I'm just adding onto a previous post, but these are dialogue caps of what you get with Kotone if you cry post-hypnosis session, and prior to her undoing any of the effects.

Downplaying your trauma.

Yes, my fox mistress. I surely did enjoy having my autonomy removed forcibly and then being gaslighted by you before you showed even a shred of morality for my well-being. I especially liked the part where, despite knowing that I was no longer "free game" for your area, you went ahead and broke the rules for your own benefit, thus endangering me further since, y'know, I don't know what you might have compelled me to do if the law came down on you.

Kotone isn't just a mass-murderer. She's very clearly a narcissist who regularly disregards the existing laws for her own amusement. She only relents as a result of possible consequences, and even has the gall to ask you while you are still influenced by her if you enjoyed it. This is akin to an abusive spouse asking if you enjoyed getting beaten every time they were upset.

Edit: I should also point out that while comforting you, she even goes so far as to blame you for trusting her. She outright states "you should really be more careful about who you trust..." before apologizing. So, yeah, again, it's the abuser blaming the victim for their actions. "I only beat you because you let me. If you simply weren't in the same room when I was upset, I wouldn't have hit you all those times!"

Do you need to beat Sophia to get all 50 points with Ancilla? I haven't unlocked it yet but I have all the stats to and i've done all the proper interactions multiple times (As said in the wiki) to unlock it.

Kotone... I do not like her because shes a cheat with plot armor and an iWin button. You can't challenge/sexfight her. And if it where not for the perk I would have not bothered to visit her again (outside from appreciating her nice artwork when she got one).

The plot was pretty predictable. Hell, Ilias couldn't have exposed her "evil plans" from the first chapter onward more blatantly if she were holding up a neon sign. It's that the writing is good enough that it works beyond being a porn game. Read: beyond being a porn game.
You predicted whole plot, including revelation at the end of a game? Because I dont.
I mean, in third chapter when she said "Kill her!!! -No!? -Fine, Il do it myself" it wasnt even a revelation for me. She hate monsters and whole game before that she appears with "kill monster boss" several times, so...
I predicted it to the point of "lets kill all monsters...", but not to the point "...and also humans".

If we wanted to scrutinize it, we start with an easter egg in Paradox where Promestein gives a TEDtalk on how more widespread acceptance of monster girls will inevitably lead to the extinction of the Human race.
Paradox still unfinished and it was released after original MGQ. And I never played it. So....what you trying to say here?

I mean, there is a guide, but also, that's one of the easier fights. If you quit around the rhythm game boss, yeah, I'd agree that it's bullshit. With Iron Maiden's second fight, though? I'm disappointed.
I played it
1) long ago
2) without tutorial/manual
And I dropped it because overall game experience wasnt that satisfying for me nor "hmmmm, what happened next? I should know that!!!!"

The game punishes you as Undertale does for killing indiscriminately
Yes, but again, you should figure out why what and with whom in shrift FOR EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER personally. Which means grinding and repeating same actions over and over to increase you stand with species, to trigger that specific cutscene variant, about of which you could have know only after you trigger that cutscene 'normally', without knowing about it. OR you just 'cheat' and use walkthrough.
While in undertale glimpse of what going on reveals in the end, when you already have some "are we the baddies?" doubts. Plus, its impossible to miss it, just reach the end of a game. And its didnt matter what path you have chosen, path of pacifist or path of war crimes, truth will be revealed in any case.

Like, yeah, I get that not everything is so clear in shrift on both sides of war. I remembered that moment when one demon killed another for refusing attacking you which you were talking about. Alraune if Im correct. But it raises more questions, especially if you previously became friends with that alraune. Dont remember exactly what questions, that was long ago, but I remember that I facepalmed til blood at this moment. And somewhere here I dropped it. Because eh..wh...ho...pf...sh....eh...pffffffff....hmmmmm.....shrift folder -> shift delete -> launch quake 3 arena -> "to win this game you must get more kills or frags than enemies".

Before deletion I launched game with complete pacifist save, just to make sure that its not me an idiot who didnt realized all geniality of it. But it make even less sense for me after I checked last boss.
What I defenitely figured out is that its typical japanees game with all "main" content hidden outside of main plot line. And Im also figured out that I not a lover of such kind of games.

