well its a demo... its not too bad only a few enemies, a few other things. Normal is very easy, hard is well difficulty jumps from 3 to 8 quickly when you have to worry about persistent health instead of being auto healed after battle.
Decent and slightly humorous start to this game

I'm super happy one of my top 3 fighting game loves is getting something, and I don't really have any complaints with the demo per se, but it does feel like the artwork makes her a bit chunky and pale, which if that's just the style I get it, but throws me off when I'm used to her being hyper-fit and rocking some abs, but still filled out in a feminine sense.

Hmmm true but :giggle: I love this iteration and think she looks amazing
Maybe before this journey she ate her fill incase she'd run low on supplies!

Thank you for the kind words! Makoto is my favourite character ever, so I knew I had to use in her a lewd game of mine soon, so why not the second one? :p
As for the artwork, I believe that's just the artists style in this case, unless you're talking about the sprite art, in which case, that's all me,though I rarely see Makoto rocking any abs at all in her official artwork, so I've never asked for them to be drawn in, sorry if that disappoints you

Though at the end of the day, everyone is allowed to imagine how a character looks to them, so if that's how you imagine her, then I'm a-okay with it! For now, just imagine that this version of Makoto is my take on her, the strong-willed spunky squirrel girl that wants to protect and help her friends, while also having both a cute and adorable side to her, and maybe a slightly kinky part of her to ;)

Aww, thank you! :giggle:
Nah, the harshness of the internet hasn't gotten to me, I just forgot to use them until now! I'm glad you enjoyed my last game too, and I'm hoping I've improved and learnt a lot from developing Agents, and as such that this game is much better!

Time for my usual Review/Guide/Recommendations!

Straight away, as a basic rundown, this game is a turn based RPG featuring some porn elements. All the h-scenes in this game require you to "lose" so, if you hate that then you won't like this, but there are many ways to see some lewd scenes without getting an actual game over. However, you will find yourself reloading saves frequently if you want to get through this in less than 2 hours, which I'll go over shortly.

I won't really write a guide for this game, as it's basically a straight shot to get from the start to the finish. No decisions to make, alternate paths to take, or anything secret in the game. There are two chests that can only be accessed by travelling through "hidden paths" in the map, however they are very obviously telegraphed so you can't miss them. Opening the chests is pointless, as the healing items are completely ineffective and the equipment items offer so little in terms of stats, they aren't even remotely useful. But, it's fun to open chests so, knock yourself out if you are so inclined. Otherwise, just run to the end to unlock all the porn in the game by defeating the first boss.

The basic gameplay of this game revolves around a very slow turn based combat system in which you fight one, or two enemies at once. The enemies can attack you normally, or attempt to grapple you, and if they successfully grapple you 5 times you are instantly defeated. As it takes on average 3 attacks to kill an enemy, that means during the course of a 2 enemy fight they are basically guaranteed to succeed in grappling you unless you escape the grapple, which wastes your turn, extending the already long-winded turn based gameplay even further. The escape mechanic is RNG, unless you waste your mana, meaning there's a chance that you simply fail and then get a "game over". Thus, it's mandatory to save CONSTANTLY, I would recommend after every fight you do this just to save time, as getting dragged away doesn't actually force you to reload, but puts you back at the start of the dungeon in a special room and respawns every single enemy. If you get anywhere close to the end, then get caught, you will lose 30-40 minutes of progress and therefore will guaranteed reload your save rather than accepting the small loss and walking back. I actually appreciate a game where a "game over" isn't the end necessarily, but if that's the case you should absolutely spawn close to where you were. I was unwilling to use this mechanic after the first time purely to avoid spending 20 minutes getting through the first screen again.

Speaking of game overs, and the porn in general; There are three enemy scenes in the game in pixelart style. One for the generic tentacle enemy, one for the pitcher plant, one for the boss monster. There is also a hidden scene if you happen to randomly find a mimic in place of a chest and choose to lose to it. These are the ONLY enemies in the game, in what is currently around an hour and a half experience if you want to collect everything. With only Tentacle and Pitcher, and at least 15 of them in every room, you will find yourself instantly bored of them and wanting to progress. I understand that the game is very very early in development, but just keep this in mind if you want to play the game rather than download someone's completed save. You WILL spend over an hour fighting the same enemy over, and over, and over, and every fight is constantly drawn out by non combat. Every animation stops the fight. Every attack stops the fight. And every time your character is afflicted by one level of grapple, she pauses the fight to say something about the situation. Normally this is good when it happens the first time a character encounters a situation, as it gives the player insight into their personality and opinion on what's happening, making them feel involved in the story. However, she says the same dialogue, literally every time. Every. Single. Time. You. Get. Hit. And the fight PAUSES for this to happen. It makes fight sequences take almost 30% longer just from this alone. Similarly, every time you open a chest, even if it's an item you have found before, she says the same dialogue EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's two or three extra dialogues you have to skip through for the 20+ chests in the game that just start to grate on you, the player, needlessly. From a game design perspective I would thoroughly recommend that this be removed, there's nothing wrong with opening a chest and it just says +50 Cashews, people know what that means, especially if the first time you get them she comments on it and then every time after it's fine and she just grabs them. In RPGmaker you can do this simply by making a check on every chest that searches for a specific value: Lets say it's called "FirstTimeChestHealing". That value starts at 0, and when you open a chest it checks that value is 0, then she talks about the healing item, then picks it up, and at the same time increases the value to 1. Next chest you open that has the healing potion checks the same thing, but this time the value is 1, so she just takes the item and the value stays at 1. Simple! You can also do a similar thing for events such as dialogue triggering on combat actions and meeting enemies for the first time, etc. Hope that helps!

