I try to see it that way, but considering that the art comes from the same person who drew the previous game... I wouldn't know what to say....

Now, when it comes to special dates to expose designs like this and then present you with a game like this, I interpret that they take people for idiots.

yea I agree there is a big discrepancy here.
Thing is, its not only a discrepancy between the promotional material and the in-game 2D stuff,
it also exists as a difference between the in-game CGs and the in-game 2D stuff.

Is this an actual joke or what? Just got to the village after skipping what used to be the tutorial and it's immediately all "this is the end of the story for now"

Also I walked behind the chieftan and I literally can't get out now so I'll have to restart it, bruh

Now I've tried to start the job to wash the pot and it spawned me in the waterfall map and there's literally nothing to do?? I can't even leave the area I'm just stuck, what's the point in that task being there if you can't do it or am I missing something?

Now trying to work at the tavern where it wants you to mix drinks but not one thing explained how to make each drink beforehand are you legit just supposed to guess?

EDIT from the comments I knew this would be lacking but holy shit just bring the old version back, it looked so much better in every conceivable way. Seeing that huge ass world map just makes me laugh, it took them this long to do barely the first village and they're pretending there's a world to explore, it would probably take genuinely 100 years at this rate. What an absolute waste of time and money. All this just for the novelty of being able to run up and down the screen a bit.

WELCOME TO THE LAUNCHER FOR THE ... *checks notes* what? I can't run an ad like th- okay fine!...
WELCOME TO THE LAUNCHER FOR THE CURRENT ITERATION OF LEGEND OF KRYSTAL~ (REBIRTH-REBORN, it's like Kingdom Hearts)
Yes it's just a launcher and it has been for nearly 4 years. Congratulations!
You completed it in record time. ✨⭐⭐⭐✨

Don't worry, that one guy told me 5 years ago that I didn't know what I was talking about and he's got this.
Just you wait for the dynamic costumes (currently a button), the deep action combat (?), the enthralling story (???) and customisation and development on levels heretofore unseen! (you get it)

Oh and I've only seen one person mention this before, but you have to get on their Patreon, then on their Discord, and then get a link to another Discord, to get the link to download the """"game"""". This thing fails on every level, including its barrier for entry. Someone told me it feels like an NFT game and it might as well be one given how vacuous and missing all the content is.

game with great potential, it's a shame that it's so stagnant... the old version was splendid too and has been abandoned... I don't have much hope for it anymore even if I understand. well the possible problems for production

i think the biggest thing plaguing these krystal games is that everyone that would play it has such an unrealistically high expectation born of a nostalgia for a kind-of-ok-to-mid-as-fuck flash game from almost twenty years ago that was made with such little effort that the lack of effort lent it its own sort of charm, that anything bearing the same name or similar drowns under the pressure of fulfilling those misplaced nostalgic expectations and flounders to look both just unique enough to appease the 'its just lok again why dont i play the original at this point' crowd, and just enough like its inspiration to stave off the the 'its not the same therefore its bad' crowd. and with the death of flash these nostalgic recreations are all we get, unless someone goes through the effort to remake the original games in a different engine, and if someone did that, we would immediately realize that the original lok games are cringe as fuck and were only good by virtue of lack of innovation. like Axel f by crazy frog

Legend of Krystal: Rebirth was an idea similar to that of flash games. This is a shit designed to create a Legend of Krystal without making a Legend of Krystal. But, how to benefit from the Petreon income of Legend of Krystal: Rebirth without making a Legend of Krystal? Doing something that resembles it and with little interest in doing it because you are obliged to do it. It's just based on fooling those who have their brains in their dick with the promise of making something that looks like a Legend of Krystal: Rebirth.

With the current team as shown, it's doubtful that it had potential to begin with.

“Power doesn’t corrupt, it reveals." - Robert Caro

It's difficult to assess whether the influx of wealth revealed either the corruption or the inadequacies to actually upholding a decent roadmap. Just recently, Doggie Bones' Happy Hearts Panic was marked abandoned for not having any updates on the progress of the game's update. That too, also suffers from an inconsistent roadmap. The developer does show he isn't incompetent, but it does reveal a sense of unpreparedness to handle the flux of development. The LOK tribes has shown to be more bloated and dithered on its updates by comparison.

LOK: Rebirth never had the momentum of Happy Hearts Panic since probably 2021, nor had it had any significant story progression since the original release almost a decade ago. At this point, I am getting pretty tired on commenting on LOK rebirth, only coming here between quarters and half years to see if anything is happening.

..unless someone goes through the effort to remake the original games in a different engine, and if someone did that, we would immediately realize that the original lok games are cringe as fuck and were only good by virtue of lack of innovation.
pointless post.

the original LOK existed at a time when "no one made porn of this character" that was animated, with varied positions that ended with a climax.
nice then, nice now.

2016 happened and there was suddenly good 3D porn of Krystal, etc.

the current build of LoK is the definition of cringworthy, in that a funded multi man project has poorer, cringe inducing writing and arguably less satisfying animations than a slapped together passion project from 2008.

can't tell if you have terrible taste or secret dev alt account.

literally no point coming in here to criticise the 2008 flash game, when this thread and project (on paper) should be doing better.

A game that the development team has been creating for 5 years since my last launch on a computer. She has not progressed beyond the initial location. There are fewer animations than in the flash game, which had 15, and 15 more between missions. This game will be lucky if it has 10 animations. Let's remember their project "Legend of Krystal: Rebirth [v0.8]", where there are about 20 animations and an unfinished plot. It was interesting to watch and play the flash game in a new style. What's here? Walking left and right? Walking back and forth? Cooking food? That was 5 years ago.

And then you factor on ShineSL, where he does his own spin on the Legends of Krystal. Unfortunately, xvideos (one which he considers more important than patreon) decided that this game, especially a Krystal game, is too good for this world and axed all of the videos he posted.

In less than 4 years (yes, this game was made in 2020), it has completed 2 chapters and a 3rd one concerning the lizard people. I'm not sure if the amount of scenes are equal of the flash game, but it certainly feels like something is happening. A story, a fucking story, is being made. And he did all of this on his own with a shoestring budget.

And what does Kuja offer for having a 3 year headstart, an enormous amount of 'donations', and a team?

To quote Obadiah Stain The whole scene perfectly represents the flash game (artifact), ShineSL (tony) and LOK tribes (the science people, plural), and us (as Stain) in a nutshell.
