Maybe it's just me, but it seems to be implying that he is getting better, but I haven't played through in a while, and I am working on playing and writing too many stories right now, so I admit, I could be mistaken. It's easy to get things mixed up.
I didn't feel like he was getting too much better at that in particular. But I figure by the end of the game he will. He's learning other stuff really fast.
The Stats could be easily explained as the NG+ mechanic again... those will be carried over.
I like that idea as to why he has knowledge locked away in his brain. Also, I like sniffing the girls too.

Don't get too high expectations. Building those group scenes is extremely time-consuming and wouldn't really make sense for most of the girls. Right now there is the Fairy Queen / Erato thing, Evelyn / Callie, and there is a tease about a potential Nell / rich woman scene. There might be more than this in the future (one, in particular, is almost certain to happen for story reasons), but keep your expectations low since there's still a ton of other stuff to get to first.oh man
