This is not about making a LI optional.
What I mean is that by offering the player the choice, you increase the taboo.
The forbidden fruit.
The more innocent and pure Kailey is, the more the MC would want to protect rather than corrupt her. By corrupting her, he would be corrupting himself. But he already hates himself for his porn addiction. Corrupting Kailey would make him hate himself even more. If this were a childhood romance story, there would be no corruption, it could just be pure love. But in this case, with the MC being married, the difference in age and experience, not to mention the incest, well...
Is there a way out?
Could there be a good ending, like in Triangle? Justine seems kinky enough to go for it, once she gets over the initial shock.

When there is no choice how to approach this dilemma, then the taboo becomes meaningless and empty. Like in a FPS game, shooting hordes of zombies is meaningless, but if, when you are close to the end of the game, your best friend turns out to be aiding the enemy and you get to choose to shoot her or let her go, then that is meaningful. Even more so if she returns at the very end of the game to help you or to complete the betrayal.

The thing is... a father should not fall in love with his daughter. The wrongness is the taboo. The daughter should find a man of her own and leave her father to start a family of her own. That's the normal way of the world.
I get that this is not the porn way and also not why we are here.
But this game attempts to approach the topic in a more realistic manner than other games.
So...
Our Fate had this guy, I think his was Lucas (?), he was a douchebag and fortunately Claire found out fairly soon. However I would not have objected if she had ended up being with Anna. At least I would have liked to see that ending besides the ending where Claire ends up with the MC. Both endings of course being hypothetical since Our Fate isn't finished.
I hope Lost at Birth does get similar options.
And anyone who thinks that's NTR should probably see a doctor.

Nah, I gotcha. In the really real world the things that are wrong that we think are right here are actually really wrong and by being so realistic you feel the wrong/right things are feeling too real and not really right anymore. Got it. But let's say that the author is so skilled, like NaughtyRoad of LomL-fame. Then, in that case, couldn't that really real but still wrong thing all of a sudden be very much real and oh so deliciously, wonderfully right?

Of course a father should not have those kind of feelings for his daughter but this is a PORN GAME where Kailey is clearly presented as the main love interest. If you want an option where the MC fixes his marriage and doesn't have a sexual relationship with Kailey then that's fine but if she started a relationship with someone else, it would just piss people off (including me). It's a bad idea.
I didn't play Our Fate so i won't comment on it.

With one remark: due to the shared trauma of the loss of the mother / wife in LomL, there seems no other option besides going too far with the intimacy in order to heal. Thus the incest seems in a way the logical solution.
In this case (and in Our Fate even moreso) at least the MC is in a fairly stable position. And his new-found daughter is practically a stranger so there is no shared trauma, only the separate trauma's of the MC and the daughter. So it would make sense that the MC could aim mainly to help the daughter while attempting to patch up his marriage and/or fool around with the receptionist.

That is the question. I have the feeling that this game could be of a higher quality than the mindless incest harem games where everybody just swoons when they see the Mighty Dick of the MC regardless of how they are related to him.
If there is a dilemma presented to the player about what he wants the outcome to be, then there are also reasons not to choose the corrupting options, like peeking, feeling her up, sleep sex etc. On the other hand, a mechanic like "corrution +1, love -1" could also work in these cases, where corruption > 10 => corruption path and love > 10 => love path.
Anyway, a game aiming for realism without such meaningful choices would be meaningless.
To be fully clear, I am not talking about the MC getting off on it, or the sex between Kailey and the third person being shown or even implied to on screen. That is not at all what I am suggesting. If there were to be such an ending, I hope she stays a virgin until marriage and the person she ends up with to be a genuinely good and likeable person.
Again, that would be the best solution any father could hope for IRL.
what it comes down to ids how many people would actually play that route if it not poular it would be tough to justify the time put into it

Let me rephrase that: it would be nice to know what kind of update schedule the devs are aiming for.
Ch. 2 took about half a year. Or 4.5 months to be more precise. Which is fine but it would be good if we knew what we could more or less expect.
My gods, the dev really loves depth of field, huh? The images look like someone rubbed vaseline all over the screen. Relax, human eye is not a shitty camera, we experience some depth of field but you're overdoing it.
