why this game is tagged on vndb as "Netorare type A"??
Cause... it fits?

The heroine is willingly cheating on the protagonist with another guy and enjoys every second of it. No rape, blackmail, drugs etc. involved, it's consensual sex from the very beginning

Kenji asks her to fuck another guy. She agrees and does so without any pressure and enjoys every moment of it. Everything consensual from all parties. Sounds like Type A Netorare alright. Heck, this would apply to all the three original games.. unless I'm missing something?

If I'm not mistaken, capu2 is working on Mamahame, though not officially. He just does it on and off when he is in the mood and needs to take a break from his vanilla project.

I DLed the game and even changed local settings to Japan, but when I try to run the game I get some pop up window in japanese where all I can read is ANSI and UNICODE. Did this happen to anyone else?

Yes. The game is faulty.

No it isn't. Game runs perfectly fine. You folks probably have JP locale issues. Post a screenshot of your game interface.
I have already deleted it . But there is an error with a lot of questions and a blue screen with Japanese text .

Man, I really enjoyed the first two of these, especially for how clearly in love the husband and wife are, despite how they make some stupid decisions as things play out. They're still happy together at the end. But I'm getting tons of red flags about how this sequel plays out. I know NTR tends to be heavy, anxiety ridden and oftentimes deliberately traumatic, but I don't think I'm ready to experience that with THESE characters.

I wasn't either my dude. This finale had people split right in the middle with some absolutely hating it and other absolutely loving it. Ironically, most fans who hated it still gave it positive stars just on the sheer factor of how they got attached to the characters and good story. Personally, I waited to play all three games together and when the translation for 2nd finally dropped I binged played it together until I reached the middle of the 3rd. That's it. It's been months and I still haven't been able to pick it back up..

I just skipped through 95% of the game, and HOLY SHIT, they reach a happy ending in the most fucked up way possible!!! (Well, not really. I can can easily think of further outlandishly fucked up twists.) I'm relieved that there's not some secret divorce ending. That would have made me decide on the "bad end" from the first game as the true canonical ending for the franchise.

And from the Staff Room, the devs say they're looking to make two more entries for these characters: a prequel about the Marina and her Ex (*barf*) and another sequel about Marina embracing her "S" side. If they intend to make Marina elaborately more sadistic, I'm 1000% on board with that. Her scenes with Kenji throughout the games (and the ones with Hiroto from part 2) show that she is truly gifted at treating him with a gleeful, playful and insightful sadism.

I guess the prequels already released - and . Hope someday they will get translation too.

upd: it seems three audio dramas end the Marina's cycle (twit from . LoonerPrime said the reasons on previous page, but chances aren't zero).

It's becoming clear to me that I stumbled upon Atelier Sakura's (subjectively) BEST entries first, and everything else from their catalog will fail to measure up. Thanks for the update.

I don't know who made the call: Atelier Sakura itself or the author Orob, but what could have been a proper erotic game appealing to the fans of genre, got turned into a moral friendly drama. For reasons unfathomable to me, someone in control decided that they would rather tie up a successful series than leave it for future continuations. To do so, apparently, their best way was to dumb down the IQ of the characters so they could justify the ending. [stares dissapointingly at Kenji] Either way, AS of the present relishes being a pioneer at putting out dumpster porn content i.e more pushing early sex, less setting up a proper story-line: something akin to present real life porn movies.

In my eyes the first game was the high point of the entire series. Granted the story was plain but nevertheless, it was decently narrated. The Netorase play was the focal point and had a good overall approach to the sex scenes. The fabrication factor combined with inaccurate reports by Marina were well balanced; a light tinge of cheating factor without crossing absurd lines. All good ingredients for a genre where things spiraling out of control isn't always an appealing end. The second game however, though a better story, was a meh. Garbage game engine aside, the story flow felt more reigned in. Like the author was bored/scared/wasn't ready to experiment with new content or at the very least work in tandem with the prequel. I couldn't help but feel that the abrupt ramping down of NTR elements in the second was a precursor groundwork for what was to come in the final game. And then finally, the tailspin that was the third... well, all I'm gonna say is that the sex factor was explicit and well done. Everything else? To each, their own but we all know how major sentiments flew around it.