I um... you didn't play Shrift, did you? I mean, yeah, the Lampas do do that, but a lot of the time it's milking farm or blissed-out submission. Getting corpsed is a rarity in the game, only because the demons understand that a Humanity on the brink of extinction isn't exactly sustaining your species long-term.
That was exaggeration. Game activelly tries to squeeze tears from you but present you not to the blind poor orphans but green dog with....how much??..six IIRC...human female breasts. Eh? I dont get it.

Is good to see this level of discussion on this tread. It gives the community deep and not the same "HehE SeX iS gUd So iSh oK" that others games i see have.
Regarding Kotone she still calls you her slave when you talk to her after you finish her relationship quest. After jumping on all hoops she still don't trust the PC and keep a leash on him.
I also remember a dialogue where she say that she gived her old hypno slaves to her apprentices as husbands basically giving a broken toy to someone else.

I'll stick with what i said. as much i love shrift, they fail when it comes to first impressions. sure, most of the girls here are kind of amusing and nice when you get to know them better. if you can forgive the fact they tried to do something to you, you didn't consent towards.

and about if Kotone is evil and a liar, or just a girl who grew thorns after a horrendous childhood. i go with the latter. i pity the poor girl and just want to help her. but yeah, she got some deep issues she needs to work out. frankly, i'm not surprised i'm forgiving her for hypnotizing me. if i can forgive Monika from DDLC for all the bullshit she did. i sure as hell can forgive this too.
and i am perfectly aware she danced around the temple rules, told the Oni-twins, and the blue one got quite agitated about it. hopefully the side interactions get expanded. they are my favorite part of the game.

i also hope the Labyrinth gets a "free roam" version like the other dungeons, even if it just boils down to asking the hellhounds "Ayo, wanna fuck?" (i bet Ceris (red hellhound) would jump you before you even finished asking)

That dialogue was about what she did hundreds of years ago...
Her calling you a slave is just naughty talk, Kaia will always call you a cum dispenser for example even if you bound yourself to her.
You too, seem to have no idea how compulsive behaviour caused by a trauma is. She really gets no choice in that matter, regardless of how safe she feels or actually is.

Lmao I can feel the rage as you smacked your clown gloves on the keyboard. Four days later and not only have you still not let it go, but this is the response you came up with when all other arguments were beaten. Even your first point was decimated when the dev admitted that the long wait wasn't due to coding the labyrinth. How does it feel knowing you were pushed out of your mother with a big red circle nose and size 20 feet?
I've been laughing for 20 minutes straight. This post is a piece of art.

At least those discussions help me realize I'm out of touch with the lore of this game.

Just a small question, but for you, considering all the monsters girls introduced into this game, who is ;

- The kindest Monster Girl ?
- The most evil one ?
- The most "neutral" one ?

Kindest: Tabitha is pure moe-blob incarnate. Gren is also very wholesome.
Most evil: I honestly don't think any of them qualify as evil in the end, except maybe a few of the "you only really interact with them as a random combat encounter" ones.
Most neutral: Venefica, who basically just wants to run her candy store and otherwise not interact with the world.

I cant go to the third floor of labyrinth. I beated 1 and 2 floor, then talked with Ushris, desided to leave for now, retirned to town, come back, and there is no option to go to third floor, i can only return to first or stay. Just to be sure, i beat second floor again, and nothing changed.
Of course i just reloaded previous save, but the issue is still there, if you leave 3 floor without beating it, you literally cant come back and finish the labyrinth, even if you beat 2nd floor again
P.S. Finished the whole thing, results are the same, third floor is unaccessible, only 1,2,4.

And yes, rhythm game fight is some bullshit. Even Sphinx isn't that bullshit.

That's not even remotely close to what happens. All the other bargests are still hostile, as are the other monsters. The barghest you do spare at the end of the first act of chapter 1 eventually becomes a helpful npc you can trigger for certain instances (looking at you Mu's section). Lampas actually

while the mantis monstrosity
will fuck off outta the fight if you spare her, and has some good stuff in her special room later one.
It isn't just a "join me or die" situation, either. Your character demonstrates traits that apply to their morality, and future encounters are influenced by that. Heck, I'm pretty sure you can't get Mother Rabbit in the recollection area if you outright murk her, and her story is pretty tragic for what is effectively a Nemesis character.

