I wonder which game Legend of Krystal: Rebirth, originally created and hosted on the fan site of the popular Playshapes porn game "Legend of Krystal", of which the site is named after, is a remake of. If only we had some sort of clue. Alas such knowledge will be lost to time itself due to this unsolvable riddle.Okay, but which game is it a remake of, then?
There are a ton of LoK games made prior to Rebirth. And I'm pretty sure the devs outright said that Rebirth was not directly based on any of of those in particular.I wonder which game Legend of Krystal: Rebirth, originally created and hosted on the fan site of the popular Playshapes porn game "Legend of Krystal", of which the site is named after, is a remake of. You're kidding yourself when you say version 0.8 was almost done."hey guys were almost done with this one
I literally name dropped the original game and its creator and you still don't get it... The games you're referring to aren't named such by coincidence, they're all using the same game as their basis. It's actually kind of really insulting to Playshapes that you didn't know that, considering how much of a contribution he's made to the flash porn genre (games with his assets are still being made to this day despite having retired 8 years ago) and the Krystal porn fandom. There are a ton of LoK games made prior to Rebirth. For the first part, I was being overtly sarcastic since the answer was very obvious, for the second part I'm not sure what progress if any was being made by Kuja at the time but they've said 2015 was when they started it (they might've typo'd, misspoke, or misremembered at the time but that never occurred to me until now). Not unsolvable, really. We based it on the first LOK, then I added mechanics from vG without even knowing I was doing that (never played that game before). So yes, this iteration is layer 3.
However, I'm at a loss when you say it's been made since 2015. I found Kuja's request for help around Dec 2016.
They scrapped the old version, this is them restarting from scratch again.I'm assuming they're using this to test new experimental stuff? If it goes well, they'll probably use some of the new assets and implement it to the previous game. Either that or this is its own thing now. Either way this awesome!
My understanding is kuja, the artist for the game, felt like the groundwork, engine, or something for the game was making the progress on it way too slow. So, kuja hired a team to essentially reboot the project. The new team released the 3D tech demo in the first post, but a lot of people were unhappy with the 3D aspect. So, they're reworking it to be more of a 2D or 2.5D game like the original was, and that's where the project currently is. It's been mentioned that several aspects of the character are planned to be customizable to some degree, like the fur color. So they scrapped the old one and made a remake of the rebirth. I wont considering supporting the devs until there is actually more progress in this game than the last one. Also I like the previous character design a lot more than this new one.
We're getting some Krystal content, that's for sure. But whether this will end up as a finished game is another matter entirely.Still though, at least we're getting a new Krystal game.
I did know that. But I think it's different. There are plenty of LoK games, like I said. Often very different from another, but with the same character(s) and (bits of) concept attached. But in this case we have a remake of one specific game. A remake by (partly) the same developers, using the same story ideas and such.I literally name dropped the original game and its creator and you still don't get it... The thread for Rebirth was created on December 1, 2016. I don't remember if there was anything before that that was made public, but for now I'd agree with Abelius here and keep it at late 2016. So nearly four years of development at this point.they've said 2015 was when they started it (they might've typo'd, misspoke, or misremembered at the time but that never occurred to me until now).
As do I, but I think the character customization that they've shown in the past does make up for it a bit. The default look of Krystal is not that similar to the way she looked in Rebirth, but you will be able to make her look closer to that in the game. Also I like the previous character design a lot more than this new one.
