This is one of those games that has great potential but is being weighed down by its flaws. When it comes to erotic visual novels plot and logic mostly play a secondary (or no) role. That is specifically the case in incest games. Every girl in your family has the hottsies for you and spread their legs for you as soon as you enter the room. In my case, the plot plays an integral role. If I want to see senseless fucking I can just watch porn. I play games to immerse myself in the world and play out the story. This is one of the few games here which have an interesting story to tell and sex is an actual bonus but as I said before the flaws weigh it down.
let's talk about the flaws:
1. Scene transition: this game transitions from one scene to another very quickly. At times it feels like the scene/dialog isn't over yet but we are already moving to the next scene. A simple black screen with text like "after the conversation the "MC" went home... bla bla bla..." would be enough.
2. Text repeating itself: In certain scenes, we see the dialog repeating itself multiple times. As an example, we see that happening in the scene where the FBI tries to capture someone. The long dialog repeats itself 4 or 5 times despite the renders changing. It could have been avoided by chopping the dialog of in parts and gradually putting it on the screen. It also happens prior but in a different way. In the scene with Senator negotiation, we see Zel with a mismatched dialog which is probably meant for the Senator lady. Then we get a dialog option (if you want to succeed him in the mafia) which IMO never plays out. After which we see the same dialog again, this time in the right position I guess.
3. Spelling: I understand that English isn't the native language of a lot of developers and some work in very small teams or solo but Zather instead od Father? I'm fine with some engrish but the words need to make sense. Maybe it is a word I don't know as English isn't my native tongue either but this z in front of words happens a few times.
Don't get me wrong as I really want to play the game to its conclusion and want it to succeed but stuff like this really breaks the immersion for me.
Hi, thank you for your critique.
1. We've been told the scene transitions have been jarring since pretty much the beginning so yeah, we're working on ways to make them less so.
2. It's actually not the text repeating itself, or at least, we didn't intend for it to be the case. AG was considering using multiple images for the same text to signify events happening in quick succession but again, multiple people have found that confusing so we'll fix that in the next update.
3. We've got a team of proofreaders and the coder we recently hired is a pretty good editor. I think this should not be a problem from the next update, or at least, it will be less of a problem.
I am all for "slow burns" but if that "slow burn" means 15 updates and 2 years later to finally get a half assed handjob I say.. fuck that noise.
The problem is, Slow burns and such can be good IF 2 factors are checked, that is size and content per update must be adequate and must be consistent. And guess what, both of those are issues that don't happen. Example of this is quite simple, so many good games out there done by groups/teams and the last few months have had some disappointing releases. Either short or non at all and loaded with excuses, DESPITE the fact that with the Covid most people being at home and having been staying home, this would have been the golden time to bring out strong and big releases. But that has not been the case at all.
I am not saying that Sihil and his team are guilty of this, I am just saying that is just the general case this year.
Also there have been lot of reworks/remasters/rewrites/restarts. Same goes for many people spouting brilliant idea's but that those need extra time and etc ( meaning delays ) but nothing to show for it.
Slow burns are alright, DMD did it pretty good honestly, lot of content per update and you still got some action on the side to keep things interesting. A good example of Slow burn done wrong is AWAM, shit has been out for ages and my god the updates takes ages and the amount you get for it just is not justifiable.
Over here on LoI I gotta say with the rework and also as to why the carl thing has been taken out just made sense, yes it was a hot scene and etc but it just did not make sense in term of the story to have that happen. Yes the mother in this case does not remember it but you as the MC DO and you are working under him and him being a mentor figure I would legit never ever respect or even have any sympathy for em. The way it is written now, makes it so there is a lot more options to choose from as he has not exactly done anything yet that warrants you wanting to rip him to pieces.
I am definitely looking forward to more of this game and it's content and after the things that Sihil said that needs to be done, I am hoping to see if the updates will be a bit more consistent and frequent.
Honestly, our game being a slow burn wouldn't make a ton of sense anyway. For one thing, the setting calls for absolutely everything to be faster-paced than most games. Take peasant's quest, for instance, there's no overarching plot or a world-ending catastrophe so Tinkerer can take as long as he wants to develop the relationships in the game. But that also means working on a single project for like, four years. I really don't want to work on a single game for
that long, especially since I intend on making around 3 big loosely connected sequels/sidequels to LoI and 3 smaller ones.
i put the incest patch and it only call her mom 1 or twice and her name is still Sara isn't any good patch out there
Incest patch is a mess right now but Rich is fixing it as we speak. I think you won't have that complain by the next update.
when part 3 of chp3 ? and is it gonna be final part ? or we'll wait for more ?
Now we'll move on to chapter 4, the ending seemed final enough for this chapter imo. As for when it will be out, I really shouldn't give a deadline only to end up blowing past it. Wait for the status update, I guess.
