Ooooh, new Faerin stuff. Besides MIST, Faerin's games are probably the only adult games with any actual gameplay elements. 90% of sandbox games are just finding the right time to enter the right area to trigger the next scene in what is essentially a VN.

SANDBOX style does not fill me with confidence, though, but if it's something intuitive, then I'm cool with it.

Yup. Managing hotel on hard difficulty in MM was actually fun.
The problem that I have with this game is that judging on the description of characters, it's almost the same batch that there was at MOTH.
Also,NSFW scenes need more angles(POV, for example).
Just my 5 cents

Faerin's MOTH also was sandbox game, nevertheless it was very good game, imho.

Hillside is a linear VN, this is a "sandbox" game. At least it's not the beaten horse Son coming back home to fuck his family into submission we see every day.

Broad strokes of thematic layout mean that no game is original. A ripoff to me is more than that. I mean people complained about Star Wars being a Star Trek ripoff back in the day because starships ... or how Harry Potter copied Lord of the Rings.

Because sandbox games actually require some level of skill to execute well, at least compared to many VNs, which are at the basic bitch level of picture+writing.
So I respect any dev that is willing to at least take some risk to make actual gameplay, even if many fail.

None of the games Faerin has made have involved incest, someone else has usually made a fan patch to convert the relationships in the previous two games and I wouldn't be suprised if that doesn't happen here as well
