Killing off a character can have multiple "reasons" for storytelling IMO. Of course, it could be the result of a plot twist, but also it could add an emotional situation which causes new events. Another thing that might be interesting is that if a character dies out of nowhere the audience is not feeling "safe" anymore, it can cause an all-time fear of someone potentially dying since all the "work" doesn't matter.

Yes, Caitlyn will be dateable, but since she is a secondary character in some way, I'm not sure about her screen time.
To be 100 percent honest I'm not sure myself, but its my first project and I kinda love to try new things and learn from them to eventually come closer to what I find most suitable xD
Alright, even though most of you have started to act according to this, I still feel like I need to give my input on that. I really love seeing people discuss LaS and obviously, as the developer, I'm proud af. I couldn't even imagine people knowing my characters or talking about them and therefore a big humbled thank you.

I don't think that any kind of spoilerish comment gave aways anything at all. Those who actually bother to follow the thread and read the posts are all played the game already and knew the drill.. those who don't are not following the thread at all and when you see a new guy asking about some ingame stuff because he is stuck.. i guarantee you, he isn't even reading the post before his the first place, let alone a spoilerish comment on the previous page. Its advisable to avoid openly spoiler after new content release for more or less a week, but after a month.. not really. There is always a noticabe buzz when a thread appears in the Latest Updates section so spoilers can in fact spoil the fun in the first few days. But after those first few ones.. only the hardcore types like us remain to .. derail the thread

I have no problems at all with characters dying as long as it serves the plot and not just done for shock value.

No worries first few days game is out we will all be vengefully screaming, where is that item, why can I not get that scene while do have the item and so forth and people will be asking a million times for something that has been answered on the same page, till even a kind helpful person gets so annoyed he either just copies the answer from a notepad file or blows up in anger and reminds people this forum has a "search in this thread function".

I totally agree with you! To me, everything in a story has to serve a purpose as well as serve the goal of what I'm creating. I want to create an adult game with an engaging story (I'm by far not a good story writer nor game dev in general but I still try). If my focus was to shock or keep you under pressure I would make a different storytelling decision as if my goal was to create a dramatic romantic game. Depending on what I want to have, being in fear of losing a favorite character can make sense or maybe not. As well as having a happy/bad or disturbing ending. Of course, you guys are kinda in the dark since it's my first game and you don't know what I preferably do (I don't know what I'm doing myself xD)
