Just Baal fiddling around when he was re-working the tutorial awhile back. Posted on his Discord.
Pretty sure he posted it here on the F95 forum too, I just couldn't find it with a quick search.

tell me how u can enjoy this and how. maybe explain how u get into it and what made u love it.

Baals forum sig banner says alot about the type of games he makes.

And he's not the sort that does much 'hand holding' in his games after the tutorial (which covers the basics pretty well)
You gotta figure it out yourself (or engage with other members of the community to get hints/answers).

I enjoy the challenge of, once I've learn how the game works, finding the most efficient path through the game.
I play because it a game that forces me to use my damn brain, and that's fun.

I think my fav summary of this game is:
It's not a porn game. It's a game with porn.

so how can I use my brain to understand this: (taken from the walkthrought)

Diane: Mother: Starting AT. AT Change Options: Relaxed Mother Gain relationship (clean the living room, watch tv with her, dinner). She will interrupt you during Videogames in the afternoon (-5 relationship) or if you watch porn (-15 relationship, -25 relationship and +6 incest xp (for Diane) if you ejaculate). Weekdays: Watch TV from 13:00 to 15:00 (can interact). Nap at 16:00 if Kitchen and Living room are ‘messy’ or better, otherwise she cleans those locations (you lose relationship if it is the living room she is cleaning, as that is your chore.) Friday at 23:00 is an animated scene in her bedroom with Richard. A early source of stealth and incest. Weekends: 14:00-15:00 in bedroom reading. You can talk 16:00 cleaning the kitchen if it is dirty.

to play I need to know this as well. without a quest-tracker I need to get a walkthrought or play hours to guess how to play it. games should explain that, not force u to ask for help from other members.

It makes sense when you understand the game. First and most important, read the tutorial in the main menu, after that try to "play" and don't check the UNOFICIAL walkthrought unless you are looking for something specific after you understood how the game works.

Also a good tip for new players use the shortkeys "C" to check the cheatsheets and "TAB" for your topics

I play RPG/strategy games so Im familiar with complex gameplay, but this is not that.
usually in RPG it makes sense. I train swordmanship to get better at that as I like using swords.
or learn some magic skills if I want to be a mage.

a good way to easily understand the game is to think of yourself as an expert manipulator. You want girls to do what you want, and to do that you have to talk a little bit about what they like and then get into their heads what you want, so you can change the way they see the world and get them to fall into your net. But first just like in the rpg's games you are talking about you must train your skills, you can't talk about massage if you don't practice first.

In my opinion it's a good game, but it can be a GREAT game with a few QOL changes, I'm sure that with time the developer will add them, at least that's what he has demonstrated for now, see my review of 9 months ago when I played it for the first time, I criticized it a lot, but the developer fixed a lot of things and continues to do so.

halil123 I read the tutorial. but that didn't help me get into the "mood" of the game. its not intuitive. lots of buttons and tags that I find uninteresting without context.

lhucio yes, I installed the cheat, but that also make little sense since its just variables. as long I feel detached its just that and not traits of a character. similar to a RPG, I see the sword, I see the output damage. here I see numbers with low-quality graphics boxes, like a game from the 90'. the UI sucks.

there should be more presentations. instead of just starting in your room it should have at least a day where its pure VN. now Im just there in a place I don't know anything about, people I don't know and care. sure I know he is pissed off and he want revenge, quite pathetic but thats the MC, but other then that its very thin. a porn-game should make me interested in the girls. right now they are not at all. and I don't care about the MC. I wish I could just start killing them all.

But that's what cheats are for. Speaking of, how does infinite topic limit work?

Infinite Topic Limit is a cheat that pretty much removes the limit of topics you can store, so instead of 50 or 70, or whatever your skill and other factors would set as maximum, you can collect 99999 I think it is.. without needing to spend/destroy/trashcan any to make room for new ones.

I never tried the cheat so i don't know what are you talking about. As a side note, the protagonist does not want any revenge.

What is clear is that we have different tastes, I hate VN, I am on this forum to try porn GAMES.

The game has no goals, (apart from having sex with a lot of women). You "transform" women to change their thinking and willingness to have more sex. The quest tracker, if you want to use that term, is the character pages.

Without cheats the game is a grindfest. You can use a cheatmod or use notepad.

I've got all the interests, got the stats, it says I need to have intoxication at 40+ saturday night near closing at the bar, but cant figure out how thats possible? only 2 chances to drink at the bar together with her before the bar closes and her intoxication drops too fast. seriously, wtf?

If it's the event I'm thinking of you need to drive to the bar. Walking takes time so you lose 1 'turn' at drinking.
Steal/beg for (depending on rep, etc) Diane's keys earlier in the day.

Sadly that site is not yet updated to the new game version, also it doesn't include a full guide to all scenes, as some event's have multiple scene outcomes, so your statement above is somewhat misleading
It's a good place to get a better idea of how to progress the earlier versions of the game, but not a total complete guide.
As it's fandom made, it can take months before all the new stuff is included and even then we can be sure it would include everything.. as it doesn't include everything in the older versions yet

Realistically, if you're not interested in the core loop of "realistically" changing a person to your desires through sprinkling in new interests to their original interests, this game isn't going to be for you. Night city has yet to complete a game to any satisfactory point so it'll just be tech demo after tech demo, so you just have to be invested in the theme to enjoy it.

Like his other games, it's simply simulation where you're enjoying the freedom more than the story telling so there's really no convincing you or whatever to these games.

I'm more of an excel spreadsheet gamer and I can fill in whatever blanks with my own stories so it's not a big issue.
