I don't wanna defend the dev nor I want to be rude , but clearly you just don't know how hard it is to create a game , I am game designer my self and even I have team and we are doing this full time for living. it takes us 4 months to create a sand box game like this with roughly 30 min game play.

from point of a player everything is easy , he just picks up a model doing some computer stuff and then BAAAM we have cool game.

but keep in mind for 1 single image ( Render ) that you see in this he usees , Daz , maya and photoshop and trust me I am animating for almost 2 years now and this stuff takes a tons of time to get done,

i don't want to mention , other things such as writing , coding and creating overall a good game balance

also keep in mind he can't just do this job as full time job, for me yea it is easy , 8 am to 2 pm or even more but he can't just do this openly ,

like say hey everyone I am doing porn game you are very welcomed to watch naked lady on my monitor, long story short he is doing his best as dev to give us a update

he clearly loves to do porn games , because with his skills he can earn way way more money and repetition in a bigger studio

so chillout go play some other games and enjoy it once you you have the update .

Why should he not be able to work this as a regular job?
He can easily work at home and it's not like he has to wear a sweater stating "I develop incest porn games" on the chest, every time he goes out.
ICSTORE earns a lot of money, he could hire a team if he wanted to, he has also done this for years and exactly due to that you should expect professionalism from him.
And yet he has repeatedly half-assed the endings to his games, when he lost the motivation for them.

Do I understand how and why this could happen? Yes, of course, but that doesn't excuse it happening.
He wanted to take a break for 2 months, by his own accord he returned to the game afterwards and started to charge for it again.
And yet 10 month's later there's still no new update. Like I wrote in my previous post, I've defended him here several times, pointed out his reasoning for further delays, argued against him being a milker or a fraud, but at some point it's just enough and simply not so easy to excuse any more.

Now, ICSTOR is quite good in rendering and working with daz, his writing is also okay, but it ends there. I'm not sure that creating ren'py or RPGM games does automatically qualify you to work for a professional developer studio.

Also, I don't have to chill out, I'm not angry, I am simply disappointed and your condescending defence a la "you're no dev, you don't know how hard it is." isn't gonna change that.
We are talking about an update that should supposedly take 1-2 months taking more than 8 months, can you seriously tell me that this is acceptable for his patrons who pay him money each month and that anything of what you wrote is a valid defence against drawing out your work like that?


Edited to add: Look, I don't want to bust this guy's balls. I hope I'm wrong and he finishes Milfy City in a way worthy for the quality of the game up to now and I would be very pleased if the update was so good that no patron would feel the need to complain.
There are many reasons I can easily accept for updates to take more time, to miss the set dates etc.. but after you've accepted 2-3 explanations and yet the update still keeps being pushed back, there comes a time, when it's just not plausible any longer. And again, we are not talking weeks here, we are talking months and not for a complete game, but a single update.

He writes in a fluent and understandable english (not engrish as most VN games these days).
He has a good mix of jokes, sarcasm and serious times.
Maybe his writing won't earn him a pulitzer, but compareing with other games his writing is in the Top...
You can consider that sad in regards to the overall quality... but it's still a trueth.

I think it depends on what you compare it with. Many games in the genre are so badly written they are even hard to just understand.
Sometimes the Engrish is so bad, they are funny because of that.
So, yes compared to many, many games, ICSTOR's writing is good.
Compared to professional writers of games, books, films etc... probably not so much... although there are many really bad books, films and games around.

I heard he's not the one writing but either way I think it's adequate. Some of the relationship feel genuine enough. And if you start comparing it to 96% of all porn game writing it looks like very high quality writing.

I'd say his writing is average for these games. Being comprehensible doesn't make it good. Not like I really play the games on here for the writing anyway but there's plenty out there with actual good writing.

We don't know how many things Icstor has going on IRL but you're right generally an update doesn't take this long unless you're putting in as much content as DrPink/Philly in each release. But at the same time some patrons see themselves as patrons of the arts rather than expecting something in return every 2/3 months. Yes some people really do think it's decently written. I'm not one of them but you can scroll through and people actually love the story.

I'd like to hear you name atleast 10 (Indi-)games that are not outright boreing and have a good writing... cause the trueth is there are a few games with good dialogues but shity gameplay.
More times than not people try to hide their flaws in paceing and story with beautiful pictures... which makes them spend more times on those rather than improve what they lack in... that helps for maybe 3-5 Updates, but after that people will look for actual quality rather than facades.

Decent is actually a sign of quality compared to the bulk of games that get released.

Well AAA is pretty much what I'd call the prime idea of a man child... reap hords of money by turning your community into addicts.
There is no need for new content, Updates or balanceing with that method too.

That's surprisingly starting to change it seems. Companies that would normally be given a pass for stuff are being held to higher standards. It's nice.

Actualy for that much time he need to throw 3 times bigger update than CoBD and BAD.Something like 3000-4000 renders and no less than 100 animations.
Did we know if he still works alone?
Because for the money he get,he must have at least 3 people helping him.
Good example is how Mr.Dots and his team are doing an update each month with 1200-1500 renders and around 50-100 animations.Of course they are not same level quality as Stoper or even ICSTOR,but still all that is only for 1 month.So it's obvious that having a team helps a lot.

I am not really going to argu but I am designer my self and I think i can feel the dev, but I just want to clear some mindset ,

well the first is that Patreon if I am not wrong eats 30% of your income and if you are from america taxes are going to eat some amount of your money aswell.

so even if he is getting 20K at his best right now he is going to have almost 10k at the end now I don't know how he is going to share his money with his team but he is going to get more likely 3 or 5 k out of it.


now you mentioned why don't he stay at home and do it full time job .? well living as freelancer can be tricky and hard , if you are working at lets B or A plus game company , you have your career health insurance while living as freelancer you need to pay those things for your self,

I mean porn game industry really isn't acceptable by world community while game industry it self is, I mean do you know a family who sits and plays a porn game together ? but i can point out many families who play game with their children .


does Icstor can hire team ? yes he can , but does it worth it ? simply No... because his only source of money is patreon and Patreon doesn't give him much money ,

on top of that if he still making porn games as fulltime job he is not going to make much more because porn community is small

and most important reason is THE MINDEST , dev doesn't need to yell that I am making a porn game , but he has life right ? a family ? a kid ? so brutally honest , how do you see your self do you wanna be a guy who makes money out of everyone penises and be in silence for life time or you rather work in some companies where everything is settled you work your 8 hour time your insurance and everything is in placed. you have 40k$ computer with all equipment and if it something breaks they replaced it less than an hour you can meet some classy A rated actors and most importantly learn something new and create something that can be proud with your family for rest of your life

I hope you get the point there is no argu here , he can do it , he can deliver projects faster and other stuff but does it worth to quit his normal job and become freelancer designer just to satisfies your sexual needs ,

As some smart person said 100 pages ago. Patreon is about donating (like Kickstarter). You can hope for something, but you cannot demand something. You are giving money for an idea, you can hope it went well. If you are unhappy about the pogress, you can stop donating. But you cannot tell others to stop their donation.


BTT: The writer is some1 else and he has an administrative problem. As he mentiont he gets the renders and THEN has to write something. Not story first and after that the renders are produced... From this perspective the writing is pretty good...
