Lust is Stranger [2D-0.1-demo]

Hi folks!

Here's the first demo of the LiS remake project. It's not very long, but if you're interested in checking the new systems and the visuals you can download it here (click-bait: it features a first quick hot scene).

As I posted earlier, this time I'm trying a less convoluted stats mechanic and ditching the silent protagonist thing. The main argument of the plot is the same, but I'm changing a lot of the flow of the scenes.

Coming back to sprite skinning animated scenes feels like coming back home. Plus, I'm now rendering normal maps to ALL game sprites. Using these with the new Unity 2D realtime lightning helps a lot to build atmosphere in a way I couldn't do in previous games, and blurs a little more the line between 2D and 3D.

This build has a lot of new systems and it's the first time I'm publishing a game using Unity's new render pipeline and asset management, so nasty bugs might be around. Please, post any issues you find here !

See you soon,
Peace!

I played the demo and if the only change is the overworld being in 2D for the most part, then that's perfectly fine.
Looks like it. He also reused most of the text and script from the previous game, which is really good. If he's doing that, development is likely gonna progress faster than the 3D version as he doesn't need to create stuff from the ground up.

I will miss the 3D one, for what it was worth, it was really good. I never did to get to find that 0.3.4.5 version of it. The link had only gave 0.3.2.5.

Regardless, I am going to be looking forward to the remake.

Honestly I think the swap to 2D is very smart. The other games were all solid and making a 3D game not feel like massive empty space is just such a pointless amount of work for very little gain.

I can't tell if you're joking about this or not...
I think I've worked out what the confusion is. The final 3D version of the game is v0.3.2.5, but the thread (and arshavinstyle's post) incorrectly lists it as v0.3.4.5, causing players to try to get hold of a version that does not exist.

In the changelog, the second-to-last entry should be v0.3.2.4 instead of just v0.3.4, and then v0.3.2.5 instead of v0.3.4.5. With these corrections, the changelog posted here matches the changelog file included with the game: all the latest "What's new" changes listed are in v0.3.2.5.

Thank you for clearing that up.

Architect's games are one of the best examples of a well made adult game.To me,personally,Architect is the best Porn games developer ever, not only he makes his games on a high tech level,he also manages to make a great story and character development. His work is something that i was looking for a long time, and after finishing the third Hack'n'Stalk, there is another game in development! The speed of him making a new project is actually very rapid, considering the level of quality of course.Thank you so much Architect, bookmarked this one and can't wait to play the full game

another post

Hi folks!
Quick status update here. I already ported all the basic systems to the new remake project (save system, trophies, basic UI and objectives). The idea is to have all the groundwork ready for next version.
If you tried the demo version you noticed I'm keeping the core plot line, but also expanding the original scene's content with ideas I wasn't secure enough to implement in prior version. I keep following this line, with an expansion of the first hallway quest and I already added a couple of new environments.
A lot of things have to be redone but I'm quite happy to create again without having to restrain ideas due to the performance concerns of the real time 3D renderer (I'll try it again at some point, but certainly in a smaller scope project).
I'll have a release date next post.
See you soon,
Peace !

So wait the 2D version of the game is just going to be like his Lara Croft game? If that's it then the changes are perfectly fine. If anything the gameplay for the 3D version didn't go anywhere past just finding random stuff so a conversion from 3D to 2D won't be that jarring. I do wonder if this will make the specs of the game less required. I use a pretty old laptop for this type of stuff so I was getting some frame drops with the 3D version.

After playing it I'm not sure how I feel about the changes. If anything my main issue is the puppet like animation, it gets so weird and the movement just feels wrong. Everyone is kinda just jumping around and it just looks bad. Hopefully he tones down the idle animation, hell I'll even take still frames over their alien movement.
