But well oh well. I must've messed up somewhere else. My initial thought is that I simply didn't reach 375 points by the end of the game, so game decided to make a hit on one of the weakest points of mine (I was on 352, or 354 points, which is pretty close, yeah, but surely isn't nearly enough).

Yeah, then you messed up on the little points. You need 385 to trigger the perfect end on top of the relationship stuff and 400 to trigger the extra scene. I think I ended up with 405 or 415 with the walkthrough, so there is little leeway if you mess up music quizzes or minor things like ordering the wrong food or such.

on perfect ending he ends up being musician again while melody is touring and m being band's lead singer occasionally.

It wasn't added. It's just part of the Ren'Py environment that the dev didn't use.

Devs didn't use any hard-code or whatnot, so you can find actual music inside game files. Most songs even have original names. It's just that they're separated by in-game weeks.
(hopefully I didn't just sign someone for piracy here, lol)
