He said something about 3 million renders and 600 hours of animation. Also all upcoming scenes in the patch are fully animated in 8k.

Just wait one or two more decades and it will once again become the golden standard for this industry. If you want to support his valiant efforts go to his patreon

Personally I think that waiting another 3 years for an update is too soon.;) I really think that they should really delay it at least further 2 more years to iron out any bugs and make it perfect.(y)

So in the meantime ICSTOR's Patreons should just keep....................

Sure but he will not lose (nowhere near) such amount of subscribers people will still blindly send him money, money, money.

there's a weak point in your story: Icstor at the bus stop. after all money he earned on Patreon, he can afford a Ferrari or a personal chauffeur, why waiting for the bus like common people?!:geek::WeSmart::ROFLMAO:

I'm a Software Engineer, last year I was working full-time on a company + a personal project on my free time.

Then I got hired for another, and since my workload (and salary) increased I stopped developing anything else.

I'd really rather think that something similar happened to ICSTOR, but he was (is) simply too coward to give up the "passive income" he's getting (by doing literally nothing, as definition). Not that he did it (developed the whole game until now) on purpose.

Anyways, I'm not trying to defend him. And also never gave him any money - I'd rather pay for the GOATs NLT, Runey and DPC (and GGN that has a great potential).
