Ugh, i hope not the beautiful one in the game...There is definitely blood in this update. In more than one scene, too.
But every great story always has big sacrifice inside it.. So, let's enjoy the game

Don't get frustrated, Belle. It's been a little frustrating to watch people rank LLtP's story because of the way I've structured the thing. Because the majority of the game is buildup and putting puzzle pieces in place, almost all of the resolution and payoff comes at the very end. This makes the storytelling feel a little aimless until the ending is in place, and I feel like this has made people rate the storytelling lower than I think it maybe deserves. But we'll have to wait and see.
I can't wait to show everyone what we've been building up to these past three years. Pretty much all of the stories in the game, big and small, will be resolved within the next few updates, starting with 0.32. Oh yeah, you'll be getting some resolutions right away, and not the ones you're expecting (as well as some you might be expecting).
Sure, but that kind of thing is not really what I was talking about. What I was referring to were the kinds of threads where the people who actually care about story rank the various games and creators against each other. I usually (but not always) get an honorary mention in such rankings, but LLtP has never been able to compete properly. I think it's because of the lack of resolution and payoff in the story, but it remains to be seen.Don't get frustrated, Belle.
Some people only play these games for the sex.
I had posted the below comment in another thread for a different game, but it also fits perfectly with this game. (edited slightly to fit this game better.)
"Some people come here looking for games with deep and detailed stories and they don't care if the sex comes slowly to the game. As long as the story and build up are good.
Other people come here for:
"Man: Excuse me, are you my long lost daughter?
Girl: YES!!!
Girl: FUCK ME DADDY!!!!!!!!!!!
Girl: Make me your WHORE!!!!!!
Man: ummmm, OK!"
A story is not really needed at all, just a few simple details about the characters. All that you need is an occasional line of dialogue that leads you to the next fuck fest. These people will sometimes throw a fit and complain about any game where they cannot boink large numbers of characters very soon after the game started. They also tend to leave bad reviews for the same reasons. They simply do not care about stories, they only care about pixel sex.
This story is not for people who want the second option, because as seen, it took a very long time for character buildup and creating the foundation for the game. Because this game is story based, and heavily dependent on following a slow, but steady progression of the characters and the story, just the way that a lot of people like it. "
Maybe for your next game you should include in bold text in the original post for it., "IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GAME WITH QUICK SEX, THIS GAME IS NOT FOR YOU!!!"
Although, I would not be surprised if you still got people whining about the slow progression ,and lack of sex with everyone in the game at the very beginning.
Belle try not to bother much with those lists.Sure, but that kind of thing is not really what I was talking about. For me, it's because LLtP isn't lean to story-driven type as much as other game despite of good story. So it doesn't feel right to put LLtP in competition with CoBD, LoML, AL etc.Sure, but that kind of thing is not really what I was talking about. Totally agree. It is curious that the developers of games with this type of genre (fantastic, medieval) are precisely the best games they are doing in terms of storyline quality, game system and choices.I was blown away with the overall quality and content of LLTP. Seriously head and shoulders above most of the VN`s on here. Yeah those just wanting their rocks off, might not want to put the work in. Those of us who love story content, choices with consequences, and even just the beautiful renders, can`t help but feel awed by this masterpiece. AAA quality.
easier to setup than games set on modern time since no need make big cities or immersion of big population and many places (cafes, theaters, etc) and a lot other things and more freedom for characters.Totally agree. Absolutely. I love RPG`s probably the most of all the genres. LLTP and Void Calling are for me, a real breath of fresh air in the VN world. Feels like much more content and depth to the overall game. I want badly to find out what happens if I choose A or B in the storyline. Not just, bang `em and rinse, repeat.Totally agree. U should try the game in my signatures link, is another fantastic genre game, ataegina, it doesnt have too many content as LLTP but for me is sooooo good srsly, and the dev is also constant and comunicative as Belle so he deserves a few more love hahaAbsolutely. Well, it doesn't have to be that way. Although you base your game on the contemporary or future age, you do not have to include many elements or population for the game to have quality, there are examples of non-fantastic games that have solved it very well and without including so many things, it is based more on that the developer is clear about the idea of the universe he is creating, and less about putting unnecessary things. Belle shows that she is a developer who has worked a lot in the world of LLTP and hence the quality of it.easier to setup than games set on modern time since no need make big cities or immersion of big population and many places (cafes, theaters, etc) and a lot other things and more freedom for characters.
It's more about the side effects that add to the universe of the lore... medievil fantasy setting has magic, futuristic settings have supernatural technology that expand on the normal human capabilities... but real time settings tend to be boring as they are far to strongly tied to a persons every day live... it takes A LOT of skill to write upon a compelling story in that setting without makeing the people feel like they play "The Sims".Well, it doesn't have to be that way. Agree with you. I suppose that each genre and era in which you base your work has its pros and cons. For example, if you base your game on today, you have the context created, however if you base it on something medieval you must create from scratch all the lore, from the races that inhabit your world (orcs, elves, dwarves, witches, unknown races etc) and let's be honest, if in today's world you can give the feeling of playing the sims, in a medieval world you will always be compared to great stories of this, as may be the case of the works created by Tolkien, Martin or Sapkowski, that is to say that it is not as if creating a fantastic universe was all that simple. It's more about the side effects that add to the universe of the lore... medievil fantasy setting has magic, futuristic settings have supernatural technology that expand on the normal human capabilities... but real time settings tend to be boring as they are far to strongly tied to a persons every day live... it takes A LOT of skill to write upon a compelling story in that setting without makeing the people feel like they play "The Sims".
The surprising part is that Belle did not follow suit with useing overhelming magic and sword skills to write up the sory of a chosen one slaying the demon king, but rather an avarage city dwelling Joe becomeing involved with a power struggle so much bigger than him... yet he is not faceing his foes on any battle field, but uses smarts and a little wicked mind
