Not the best way to go about things if he was to release another game I mean honestly if this did end up getting rushed after all the delays, would anyone actually bother with any future games of his? It would be a hard sell that's for sure.

No i don't have my own game but i did read some information about rendering from people who do have and/or knows about it.

Just doing one render can take some time from a few minutes to a few hours depending on the hardware involved and the type of scene being done. Usually sex scenes are the ones who take more time to render since they need to be more the realistic possible. With 2000 renders you can imagine it would likely take several weeks of pc working non stopping to get the images ready.

I don't disagree that sex scenes or any other heavy filled with the objects scenes take more time to render. I just want to point out how did he manage to jump from 1100-2000 in one month when his working rig hasn't changed. And based on what you've said these 900 renders are probably Caroline lying on the couch or Celia masturbating on camera?

Also you can't just slap one video card on top of other and expect faster rendering times. for iRay rendering the memory of the cards is not combined, the one with the smaller ram will be a cap for the size of the scenes that can be rendered. So you would either need cards with similar memory size or the same model.

I didn't know about these subtleties of iRay/
fyi, Icstor has 11 GTX 1080ti and 5-6 RTX 2080 ti.

And taking a break mid-development, was a best way to go about things? What about, deciding to add on to the already heavily delayed update, thus delaying it even further? Clearly, ICSTOR isn't about going the best way about things.
And it's literally what happened with his last two games.

If we're debating something, I tend to have issues with subjective statements offered as facts - not the facts themselves.

(And if that means I'm called a "White Knight" for not piling on to the outrage train instead of trying to look at things objectively, eh don't care.)

This is still shaming someone for getting burned out, essentially: having hit walls at work myself (normally putting in 70+ hour weeks), I can offer that after hitting that point the ability to concentrate at your same level of consideration, detail and even caring can be greatly reduced. That experience is what's informed my sympathy for ICSTOR's situation more than anything else.

So, you seem to be assuming that the Dev didn't perform to your expected level of type of project management after hitting their own limit of endurance. It also assumes that ICSTOR was committed to a new process, which may or may not have been attempted despite better intentions - we don't know. So, this is all subjective process critique on your part, i.e., armchair quarterbacking.

It's fine to offer ideas that could work more efficiently - i.e., render smaller batches for the writer to handle - but, given the burnout situation and the fact that we don't know if that eventually felt like something ICSTOR was comfortable doing (e.g., maybe he goes back and re-renders some scene elements based on new ideas that come up later in his process, so he wants to wait for more writing until then), unless he says what seems realistic to attempt now and going forward I think it's hard for us to assume we know his priorities on working the process any differently by this point.

Honestly, I feel those are less subtleties of Iray in Daz and more fundamental constraints: you can't let a scene go beyond the limit of your smallest card used in a shared GPU render, otherwise it gets sent to the slower CPU to use its RAM (which hopefully is enough, otherwise you're stuck.)

I don't think ICSTOR is milking per se, at least if he is he's not great at it, he turned his patreon to per release for the main part of his time off so i'm not going to criticise for that, neither the slow progress, i'll reserve my right to moan if i think the release doesn't warrant the delay, what i will bitch about all day long is the rolling back of the release again and again, it destroys my faith in the Dev and it's rough on him trying to match unrealistic release schedules, just slow down and do it right, tells us a date and surprise us by giving it two weeks early, far better than two weeks late.

I created a custom version of the game containing the following modifications/additions:

• Main UI adapted to multiple screen sizes/devices.
• Compressed assets (around 412-455 MB unpacked).
• Cutscenes/Animations can be disabled on the first startup of the game and in the settings menu (Needed for low end/old devices).
• Flash Effect (used during orgasms) can be disabled on the first startup of the game and in the settings menu (Flashing screens are dangerous for people who have seizures).