So, only 3 enemies (4 if you count mimic) and each has one pixelart h-scene of ok quality. There are also some CG scenes in the game for game-overs. All regular enemies, when you lose to them, give you the same CG, which is two images, one with tentacle penetration and an identical one with cum added. The Mimic has its own CG animation, two images, one penetration and one cumshot. The boss has its own CG too, two images, one penetration and one cumshot. The positioning of the images actually means you generally can't even see the "action", the penetration and cumshot, because the text box of the character speaking or the scene description covers it up and cannot be hidden. Make the text box more transparent, or have a key that hides the text box so you can see the whole picture. If you're playing this just for the porn, there really isn't a lot of it and thus far with it being such an early build it's not particularly great quality h-scenes. The pixelart is fun but hard to see, the CGs are drawn well but lacking in any content. In terms of themes and game overs, as every enemy is (And is likely going to be) a tentacle, it can very quickly become stale. Pretty much all tentacles look the same in porn and can be very generic. Adding more themes such as cum inflation, pregnancy, birth, oviposition, alternative penetrations (such as urethral/nipple), and more, can keep tentacles fresh as a theme and allow for the scenes to feel unique and interesting, keep the player wanting to discover more of them and finish the game. Right now, there isn't any variation and with a VERY LONG playtime for this very short experience it definitely FEELS like an early build right now, but still worth a look and some support.

The creator of this clearly has some passion and potential to make it great, so be sure to give honest opinions and especially FEEBACK that helps them improve. Give advice, not negativity.

Oh, and as stated before, if you beat the first boss you unlock everything in the gallery. The gallery is in the safe room, put your clothes in the washing machine then get into the pool to access that gallery. That's all for now, keep an eye on this project people!

Thank you for the in depth review of MM:NUT so far! I honestly really appreciatereading things like this, as it helps me to improve my games as much as possible! :D
Now let's see, where to start with this...

I'm assuming you played the game on it's Normal difficulty, as saying the healing items are pointless for that makes sense, since your HP and SP recover after ever battle. Hard difficulty was implemented when a few of my discord members mentioned they wanted the game to be harder for them, so I added the additional difficulty.
As for the equipment, you may be surprised how much of a difference the additional stats can be with the gem fragments, though I have been thinking about adding in bigger gems later on into the game.

Hmm, you've just given me a wonderful idea for what I could do with the struggle ability! If I make it a quick action like Makoto's Asteroid Vision action, then it won't use up the players turn to perform it. I'll probably remove the HP recovery on it and lower the success rate or add a cooldown to it, but that would be one way to make the game a bit easier, plus a failed struggle then isn't a wasted turn! That may solve the issue you have with it feeling like a wasted action then.

As for the reason for the "Game Over" escape always placing you back at the beginning, it somewhat makes sense within the story, since the creatures would always take Makoto deeper into the dungeon again. But I can understand why such a thing is a frustrating feature for you, maybe I could add in a skip text button for the game over scenes, as well as a way to show off the full picture during them too, will need to look into how to do it first!

For the text in combat sequences, that's actually a bit of an oversight on my half, I'll look into having the text only play the first time in combat from now on, I honestly hadn't thought about it stretching out the fight that much  I'll also look into doing the same with the chest interactions as well then, don't want to be making my players bored after all!

When you say the pixel art is hard to see, what do you mean by that please? As on my screen it seems fine to me, and sadly I don't believe I can have the pixel art be any bigger on screen due to the constraints of RPG Maker MV (Yet another reason I may wish to look into other game development programs)

For variety in terms of what the enemies will be doing, well, you'll just have to wait and see what I have planned for the future then ;)

Thank you once again for the review and feedback though, certainly a lot of things I can think about changing here and there to improve the player experience!

