Some saves broke last version, there are a couple of things you can try if you check known problems in OP.

You can skip pretty much all repetition in the game if that's what you really want, although I recommend playing normally.

Love this game, but to be honest the last few updates felt a little barebones.

That's because they have been, I've been making repeatable content rather than story content, this update has more story content than the last like three updates combined, I think.
