I understand the need for a new artist and going back and making sure everything is consistent, but I was hoping it would at least have the same amount of content as where they left off. Instead we are back to where the .01 left off...
Pretty much. Even worse considering this situation was already known for quite some time. The new art is fine. People are making mountain out of a mole hill
It's a "i tasted amazing now i can't eat 'good enough' anymore" situation unfortunately. The new art is fine. People are making mountain out of a mole hill
An important part of GGGB's success was the fact that the developer consistently delivered updates and changed almost nothing in the game's visuals and design during development. So I feel like this comparison is unfair because art never was a strong suit of the GGGB, for example people often complained that art was traced from photos.I just cant understand the whining about the new art. Yes the old art was something else on a level never hereto seen of a silly renpy porn game. But the new stuff is still really, really good.
The reigning defending undisputed heavyweight champion of the world of silly renpy porn games is GGGB, and the new art for this game still blows GGGB's art out of the water. If Lust Campus' final form has similar love and care for the story, it could be a real contender for the title.
Also I hope none of the artists read this thread it'd be so discouraging, and if they are; I love all your work, if I was your mom I'd put it up on the fridge for sure!
It wouldn't be F95 if they weren't.The new art is fine. People are making mountain out of a mole hill
It's been explained thoroughly throughout this thread. The previous artist would require royalties to continue to use his work as long as the game was developed -- so Red Lolly would have to pay two artists, one not even involved in the project anymore. Why can't you just keep the old style of art? Great or not, the new art makes me feel this is a different game. People say: don't fix it if it is not broken. It would be more reasonable to replace the art with a better one. however, the fact is you gave up the better one and started over again from Chapter one? I am curious about why you chose to do so; it is a little confusing.
I see. It is a tragedy; it is very irresponsible for an artist to leave in the middle of the development. I think it would be a lesson to all devs: sign the long-term contract in the first place. It's been explained thoroughly throughout this thread. EDIT: Not singling you out, just yours was the latest post I was replying to, but this now being on the "Latest Updates" page is clearly bringing in a lot of easily-confused and/or belligerently-ignorant members.
Maybe if a FAQ was created, but the people who need it most won't bother.
According to afterlight, devs still need to pay the extra artist who no longer works for this project in this case.Oh no, we got the dreaded reboot? I would rather keep the art from the first 5 chapters. And switch art for chapter 6 and beyond.
That is correct, but people around here just love to complain, so here we are.According to afterlight, devs still need to pay the extra artist who no longer works for this project in this case.