I dont know if its possible but one suggestion I'd have is to have her sprite bigger during the game, in the last game and in this you have the lower 1/3rd be the character, the middle 1/3rd the enemy and the upper 1/3rd just background, maybe you could change it so the character sprite is bigger? Maybe i have an unpopular opinion with this but i like it more when the character sprites are big  or maybe a key you can press to make it bigger during combat?
But I love that there are little cutscenes during the fights now and she reacts to what happens to her :))
I think the pictures really fits the game well too!! A really nice addition to the already great animations! :) Keep up the good work!!
Oh and I like the choice of music!! :)) its not just the default from the first game anymore haha, now it sounds alot more pleasant to listen to :)
Due to the constraints of RPG Maker MV, I don't think I can easily change the size of the sprites in battle :( At least, not without changing up the entire battle screen display itself.

I'm glad toy like the little scenes in combat, I certainly don't plan on removing them any time soon, just probably have it so they don't appear every single time in combat :p
I'll have to let the artist know that you enjoy their artwork too!

The music was one of the first things I wanted to improve on from Agents, as I was bored of the standard music that was included in RPG Maker MV, as such, I found some royalty free tracks that I could use, made sure to credit the artist, and used them in the game! As for the battle themes though, the main one was a remix of Makoto's actual theme done by Mittsies, whom I asked if I could use in the game, while the boss battle theme in the game was made by a wonderful friend of mine for me! :giggle:

If you don't mind me asking, please feel free to join my discord! :giggle:

Thank you for the kind words! Makoto is my favourite character ever, so I knew I had to use in her a lewd game of mine soon, so why not the second one? :p
As for the artwork, I believe that's just the artists style in this case, unless you're talking about the sprite art, in which case, that's all me,though I rarely see Makoto rocking any abs at all in her official artwork, so I've never asked for them to be drawn in, sorry if that disappoints you

Though at the end of the day, everyone is allowed to imagine how a character looks to them, so if that's how you imagine her, then I'm a-okay with it! For now, just imagine that this version of Makoto is my take on her, the strong-willed spunky squirrel girl that wants to protect and help her friends, while also having both a cute and adorable side to her, and maybe a slightly kinky part of her to ;)
I did mean the artwork specifically, the sprite feels pretty accurate to skin tone and fitness, just surprised at the extra plumpness she gets when it's art time, it isn't a deal breaker for me or anything, but when you've played thousands of matches with a specific character(I'm a centralfiction addict and she's one of my top 3 used) the discrepancies are hard not to notice. No biggy though, gl with future devolopment/content.

Yay! Glad to know my sprites are accurate to her, I would have been worried if I hadn't drawn my favourite character correctly!
I know a lot of artists do take some liberties when it comes to drawing Makoto herself, plus it's not like all the official artwork of her is accurate to her sprite design in Blazblue
But I will certainly be looking forward to hearing what you have to say about the rest of the game itself, I hope you've been enjoying the demo so far! :D

:giggle:
awwww I see :c but i still love the sprites!! your sprite work is soooooo good :)))
the scenes are greaaat, yeah i agree!! for every new enemy maybe that she reacts whenever she has one of the interactions with them for the first time :))
yeah the music improved aloooot!! and yeah when you play these games alot these songs are starting to become an ear sore XD since its always just the saaaame standard bland music haha!
and no sorry i dont use discord :c but when the game progressed more ill for sure play it again!! :)) lots of love to youuuuuuuuu!!<3 enjoy your project!! :))

Pixel animations? Check.
Tentacles? Check.
A neat and balanced battle system? Check.

Bam, added to my watched threads. I can honestly say this is an improvement compared to your last project, and it shows. Better animations and the ability to choose your difficulty are great additions too.

Can't wait to see what else you come up with, Wielder. Maybe even something... *nutty* :p

This was honestly a really fun experience, lot of potential here. There is not really much to add, other than an option in the gallery to show only the scene without the text. How much have you planned so far? This has potential, so I want to help as much as possible.

Thank you for the kind words everyone!
MyKindOfWoman I'm glad you enjoy the in battle interactions Makoto has, I'm currently working on a version0.1.4 for the demo which makes it so those interactions only happen once per combat, as well as a few other changes and bug fixes :giggle:
As for the music, I'm hoping I can get another piece from my friend to use for the Safe Area, so that it's a more chill theme to listen to. :D
Sad to hear that you don't use Discord though, but I can understand. Feel free to message me at all on here though then!
@Axis3123I'm very glad to hear those words, making sure I improved on what I had done in Agents was one of my main goals with this game, and hearing someone say it really helps! :giggle: As for what else I come up with, well, I'm sure it may just get... *nuts* :p
FutureHUD Thank you! Somehow, I hadn't thought of that idea, I'll look into adding it when I can, currently focusing on other aspects of the game at the moment. As for how much I have planned so far, I've got two more areas for the game to do, so a few more normal enemies and two more bosses. As for details of those enemies, those will come later, don't want to spoil anything now do I? ;)
