Have to add something after reading that patreon post about not working on the game if the 2500 bucks per month is not reached.
2500 $ is definitely reachable if the next updates are on time and of the same quality. But maybe it is a little bit too much to expect so many people to support you after only one release. I bet most people wait for maybe 2 or 3 updates to see if the developer is really dedicated to the project before supporting.
Anyway hope it will continue.

Wait hold up... So they will work on it if they reach the bucks per month or else this is game won't continue?

I mean.... Sounds like a money grab if there ever is one. Sure it's reachable, but to go about it in that type of demeanor though???

Any Artist worth their salt is going to charge a high amount especially if the goal is commercial. People on this website really do not understand cost from a practical perspective. 2500 is fair when you take into account writing coding and art. Which still is rather low(extremely low), industry standard for artwork is around 500~ per image ranging all the way up to 4000 for some higher jobs. The outlier cough league of legends is around 15000-20000 I wish I was joking. If a developer wants to work at a deficit it means capital is necessary to that end, furthermore, there's upfront spending for an initial release. I get it, its patreon. But you will never see extremely skilled artists(there's some but not many) enter the field until there's some indication that people are willing to support an expected higher cost team. Until that point you're going to get low skill cram trash where the art costs nothing and there's little to no innovation. For the dev if you're reading this, A practical model would be a simplistic easily derived artform that doesn't require a high time cost for painting, I already know you're photobashing which reduces the amount of time taken for individual images but a recessed version of that would be...a wiser decision. Think Cell Shaded Overwatch(y) art style. I get that you probably can't make these changes but a compromise would be to keep the general level of drawing and then a flat art style that acts as an intermediary for later images that can be easily painted on top of. Goodluck

No, not really.
This is a "proof of concept" intro to a game. Its current worth is nothing, zilch, nada.
There are industry standards for developing games and unless you are able to provide an MVP with enough content to pitch to investors, you get squat.
Project RED invested $60 mil in their MVP of Witcher 3 before they started getting additional funding and showing hefty returns.
Expecting people to pay for the "proof of concept" - OR ELSE! (they abandon the game development) is as stupid as it can get.
There is always cost involved in starting a business, if this development team is not ready for it and expect they can blackmail people to pay for it (get $3000 or we quit), then, they should just quit because they are really not serious about starting this business.

I don't know, having the most abused setting in porn games (college) where the first guy you meet is trying to molest you like it's nothing doesn't get me very confident on this BIG emphasis on the story.
The english and the fact that the only hot scene it's just one frame doesn't help.

Yes, the art style it's great but the characters are just there, on top of a flat background.

Looks more like an attempt to get easy cash than some ambitious project to me.

Nice another series with some serious high tier quality art, I look forward to how the creator approaches lin, is she actually a tsundere for tom and will be a rival, or is she will she humiliate and femdom the mc.

I look forward to finding out how this series progresses

People complaining about the devs setting a $2500 goal sounds so fucking ignorant to me. Developing a game is a full-time job, especially doing it with these amazing production values. How do you people expect these people to be able to work on this game? Artist need to get paid to devote their time to create something.

Two people are probably trying to make a living by creating a porn visual novel. What the fuck is wrong with that? Especially ironic that people are complaining about devs wanting to make money in a pirate site, by the way. It's simple: people need money to live and they get their money by working. These devs have been working in this game and if they want to keep doing so, they need to get paid. If not, they will need to find other jobs, and that would be such a fucking shame. This game looks amazing and is really promising, and I want to see it developed.

By the way, they never said that they would never release a second chapter unless they get $2500, just that that's the minimum they need to keep developing the game long-term. And I hope they get it.

Okay, I'm gonna wait a couple of versions, this looks amazing but it just checks too many ''this will be abandoned'' flags for me, feels very ambitious (Specially regarding the money lol) and the art style is so good that feels unsustainable for constant updates, so I'm better off waiting and not giving myself any hope lol

It's nice to have a goal, but hold your creation ransom to get to that goal is wrong way to go about it. Check out all the new updates of games, go to their patreons check out their incomes (for those that have it visible). Check out how long they been working on adult games. Growing a fan base and income take time. If you need cash up front then Patreon is wrong platform for it. Their goal message on Patreon states they need to reach the 2500 minimum in order to keep work on it. I read that as everything is at hold until they reach the goal. It doesn't say they need it to work on it long term...

Majority of the creators around of these games doesn't do it full time, its a hobby. They have rl jobs and commitments else.

People doesn't complain about creators want to make money. Then question arise how they go about it. Would you want to start pledge to a creator, then fast forward a couple months, goal not reached and they scrap the project? It doesn't exactly garner trust.

Yeah this game might not stay for long. $2900 is extremely tough milestone to achieve for a new H-game especially on patreon. the only one i think that hit that big of a milestone on 1st release is probably Radiant.

That's the problem. People think creating a game is a hobby. Have you seen this game? This is professional work, it's not a hobby. You can't compare it to the majority of Patreon games, half-cooked russian money grabs.

There are a lot of devs making a living creating porn games: Mr. Dots, Dr. Pink Cake, Dark Cookie, Eva Kiss, just to name a few. And they make awesome games because they can do it full-time and professionally. RedLolly want to do the same and the quality of their work clearly shows it. This game not something you get from someone who "does this as a hobby". Have you any idea how much must have costed to commission all this art, backgrounds, UI design, etc?

All they're saying is that to be able to make this project their job they need that minimum amount to share between two people. That amounts to a pretty average salary. Is that really too much to ask for? If you think it is, then all we will get will be amateurish half-baked games that get abandoned because lack of support.

Without supporting devs we won't get great games, there would be no Summertiem Saga, no Being a DIK, no Good Girl Gone Bad. Let's not bash artists for wanting to make a living out of their art, come on. We should encourage a job well done and hope more people are able to make great games we can enjoy

As long as people exist they will always doubt and be negative. My advice is just block it all out and put in the work to make a great game and you will succeed.
