unfinished plot. It was interesting to watch and play the flash game in a new style. What's here? Walking left and right? Walking back and forth? Cooking food? That was 5 years ago.
And then you factor on ShineSL, where he does his own spin on the Legends of Krystal. Unfortunately, xvideos (
one which he considers more important than patreon) decided that this game,
especially a Krystal game, is too good for this world and axed all of the videos he posted.
In less than 4 years (yes, this game was made in 2020), it has completed 2 chapters and a 3rd one concerning the lizard people. I'm not sure if the amount of scenes are equal of the flash game, but it certainly feels like something is happening. A story, a fucking story, is being made. And he did all of this on his own with a shoestring budget.
And what does Kuja offer for having a 3 year headstart, an enormous amount of 'donations', and a team?

The whole scene perfectly represents the flash game (artifact), ShineSL (tony) and LOK tribes (the science people, plural), and us (as Stain) in a nutshell.
