I like the way you think. But isn't there a strategy to have one melee fighter with super high dex? I am thinking of trying this against the big monsters at second hunting place past the ferry. Maybe you can charge and have enough melee defence to buff it until your shooters have killed it? The one time I tried to kill those I was not strong enough with coil guns and super high ranged attack and decent mercs.
As it happened I went this way and learned a thing or two about this game. Please let me entertain you a bit with my story here:
(Warning: TLDR.)
Noticing that legacy is still more or less one not too good joke (for ME at least), I took some time to analyze what I really enjoy within the game and noticed it was fighting. So, instead of going MOAR-way I went to the opposite direction and started a supposedly quite long and painful grind with only one game-person, the MC. No issids and wife those I had learned to frown upon, no slave-girls those I still love, but like to keep happy instead of letting enemies or fuckers grind them to pulp.
From my earlier plus 20 efforts I had the advantage of knowing pretty well where the tough adversaries usually lie awaiting. So I could avoid them until I could afford the better weapons and best armor.
I was careful and nervous - every bad fight would be my last, because there were no friends to stick tendstims in me if I went down - but it was also exiting to be such a (relatively) weak fool in constant danger.
Sooner than I thought, I had gathered enough to start buying stuff and after just a month of game-time I could start really grinding the field.
When weather was bad I never stayed home. I went fishing or hunting to slowly get my MC tough. It worked, but took time. Yet I stayed motivated thinking that I was going a road "seldom used".
Ok, months (in game-time) passed, but I was gathering some influence and a good pile of rubbish to start crafting stuff I would need later. Now I could take on stronger adversaries and I did just that. Again a little bit sooner than I had expected I found myself hunting charuks - and that turned out something that really formed my MC and compelled his skills to increase. At this point of time I had influence enough to get into the Arena and Virax. Taking a bath and "massage" there felt quite nice after getting almost beaten, so I used that place more than most. It also shortened the recovering times.
So what had I learned? The game gives enough chances to play single in case I know what I need to do. I do not need eidetic memory - though I admit it would be useful - and all it takes to make the passive income from investments is just a lot of time and some enlightened use of current game systems.
What did I do with my wealth, you might wonder. Well, I went and fetched Michelle from her place and made her my 'quarter mistress'. What comes next is probably quite a lot of fishing and fucking. Less marrying.
