Can we put Abandoned Tag as his New Year Present ?
Be careful what you wish for parkerSo when is the next update??
Is this info available for his patreons? I wonder whether he will even bother with changing it to 2022 or he will leave it like it is to see how much more his supporters can endure.
Honestly, dude should be banned completely from this site. He's obviously a parasite of this community and we're helping him be one.I'm not going to harp on the abandoned tag deal, because I know there are strict guidelines for when that's used, and ICSTOR knows how to abuse them perfectly (except of course when he overslept or whatever and ended up with the tag for a couple weeks, forcing him to throw together an update to remove it).
But there really needs to be a tag for devs who constantly give fake deadlines to string donors along. He very clearly and concretely gave by-the-end-of-2021 as when there would at least be something. And back when he said that, it was obvious he was punting so far into the future that he wouldn't have to worry about it for awhile.
Now, here we are, a couple days from 2022. Anyone who's been following this saga knows he hasn't done shit, and that he's relying on the fact that 5,999 of his patrons have no clue about his history while the rest are buried under 400 feet of sunk cost fallacy. Shit, all he has to do is pop up and say "the update is coming out tomorrow!" every 3 months with complete silence in between, and F95 will consider it an ongoing project. It's an incredibly stupid bar to set since it doesn't matter how obvious it is that he's pulling a date out of his ass, or how predictably he'll fail to meet that date no matter how far in the future he sets it.
It is practically abandoned for anyone with half a brain, only simps still believe that anything will be released, simps and mods on this site for whatever reason.so is this game abandone or just very slow update???
Obviously because the finished game is coming out in 2021 and there's only 2 days left in this year...6.243

Nah I think the dev is just lazy and gets bored of his projects very easily, and the fact that people still support him even if he doesn't release any update just makes things worse. My theory is that the guy who originally founded ICSTOR sold off the IP and profile to someone. I think it happened around 3/4 years ago. The new owner probably can't even make games/assets. Most likely someone was hired for this last update to just create illusion that this project is steal alive. Current plan is to maintain patreon income for as long as possible to return investment from purchasing ICSTOR profile. At first I conveyed it as far fetched conspiracy theory but at this point I think it would be the most logical explanation of what is happening. Most likely we are witnessing someone who has this panned out for years and makeing income of previous author reputation.

And this is the problem with Patreon. No consequences for not doing as promised. If the site would force people to adhere to their promises this would not be happening so much now. There needs to be a ruleset for consequences. 3 strikes and you are suspended, etc.Nah I think the dev is just lazy and gets bored of his projects very easily, and the fact that people still support him even if doesn't release any update just makes things worse.
Most devs, at least from the games I play, deliver on their promises, but there are a handful like Icstor that make crowdfunded games like this look really bad.And this is the problem with Patreon. The first post for this game is from 2018. 3 years. Unacceptable.
Currently I have a guy who I have subbed to for years, but he is NOT doing the two sets a month promised on the tier now. I have tried to communicate with him. So, after no replies I put my comments in public area and he removes them asking for me to not speak publicly about it. Clearly he is just ignoring me. I ask him 10 times to put the cover image in the set gdrive and over a month later he still doesn't respond or do it. NO consequences. NOT a way to treat your customers. I however haven't unsubed, so it's partly my fault for enabling it.
So, when devs are now days continually being lazy or just not doing the things promised, because it is happening a lot now, people have no one to blame in the end but themselves. Stop subbing and they will either quit, or start putting an effort.
