It's funny you mention AAA games, whatever your opinion might be on them these days (microtransactions, season passes and DLC's aside), I think we can all agree that you pay for content you will get as soon as the transaction is over. Even if new titles are $60, that's like 6 months of the inner circle bullshit for a game that was pretty good until the devs started slacking, right now failing to provide ANY sort of solid content to back up their funding requests. Most of the things that I've bothered looking into are either text-based explanations, a couple of pictures of some 3d models and the lame battle tests. Game's been stuck in development since 10/2016 and we're in 4/2018 yet there's barely any progress to actually track. I don't really get it how some people are still willing to support it after 18 months and the sad truth is that, as long as they keep earning $6,5k+/month as they currently are, they won't feel any sort of pressure to reveal the work they've put into it (if they have). If you do the math (I'm not aware of how much pateron takes) but they've gathered around $100k+ during this period. What really grinds my gears about their business model that you may have mentioned is that, they're hiding most of the 'progress' updates for inner circle supporters when everyone who spends any dime on this game for more than a month deserves to know where it goes into, not just a wall of text once a month. Are they really thinking that people would spend $10 to get the latest hottest news since there's not much else they currently have to offer? Not only that, but I believe any dev who REALLY wants to create a good game would not hide something as simple as a bug test that offers none of the future content behind a paywall as if they're pretending they're releasing something relevant so that people who haven't donated without access to these leaks, might just sink a few dollars in their pockets. I do want to believe they're working on it because I understand how difficult game development may be, but there's way too many red flags about this one.
Just a point I would like to add. While they have done fuck all with the game since 2016, it has been in development since before it was even on Patreon. I think it was like 2013-2012 the first time I heard about the game?
Thats almost SIX years for 2 discarded demos and 4(maybe 3) models that apparently are not even finished.

$7,000 each month and they are playing with their small dicks every day instead of finishing the game -.- Patreon is the best job ever, better than youtube. Getting money for sleeping the whole day. Thats THE dream ^^

Well they think:"quality work is one and only, no need to care about other thing". They try too perfect every small thing, which somewhat i praise their effort, but no they are not a game company, but they trying to work like one, that the problem.

I do get why they would want to switch to the different engine sooner rather than later. It prevents duplicate work. But wasn't the latest battle test that someone shared here in RPG maker anyway? What the fuck's up with that?

The "engine" change was most likely a graphics engine change. So, they have taken 2 years to make 2 models, and not even that because they made Malise's in like 2 months (what they should have taken to start, maybe even less), so basically they spent 2 years making Neon's model.
I thought they would at least have restarded the game in MV, but not even that.

At this point, they might as well give up on an RPG and make a shitty Lessons of Passion-esque thing. They're obviously more invested in the art than playable content.

The sad truth is that they do. 267 person do exactly that and another 44 pays even more. So as it was pointed out, the grim reality is that they really don't have a reason to change anything. They can slack as much they want, they are being paid handsomely for it.

Meh, I bailed when they changed the pricing system, but I did make 2 $20 patreon pledges so I better get the finished game. (If it's ever released that is...)

I did 3 $20 donations and stayed on a few months after they changed to the "cheaper" monthly charge system. Fucking assholes... I hate these guys. If anyone here still supports them i'm sure you will find old ass replies to them from me mentioning how long it had been since we had anything playable. They would reply by acknowledging and claim something was coming soon... still more than a year later not jack shit. They didn't change to monthly so they can put updates on the main patreon page, rather than private message them... they did it cause they knew they weren't going to release any more fucking content. Sorry I just hate these guys... the demo was freaking awesome and the character models were hot. Got my hopes up just to be robbed of money. People like them are why new developers have a harder time finding support. All the 3d work, teaser animations, and bullshit they release now I say is a damn scam just to bleed what they can and that is my opinion until there is an actual damn update.
