Nono, they're quite serious. The order, from common to uncommon, is "straight non-furry">"gay non-furry">"straight furry">"gay furry". And gay furry stuff commonly is VNs or text based, there's not many actual games with it. However, because a game people like hasn't got enough of a type of porn they prefer, they complain about a lack of content. Hell, people have even gone onto a furry game on this forum and then gone "Urgh, furry", even when it's called something like "Furry Fucks: A furry game for furries".

It's just one of those things that happen here, you'll get numb to seeing the complaints eventually.
TBH there are loads of "Furry games" which focused on "game-play" even before word "furry" becomes so widespread.
Can you deny "Pokemon" is a furry game? Or "Animal Crossing"? How about "Spiritfarer" or "Undertale"?
I don't know why people suddenly become so sensitive and allergic to them.

It's just not many "Porn games" until recently.
And let's be honest, creating games (especially NSFW) are not easy, not many people are cut for a "game developer", but everyone is welcome to try, otherwise you'll never know - and that's why so many games are "abandoned".

For Porn game you need sexual-appealing art / image / animation / writing,
But for an "Actual" game with fun game-play, you'll need a totally different skill-sets.
And VN / text-based / RPGM are the most simplified genres which you can create a very appealing one with only the former + minimal game development knowledge.
Taking LD as a example, we all love the porn aspect of the game, but I bet not many are amused by its crafting system, battle, or the mindless grind.

Also the patreon system is quite flawed for game development:
  • creating game is not factory production, you shouldn't force a set amount of contents with same quality drops monthly
  • It let patreon haffects the development process, which is generally a bad thing
  • Many creators are exploiting it to scam people, which widely pollute the market
  • It also make creators to have the tenancy to "drag on" instead of "finish"
  • Not to mention all the resourced wasted on PR stuff
Look at LD, it has been struggling to progress for quite awhile now (yes even the latest update) and experiencing big changes, but since people are watching it monthly, most of the time we just find disappointment.
If we give Hyao time, check back in a year or when the game is ready, it might be a totally different story.

Not long ago there's one guy praised LD for "having so much contents that he can't even imaging finish them all" cuz he's new to it. Ironic since the major complain is there's not much contents (besides the artists shift) :ROFLMAO:

It's just a mixed bag of success on here, sometimes you'll find good stuff that fits your fetishes, other times you'll find the same cookie-cutter 3D model games with some questionable faces in them, it's luck of the draw.
I wouldn't call it luck of the draw.
Although the tag system is far from perfect, but it's really not hard to find what're for you or not:
  • By looking at the Arts in the OP, the dev might not be sincere about the "description", but the pictures won't lie.
I never have this problem of "finding a game that lies to me about what it is".
As long as you won't faint on the first sight of a fetish that's not for you (for those poor souls who spam "Is gay avoidable" :ROFLMAO:)

This also goes for you silverxrz, don't solely relies on the tags (It'll only piss you off ), look into the First post. Most of the time it ain't tagged "incorrectly", it just aint what you are thinking it is.

Careful now, that whole "Pokemon is furry" and such is a conversation that can start a war. :p What is or isn't furry is hotly debated, I was actually part of a "Is Sonic furry?" comment section once. XD I was just talking about porn games, things that are basically "dick in the face" furry beyond a doubt. Though the reaction to the word "furry" is actually due to public misconception and unfortune "bad apple upsets the bunch" mentality. For example, "furpile" means "group of suiters using eachother as padding to rest", but the movie SuckerPunch used the term to mean "gangbang" and that somehow spread like wild fire. I would go on, but the LD thread is hardly the place to explain something that I WILL ramble about. XD It's actually an interesting topic on memetics, given limited information and situations evolved into an image of degenerate behaviour which is ironically just a mirror image of society's deviant nature but in fursuits. :p (See why I said I'd ramble? XD)

And believe me, creating games in general isn't easy, porn or not. I've got at least 15 projects I haven't finished nor touched, some sexual (e.g. Resident Evil fan game), some not (e.g. RPG with a ton of sex options, no gender limits). Plus a few other ideas I can't hope to achieve (I have a three season furry BL anime written in my head complete with opening and closing animations by Man With A Mission. Sadly, I can't draw for shit, let alone animate). I was merely highlighting the order of popularity and how thin the market is for certain types, often watered down with VNs and text (which most people don't like as they prefer seeing actual FAWKIN'. Me? They're swing and miss, some are great, others not so). I apologize if it appeared as a complaint, I thought I'd kept my tone neutral.

