Not really needed. Also, there aren't any super detailed scenes, so if you are looking for NTR, this game will likely not satisfy.
i noticed that the last few updates were really focused on the story, dont want to sound like im bashing, but since the changelogs dont really say it(and i have been holding on until there's alot of content to go through), how many events have been added the last couple updates?

Not many. It's about the story right now, setting up for the endgame. But there are still some.
I played this game a while back just when I was getting into VNs and quite liked it back then. Maybe it was just that I was aware of the story that I used this game as no more than a time sink while waiting for other games. Now, I was playing with the manual and I see that there's some new content in the latest update. Boy that story twist. I only read a little bit before I got the idea and was piecing things together as I gone. Boy, now I'm all excited for this game like I was before.

It's been reported many, many times. You just didn't search for the right thing since your name wasn't reset.
This bug is fixed in the next version, anyway.
