The re-write is massively flawed.
There are still mentions of Carl trying to murder you and your landlady later in the game. I also had weird, out of place scenes or scene transitions happen: Like I was suddenly on a date with my therapist when there was no mention or indication as too why beforehand! And another weird one was when was starting a phone call with Carl but suddenly is talking with Zel, like you are missing a page from a book that you are reading.
I like the writing and the ladies in this plenty enough but if the emphasis on story takes over, while the story gets banged up like this, it will just end up being a train wreck. Also, the sex scenes could be longer!

As others have said, if you keep on changing/reworking your early chapters so much, it can completely kill the game's momentum and the interest of the player base.

rape of a MC love interest not by MC is a form of NTR, Netoraze I believe is the actual name. Also I think the issue may have been that it was supposed to be optional? dunno, the game seems to be heavily choose your own path, so NTR in the non-ntr path wouldn't work... not to mention those that would play said path wouldn't well... play it cause not optional. Although I don't remember any unavoidable NTR myself from playing the earlier releases. just that it was annoying to avoid. (you had to stay outside but when you went back in nothing happened, maybe some people got confused by that? cause it wasn't the chose to watch or ignore, it was if you go back in they will do something, if you have a little faith they won't).

Edit: Actually no "else:" needed, less work just to move the "return" so it's on the same level as the "if olivia_dl_uses == 0:" block.

The game is buggy and the writing is off. The QC for this game is horrible.

Can someone that knows about the game give me a short TL;DR what the reboot means?

I feel like I'm missing a scene close to the end with the girlfriend. Didn't we use Darklight on her, had some rough sex involving deepthroat in the living room? She wore some really suggestive clothes too, if I remember correctly.

What happened, do the developers want to go for a more vanilla game now?

The rough sex with darlkight is still in there but yes, the plot is just all over the damn place at the moment. Shame as this looked interesting....I'm giving it one more update before deciding whether to carry on with it or forget it.

Tried this game for the first time...
Graphics are good, however the story itself is what made me intrigued.
Could be one of the gems on here.
However I've caught some errors. With patch applied

I gave up on this game as the dev was mixing paths to such a level that it made the non-NTR path unplayable for me. But, at least the dev was trying for us players who don't like NTR. So, kudos to him for trying. I wish him well on this.

There seem to be two main misconceptions about the game that I should clear up.
1. This is not a reboot, a remake, or a rewrite. We didn't market it as such in the Patron-only posts. It was a code overhaul and was called the same.
2. Secondly, everyone seems to think that we went out of our way for this "reboot" and didn't create any new content because of it. This is not true either. Sznuk (Agentgames) was either away or otherwise inactive for most of the last month which meant no progress on the renders so we had paused charging the patrons last month. In the meantime, I kept writing for the next episode and Rich worked on the overhaul. So in actuality, this was just efficient and effective use of the time that would have been otherwise spent on doing nothing.

Either way, I see that a whole bunch of bugs slipped past us and the proofreaders. Needless to say, they will be fixed soon as Rich gets his hands on them.

That scene has been gone for months now. The reason was that it violated Patreon's ToS and the fact that it didn't fit the story that I had in mind. That being said, depending on your choices it will be brought back eventually.

Heads-up to the dev, there's a typo in chapter1_05.rpy. When you're kidnapped by the mafia to be the getaway driver and you're given the option to betray them or not, the "chapter1_05_getaway_path" flag gets set to 1 no matter which you pick. Doesn't break anything, just gives some wrong dialogue later on.

When you meet them at the casino the dialogue acts as if you chose to proceed with option one even after you actually chose option 2
Furthermore when Carl takes you downstairs in the initial meeting of the two goons at the casino the dialogue shows "<Your Landlady> won't have to work three jobs to make ends meat anymore"

Best of luck. The thing I really like(d) about the vn is the dark edge feel to it but also the options to avoid it. That balance to me is a great fun. I'm still ready for more

Oh I get that...not a huge NTR fan myself depending on the game/characters. Sometimes it doesn't bother me at all, other times not interested in it and believe unless the game is styled/written that way, it should always be easily avoidable. But that doesn't excuse that some scenes now make no sense (as a poster above noted), like missing a page from a book...it no longer flows well..dialogue is still in that should have been cut etc. It's just a little messy right now despite how much I actually like the concept/story.

I only get the scene in which I use darklight to have anal sex with her, but not the 'last' one.
