In the Wardrobe you can set whether or not an item is allowed in randomization or not. You could just disallow things you don't like on a general level, but I ended up disallowing everything except the components of my main preset.
It's just a numbers game, farm essence and buy stuff in the Wardrobe (most stuff gives Stamina, certain accessory pieces give Skill Point Regen which is HUGE). Beyond that just be sure to use the reflect in response to their big damage (generally their fast thrust type thing) rather than on cooldown.

You get an attack as a reward much later, but it's just a point dump to make fights go faster. Fighting is really just outlasting the enemy as they self-damage. Use essence to buy clothing for more maximum stamina (the heals are % based) and buy piercings to increase your point generation rate. Timing your reflect when they cast abilities and dumping heals off cooldown is really the only strategy involved, if you're still losing just keep hitting a dozen or so rooms for essence and returning home to shop.
Maybe a dream is a show of potential. I dont think this happens as a bug, but I also dont like it.
You need more stamina, play the game und you get more naturaly, only a little grind. If you lose to the goblin you also get more stamina ( endurance).
