Does the tab button not work?Hate it when this happens.
Holding the ctrl key is annoying af for me.
So sometime ago I made a lil mod for myself to avoid this.
With this mod you don't have to hold ctrl key, you can skip to the next choice directly.
I'm attaching it here. Maybe it'll be helpful for you
Instructions:
Drop the .rpy file in the game subfolder.
To uninstall the mod, just delete the file.
Tab to keep spinning through until either a choice or another button (tab, ctrl, enter, maybe space bar) is pressed. Done this a few times on Midlife Crisis.
I know that some games need un-ren run on them to access this, so if your mod is universal to Ren-py then it's another option.

my browser freezes and crashes when tryin to saveHate it when this happens.

Tab is basically toggle. With tab you still have to wait until a choice appears.
My mod will directly skip to next choice.
this can be also done by right clicking on the "skip" button.
But i personally find that tedious, so i made this.
And I used this mod on many games, was working fine everytime.

Ahh I see.
On the plus, it does jump directly to each choice so probably quicker.
Personally I prefer Tab/CTRL, being the old fart I am I like keyboard short cuts for one thing. On choices I will more often use the arrow keys + enter to select.
With Tab/CTRL you can roll back a few steps to check what the lead up to the choice is, making sure you're doing what you intend.
On the negative Tab/CTRL take a while skipping through pictures and longer waiting for animations to load.
All the same I'll keep 'quick' in my tools folder, thanks