You mean your best friend, who joined the army five years prior right after you went into a coma and the demons invaded? Yeah, he's had time to figure out that there is a lot more nuance to this conflict, especially when that one Lampas

The game punishes you as Undertale does for killing indiscriminately. For most of the demons, they're trying to survive. Humanity hasn't exactly given them a fair chance, which, granted, they didn't leave the best impression. At the same time, you have the M.O.W.'s and characters like Mother Rabbit whom don't want to hurt anyone, but circumstances aren't fair. And Haru and Liz

And again, not gonna spoil Mu, but... man. Just. Wow.

Monster girl quest makes it clear through dialogue that it's a combination of survival and being outed from Human society due to Ilias that made the monsters aggressive. In certain instances (pro-coexistence cities), that's not the case, and those monsters are even peaceful. A lot of the monsters Luka does encounter are outliers, even in Paradox. I mean, a slime in Iliasville is going to find itself on the wrong end of a pike. In the case of Harpy village, they felt they had no other choice given the nature of the region's religious beliefs.

He starts out pretty opposed committed to the first law of Ilias, actually (don't lay with monsters). It's to the point where Alice rapes his virginity away and tries to soften the outcome with "w-well, I was a virgin too, baka!"

It's hard to narrow these down to just one.

Kindest is a split between Ancilla, Camilla, and the manticore. Ancilla is working to rehabilitate one of the contenders for "most evil monster girl currently introduced", and is working towards peaceful coexistence in general. Camilla actively tries to avoid attacking you, and if you do trigger her instincts she's remorseful when you next meet. And the Manticore may act cruel but if you end up actually addicted to her venom the she freaks out over what she's done to you, and she keeps a cure in reserve despite it being expensive just in case. All three of them make intentional efforts to help or at least avoid harming people who are strangers or at best acquaintances. Honorable mention to Nova as well, though sitting in her pool seems like something she'd do even if it didn't potentially prevent others from burning to death.

Most evil is unsurprisingly down to Sofia and Kotone, given their long histories of doing awful things. Sofia doesn't show any real remorse over the harm she's caused, but she does seem to be making a genuine effort to change her ways. Given her sheer strength and the fact that the Lucidian enchantment favors succubi she could likely oppose the current Demon Queen if she really wanted to continue eating souls, rather than quitting cold turkey like she has. Kotone, on the other hand, shows regret but is still going around hypnotizing people even when it's in clear violation of the rules. Kotone does have her tragic backstory but it definitely doesn't measure up to her sins. Both of them have done so much harm in the past that I don't think trying to compare them on that basis will get anywhere, so for me the deciding factor is their actions in the present. And on that basis I think Kotone is the most evil--no amount of sorrow over their past actions or apologies could ever begin to make up for their crimes, but Kotone has the temerity to act like it could. And despite that Kotone continues to harm others even if she had to bend or break the rules to do so, even though Sofia has done her best to stop harming others and play by the new rules.

Neutral describes most of the monster girls, but here I think there is a clear winner: Venefica who just wants to run her candy shop in peace.

Hmmmm.... You know, I don't mean to be "that guy". I honestly, truly don't. However, there's something that's been bugging me for awhile. A sort of curiosity, if you will.

If Kotone was a man rather than a woman, still a kitsune and with the same backstory and tendency towards hypnotizing people, would the people who are sympathetic towards her still sympathize?

If Kotone was...
Meh, it's useless to try.
Peoples have have pasts. In MGD monster girls are people. Simple as that. 'Suck it up' is the only anwer, including in RL

I'm really bummed Thresh completely forgot Perpetua, the best girl as everyone knows yet shily pretend they don't. I hope she'll play a grand part in the "True sigil" challenge, where we'll see what becomes of this Dungeon system.

How many girls have dateable romance routes at this point. I like some of the random fight encounters, but the best girls will be the ones who I can visit several times and see all their stuff. (Still waiting for lizard girl route kthx).

The only routes I can name (because I don't know much) are mika and the wyrm and I'm not even sure if those are actually complete.
