The policy for putting an abandoned tag on something is way too lax and clearly not fit for purpose. Too many devs are abusing the goodwill of their patrons and are simply scamming us. Has there been any response from the moderators or people running this website and forums? Are they working on rewriting the rules so scam devs can't so easily abuse their fans? At the moment it just seems no one in a position to change things cares at all. Where is the place where this is being discussed and debated, instead of just joked about on the threads of the scammer's game?
Why should a pirate forum regulate Patreon?

If you think a forum with 4 millions registered users would have no impact on a scammer then you need to look back at the time the abandonned tag was put on this thread earlier this year to see what it can do.
No, I was thinking why the fuck would somebody who started a pirate forum give the fuck about regulating development of any fucking game on any fucking platform? Nobody wants to discipline ICSTOR, get over it.
Also if you think there is 4 million of actual people on this forum... well... ok.

I'm fine with the rules for giving a game the abandoned tag, they could be better but they aren't bad. What I have a bigger concern with is how easy it is to get that abandoned tag removed. The abandoned tag should come with a bigger penalty, and be harder to remove. Maybe something like:
  1. Locking the thread upon the tag being applied to a game. This would prevent the game from getting further free publicity, and bury it on the forum. Say what you will, but one of the problems with this game is that this thread remains very active, and new people keep finding the game for the first time. Some portion of those new players become Patrons. The pipeline needs to be cut.
  2. Upon the abandoned tag being applied to a game, it should require multiple updates and/or posts from the dev to get the tag lifted.
  3. If an abandoned tag does get lifted, the game should permanently be on a short leash. If the time comes and the game deserves a second abandoned tag, then the tag should be permanent and the game should be banned. All future threads for the game should be banned/locked, no matter how many updates or promises made from the dev. Exclusions would be made on a case by case basis, but the burden of proof should be extremely high.
My issue isn't how long it took Milfy City to get the tag, but it should never have had the tag removed so easily. Everyone could tell that Incestor was acting in bad faith and just threw an update out there to get the tag removed. That sort of situation shouldn't be allowed to happen so easily.

I don't disagree with the principles of your argument, but if this forum/site were to apply judgement that liberally, they may be held accountable for actions they take (some dev may lay a lawsuit on the site for slander/libel defamation, for example).

Regarding your points:
1) I could see this, as long as there was a disclaimer at the top of each page stating the game had been marked due to the dev being incommunicado for the 90 day period defined. Then the new members know WHY they can't post.
NOTE - This should not stop sub-threads for games from existing so the game and its tag could be discussed.

2) I see your point, but who is going to monitor such activity? That is not the point of this forum. We are supposedly here to discuss the games, not require a schedule of release (see "Where it All Began" for an example).

3) If you change the rules for one dev/scenario or another, you run the risk of a discrimination suit. Again, not a risk the owners of the site would (or SHOULD) shoulder regardless of how we feel about it.

This place is where we discuss the games, and if necessary, sometimes their developers as well. I think we get a LOT of leeway in what we say quite often. But I don't think it's the job of this site to police the developers, since, unfortunately, "Caveat Emptor". Or for this game specifically, "NeverTrust Shitstor".

I know I'm pushing the boundary of off-topic here, but I hope I walked the line of answering the question.

This site didn't put the Abandoned tag on this game till two years had passed since the last update. It only got removed cause of the Sara update.
Dude
You are not paying attention.
The mods do not GIVE A SHIT about when it updates as far as when to mark abandoned. It gets marked abandoned when the shit stain developer goes dark and no post on Patreon for 3 consecutive months, then it gets posted abandoned.
He will make a post in the next week to keep the tag off here.

While there may not be millions of active subscribers, this site does affect his visibility, and sadly all of us complaining keeps him in the view.

I have proposed before that we just ignore this thread and let it die that way as a great way to harm the developer's bottom line. As it is unlikely that anyone will shell out the cash to actually prosecute this guy for theft and fraud, the best we can hope for is to somehow strike back where his poor anguished tortured soul, and emotionally snowflaked psyche is and that is his wallet of stolen cash.
Peace

Came back to see how people were here. Wasn't disappointed.

This may as well be a memorial post more than a game post lmao. I'd be amazed to see another ICSTOR update in my lifetime.
It sucks though, this was one of the first, if not the first, game that brought me to F95 and AVGs in general.

I agree with 2 and 3, but not with 1. Or have exceptions for games where the dev puts the abandoned tag there themselves, like Fighting It did, for example.

Come on, people. Do you really need an abandoned tag to reinforce the obvious?

There has been one small update in over 2 years, and that was just to keep the gravy train rolling.

Stick a fork in this game, it's done.

I only wanted to comment on the last bit. I don't give two shits about ICSTOR at this point. But, I wouldn't be surprised if there were 4 million on this site. World wide porn site will have people, end of story. Porn has driven more technology than people seem to realize. Betamax vs VHS battle back in the day? Porn decided the winner. DVD vs Laserdisc? Porn decided the winner. Bluray vs DVD? Porn decided the winner.

The trick is that, whether people admit it or not, nearly everyone consumes porn in one way or another. So, to think that 4 million people wouldn't be on a porn site, pirate VN site or not, is a bad bet.

I have two questions I'm hoping someone can answer:
1. On some scenes I cannot hide the dialogue/text/interface using the 'H' key. Is there a way to force hiding the dialogue and such? I've not had this happen with other games from this website.
2. Is there a way to keep the dialogue hidden always (except for when you have to give an answer)? The texts in these games are generally extremely poor and uninteresting. For instance, the game Duality has the option to hide the dialogue after you have seen it already (brilliant!)

Couldn't agree more.

Well, things are pretty simple.
First, if you take a closer look at statistics (number of messages, likes, threads), you will easily figure that absolute majority of of accounts here are not that active. Some four millions of users, and 6 and half millions of messages. ;) Some 90 000 of threads....
Yes, there are many of people who just lurk and download the games. But it doesn't change picture a lot.
Second, many of active users have multiple of accounts in use. Finally, there are tons of accounts made by various bots. I would guess it can be up to more than half of accounts.
Also, last but not the least, you have the people who just left forum, and didn't log for years.
Bottom end, this is a big forum, but not as big as you think. There is no 4 million people here.
