why?
Wanna know why?
Because many people don't read posts in the threads, they see the most popular games out there, then check out if they like the preview pictures, character models and decide to subscribe.

I mean, new person for example joins this forum and see in some popular games tag "abandoned" then he know its abandoned, when the tag isnt there then game in his mind is still getting updated like others and is one of the popular games because of its steady updates and other stuff that makes it relevant.

My theory is that the guy who originally founded ICSTOR sold off the IP and profile to someone. I think it happened around 3/4 years ago. The new owner probably can't even make games/assets. Most likely someone was hired for this last update to just create illusion that this project is still alive. Current plan is to maintain patreon income for as long as possible to return investment from purchasing ICSTOR profile. At first I conveyed it as far fetched conspiracy theory but at this point I think it would be the most logical explanation of what is happening. Most likely we are witnessing someone who has this panned out for years and makeing income of previous author reputation.

Nah I think the dev is just lazy and gets bored of his projects very easily, and the fact that people still support him even if he doesn't release any update just makes things worse.

And this is the problem with Patreon. No consequences for not doing as promised. If the site would force people to adhere to their promises this would not be happening so much now. There needs to be a ruleset for consequences. 3 strikes and you are suspended, etc.

The first post for this game is from 2018. 3 years. Unacceptable.

Currently I have a guy who I have subbed to for years, but he is NOT doing the two sets a month promised on the tier now. I have tried to communicate with him. So, after no replies I put my comments in public area and he removes them asking for me to not speak publicly about it. Clearly he is just ignoring me. I ask him 10 times to put the cover image in the set gdrive and over a month later he still doesn't respond or do it. NO consequences. NOT a way to treat your customers. I however haven't unsubed, so it's partly my fault for enabling it.

So, when devs are now days continually being lazy or just not doing the things promised, because it is happening a lot now, people have no one to blame in the end but themselves. Stop subbing and they will either quit, or start putting an effort.

Most devs, at least from the games I play, deliver on their promises, but there are a handful like Icstor that make crowdfunded games like this look really bad.

Not true at all. The games that do have the abandoned tag still get the same "update when", "nice work, when is the next update" messages from new users as much as this and other similar money grab projects do. People don't see, read, care or understand what the tags here stands for.

there were some previews of new game with hot milf .does anyone have?
Nope, those pics were removed as well as the whole Milfy Kingdom was abandoned before it even saw it's first real previews.

Plausible, but I doubt it. It probably went something like this:
  1. Make degenerate game to make a living
  2. Hit the jackpot
  3. Buy the things you always wanted (car, house, wife)
  4. Reason to make this game disappears: you have wealth, a house and a wife
  5. 3 years of desperate shitposting on a pirate forum is the only consequence of your actions
He's been clearing at least 300K per year (after 50% taxes and other costs) for 4 years, so a moderately smart person would never have to work again.

Or blow it monthly on coke, gambling and hookers. That's probably more likely.
