Why are you assuming Bob was some ripped hulk? IRL girls like guys who can make them laugh mostly. In my years I have seen what I consider really ugly guys with hot women. Look at Leonardo, the guy has a total dad bod to the point where he wears a shirt at the beach. Sure he is a star but I have seen in many times in my professional photographic career. I don't think he was that either but he did probably not have the gut back then and it's more his personality than his looks, it's been a while but I'm pretty sure Linda described how Bob changed from when they were younger.

I hate that. I've seen enough incest to not find the concept even hot anymore but in some cases it's the only to have a relationship go kinda slow because "they have to hide" or "what will our parents think"
