I am not that active on this site, so someone else who is, please correct me if I am wrong, but I think a single thread for all three books, with links to completed books below the first, is probably best in terms of exposure and drawing in new people.

I've played it here, but already Wishlisted, Followed and plan to pick it up on Steam (The Oct 30, 2020 'Release Date' is base lies and calumny.)
Dunno if dev will overall lose or gain money as a result of it being here, but fwiw in my case it will definitely be in the gain column

The more ppl who get to know a really good game, the more will love it. And some of those who love it, will support it (like I do on Patreon since a long time.) I see F95 not as a competition but as a forum where ppl will know about it. This is what many devs are not willing to understand, but Droid does
Yes. The end of game save will be imported into book 2, or if you don't have one it'll ask you some questions about what's happened so far to set up your character.
If you've just completed act IV, and started from the previous build, just keep playing. The game will have tweaked damage values for gems, fixed tiny issues (typos, continuity bugs, etc), but nothing major. The new content all happens after where you are in the storyline.
It was developed inside this community; I got tons of feedback, support, QA and most of my patreons from here. As such it makes sense to give it here for free. If you liked it, it's always nice if you want to support it, somehow.

Book 1 of 3 is finished. You've completed the end of the beginning.
Book 1 has a formal ending, yeah (Day 115 / December 31st). The story continues in Book 2.
Are there only fixes and gameplay changes from the latest public release, or are there new events?
Two new events (Day 112-114, if you're working in Crowley in the Evening shift). But mostly what's new is the 56 new achievements. Apart from that, just a ton of final mile stuff. One of the painful things about the *final* release is that you can no longer shrug to yourself and say "I'll fix it later)
And it is *live* on Steam. If you've got a Steam key, do drop it a like or a review... those things matter a lot in terms of early visibility. A huge thank to everyone who's helped test it, give feedback, reviewed it here or elsewhere, and in general given me the motivation to keep going. Dresden's definitely a *huge* inspiration (and one of several reasons why I set the Cult HQ there). Other books that made an impact; Changeling's Saga, Iron Druid, Alex Verus and anything by Terry Pratchett.
I love reading, and it definitely leaks into the game.

Steam is super-influenced by reviews, and it can absolutely make or break a game. One of the nice things about making the game here is I've spent a year with the community playing the game, poking me when I got it wrong, and in general helping me improve the game. If, after all that, you decided to go buy it... hopefully there's a chance you enjoyed it
I've been making games for 20 years this year, and it's kinda weird that the game I'm most proud of is this little porn game I started as a hobby, and spent most of the messed up year of 2020 making. But what it ended up as is mostly thanks to all of you, who played it, gave me feedback, and inspired me. This goes for everyone who's played it, reviewed it and given me feedback. But most of all to the Discord group that pushed me to make it better; I've never had a better community of gamers.
Anyway... I'll probably spend this weekend playing Cyberpunk 2077. After which, time for the War.
