I like the Lust Epidemic model. A release every two weeks on the exact same date. Two animated scenes and some extra content. Like clockwork.

That is in addition to the work done from mid January to March (got 60% done in that time according to himself). And then starting again around the 20th of May.
So if it is truly released in early/mid October it will be more than 7 months that went into this update.

That's pretty much my opinion, too. I mean, has it been as long as the last update since you guys have rubbed one out? Go release some of that pent up tension and frustration and relax a bit, yeesh.
In a way it's a compliment to the game/dev, that people enjoy it and want more. And, the one area where they kinda have a point, it's been almost a year at this point since the last update/release. Even allowing the guy to take a break, it's past time to release something when there are a bunch of people giving him lots of money every month.

I'm still not entirely convinced that it's real, AFAIK (admittedly I've skipped a lot of the pages in this thread as it's 99% whining) it's only been posted by a single source and everyone is just copy-pasting them.
I understand being upset that the dev has failed on some promises, but being upset about it here isn't going to accomplish anything. If people truly want to show the dev that there's a problem, they need to cancel their Patreon subs. As long as people continue supporting bad practices, bad practices will continue to happen.
It's too bad there isn't a way to see who's *actually* supporting him on Patreon, and who's just here to shitpost.
I haven't seen anyone claiming to be a Patreon sub that's confirmed or denied this.

lol it's almost october, i hope it'll come out on my birthday tho (the last day of this month).
If they were actually trying to "cram in as much as they can" on a 8 month update it would have around 7k renders and 100 anims

Icstor basically never communicates but before this he followed through and had a pretty rough deadline schedule which he followed. I don't need much more then that I'd rather have that then the walls of text and constant communications from Gumdrop that went nowhere.
The issue is Icstor has turned completely scammy. Instead of doing the right thing and pausing pledging when he needs extra time and breaks promises he is basically saying you are free to opt out and you will still receive the update. Knowing full well most won't and he'll get paid 30K per month for missing deadlines.
He honestly doesn't deserve anyones support for how he has acted the past year regardless of whether he releases the update. With sites like these it allows patrons to be choosy to who they donate unfortunately patrons don't really hold these guys accountable.
At this point, he should just hire girls and shoot photos, you can make 1000+ photos a day like that. Is it a good idea by the way? I mean, instead of rendering, just hire actresses to build the story?

I've lurked here since the spring and this is my first post for this game. While i pledge to a few smaller games, personally i would not pledge to Icstor. I've read a lot of posts here (good and bad regardless if true or not) and mostly if not all of Icstor's developer notes and I can't help but feel a little off about this 0.6 update and the way its playing out.
I am not a game developer but I do sell my own graphic designs to customers and one thing I would not do is delay something with the intent of adding additional content on the basis of goodwill (ie adding neighbors to compensate for being inactive). Doing that does 2 things from a creator's standpoint, 1) Grants you additional time to finish up content not related to the new content because you know you're behind schedule, and 2) Further delays the end product because you promised new content that you haven't even started on. If it were me, basing this on how I determine timelines on my own work, I would have released the promised content and pushed the neighbors content to a future update (not even necessarily the following update).
I'm not saying Icstor hasn't started on the neighbors content when he announced the additional content, I'm just pointing out that based on the screenshot in discord today, he isn't putting a lot of attention on it given the time constraints he gave himself as that content is so minimal. I can't help but feel he is being a tiny bit dishonest because given the amount of work he set himself up for, it feels like he only just started on the neighbor content in the last month. However, he say the reason for the delay saying his rendering tool is malfunctioning. Whether its true or not, I can't help but notice he has 7k patreons and months upon months including the delays in development. That's not much of an excuse. He has more than enough in donations to acquire more than amicable tools to complete renders in a timely manner. I personally have professional grade tools to do my work (ie High-end PC, programs, art tablets, 3d and poster printers) and I make only a fraction of what Icstor makes via patreon. Granted, I do my work as a hobby and not my primary source of income.
While I'm sure Icstor is working to complete the update, I'm inclined to believe he isn't going has hard on it as he says he is. But thats just my 2 cents, what do I know? lol