And it's luck of the draw if you use one type of tag, given some games aren't fully tagged or the tags aren't entirely clear (so "gay" and "female protagonist" likely is lesbian, but "gay", "anal" and "handjob" is more likely gay). I actually cycle through like 7 depending on what mood I'm in (gay, anal, furry, animated, monster, group sex and occasionally character creation), spread across different tabs. I just felt like if I gave the advice at the time it'd sound odd somehow.

Hopefully I've properly explained myself. ^^

Jesus Christ! Here we can see people acting high and mighty, criticizing others for using a pirate site for its intended use while using it themselves.

Here's the new update.

Sorry for not uploading yesterday. Our government thought that it was a good idea TO BLOCK FUCKING PAYPAL WHICH A LOT OF ITS CITIZENS USE TO RECEIVE THEIR SALARY. TO ALMOST NOBODY'S SURPRISE, THE GUY WHO DECIDED SOMETHING SO STUPID TURNED OUT TO HAD RECEIVED ZERO EDUCATION IN TECH. HOW HE GOT TO SUCH A HIGH POSITION IS SO FUCKING STUPID.

Sorry about that but I just gotta rant a bit. Had to push back my work due to the block which messed up my schedule so I'm a bit irritable today.
Thank you! I think I will donate as well. Is the 5$ worth it?

Oh, your tone is perfectly fine. I just wanna touch on those topics, I should be the one apologising if you think I'm too aggressive.

But since you think the term "furry" is publicly misunderstood and spread with malicious intents, then why would you think "Pokemon / Sonic is furry" is hotly debatable?
What else you would call these anthropomorphized animals / objects / whatever fantasy beings?

I get there are people might not find furry sexually-appealing, but it's the same with any other fetish,
I don't get why so much hate, guess those just need a reason to let the world know that they are haters?

Again, the tag system is quite flawed I wouldn't take it with face value.
You do realise LD has "gay" and "female protagonist", and sissification games will have "gay", "anal" and "handjob"?
CoC has almost all tags you can think of, but it's mostly about Futa / Hetero stuff; Lust for Adventure offers wide variety but heavily weighted towards gay; meanwhile Flexible survival is more balanced with a focus on gay stuff.
Also, I never run into a "lesbian" centred game despite I use "gay" as the solely filter, so....I actually hv no idea about those

Nobody hates furry it is just 4 updates of furryes in row which make it a little difficult to accept. Let hope that he will pick up other routes and drop this one. The same thing happens to LGBTQ when they litteraly put it everywhere especially in the films

That's more of a personal problem. If people are bothered by such content, they can go back and watch or play the sea of content that is made for them. There are more films without lgbtq content than any with it, just as there are way more games without furry. Anyone that gets angry about this needs to pull the stick out of their ass.

No, your reply was fine, I just thought I'd come across wrong. It's a habit of mine, I'm commonly misunderstood by people so I kinda question everything I write, you know? But regarding the "hotly debated" part, it's mostly because people don't want to consider those things as furry. They have set image of what furry is in their mind, so when something clashes with that idea then they argue the topic. Furries to most are all "owo" and such, not Sonic or Spyro (even if a furry is just basically an anthropomorphic character). Which is funny, cos nobody argues about Biker Mice From Mars (tall, buff, mostly shirtless mice). :p

Eh, the hate exists due to the previously mentioned "bad apples". There was this convention, I think it was Rainfurrest, where things got out of hand. Diapers, gloryholes, it was apparently chaos. But the thing is, that stuff was one occasion, all other conventions have been heavily maintained and controlled and the fandom itself is filled with quite a few people seeking mental comfort and escape from their lives (and it's inclusive to non-furs too, everyone can dabble but not commit). And yeah, furries hook up for sex and there's a lot of furry porn, but the same could be said about non-furries and R34. The deviant nature everyone hates about furries is nothing more than the same behaviour they themselves indulge in, it's just that furries aren't "normal". It's, sadly, a human trait to attack that which isn't the norm. Furries are just the latest thing to be targeted, within the next 20-30 years I'm willing to bet it'll disappear. It's already way less aggressive than it used to be, I'd argue it's because of the hateful nature society has against other things that they're targeting newer victims.

I'm aware of those, but that's just part of the deal. I personally just click on them, check the tags, and click out if it's not my style. Gotta put in the legwork if you wanna find good porn, you know? :p I've bring up an example of "lesbian" "gay" games but I never remember them so I'd have to refind one.

I don't know why but with furry content it really depends on how it is presented for me. If it is fantasy creatures (e.g. werewolves, minotaurs) I am all for it. But if it's described as anthropomorphic animals it just turns me off. Which is weird because it very much looks identical.

Goddamn, right when I was getting pretty disappointed in recent updates, Hyao hits me with a Logan scene. I am too easy to please.

Hyao would likely put the option to choose between human or werewolf in later update thats why he suggested saving before you do this once time event .
