Not sure what gifts that would be talking about. The only thing you need to do is follow the hints that show on her portrait.
PS - Most of the 'walkthrough' guides here are incomplete or inaccurate. The hints will give you more accurate guidance.
Exactly, don't use the walkthroughs, use the in-game hint system. It is much more accurate.
In my wildest dream I just want every games have build-in hint system like this, it's so good and stress free. I hope we have a list of game that have system like this.

You should try his newest game. It's not a sequel, but gameplay and atmosphere is similar to MOTH. Be aware game is in early development, yet there is some lewd content.
Yeah, the new one is going to be a lot closer to MotH, it is a spiritual sequel, if not a direct one.

In order to leave the door opened, go to sleep before midnight and set your alarm clock for 08:00. Depending on exactly what Claire's hint says, you need to either sleep naked or with boxers on. And to catch her coming to the bathroom to take her bath, take a shower at 19:30 (she always takes her evening baths at 20:00).
