sigh another pokemon clone game
**Yes I'll be upfront that this will be another Pokemon "clone". The battle system will basically be the same. The only differences I hope to accomplish are different mechanics such as changes to how the Nature system works, Friendship system works, not heavy story focused game, among other things.
...I love the cover. It's a shame that that art isn't used in the game.
**Not sure what you mean by this. The cover is used in the title screen (albeit with a shitty resolution)
Most the art looks good, but it looks inconsistent style wise. Having a difference between the sprites and full cg is okay, but there's even some variation in the full cg. All the art shown in the previews have a different quality and even a bit of difference in style...Please try to use the same artist if possible.
**All the art is done by the same artist. Justus, Priestess, and Guild Receptionist look different because they are just flat color sketches (I ran out of funds due to Covid-19; if you're interested in reading more about the situation you can read the dev log found on itch). As for the quality, this is due to the change in engine which prevented me from using full resolution of the artwork and thus looks really crappy.
I found a Shiny Lupina
**Congrats. Will probably lower the radiant encounter since it seems too many people are finding them
Have any of you found a way to exit to title screen...
The game feels very slugish movement wise but im not even in the second Town so i expect to find some movement speed boosting equipment there.
The only 2 things that i found irritating were: You cant navigate the Menu with the d-pad on controller and the battle bgm is is so loud that i cant hear the attack sounds properly.
Also when i start the game there is this message in a cmd window that says:
"Some ressources of your project are missing !"
Can i just ignore that ?
**Not sure what you mean by you can't exit the title screen? Can you explain a bit more
**This is my mistake and will fix it in the next update by providing running shoes right as soon as you wake up from your Goddess dream. I did leave a note in the developers notes that shoes can be found after beating Rattusa but I guess people don't read that...anyways this is a game design mistake not a notice one so it's a priority fix for next update.
**Yeah there's no controller fix at the moment
**Will lower the battle bmg a tad bit more
**Yeah you can ignore that. I should have specified that it's better to open Game-noconsole.exe so that the cmd doesn't pop up. Will fix this in the next udpate by getting rid of the cmd executable.
Movement is unbearable. Like actually unplayable.
**Once again my mistake; shoes are available after defeating Rattusa by going back to the MCs house. Will fix this game design error by providing running shoes earlier.
...You only have a limited amount of capturing material so you wont be able to capture all of them. When you reenter the town to heal you will have to go through the whole dialog with the nun again (You can get the other scrolls that way though).
**Noted. Will increase spheres given out + shop will be open for next update
**Update available on itch fixed this and thanks for pointing it out.
...got it to work and the controlls are ass...
stay away from this game its a mess right now.
**Another error on my part as I forgot to change the graphic shown by the Goddess if you accept to learn about controls. f1 allows you to change the key bindings and f12 resets them.
**Even with v0.01, I will agree with you that it's not exactly great and I'm not exactly thrilled to have released the game with so much missing assets for what's available in game so far.
Where's a list of actual keys used by game?
How to make game fullscreen?
Any save editor which will work with that strange engine?
**There's an option to know them via the Goddess intro but the graphic shown is incorrect for the leftside.
**No there isn't and probably wouldn't recommend it if there were since it makes all the graphics look even more crappy. Working on increasing the overall resolution by x2 for next update though.
**The base game is done via RPG Maker XP and modified via Pokemon SDK. I would assume something that works with RPGMXP should work but haven't tried any myself.
so how much sex is in this and is there futa if you chose the female MC?
**Unfortunately only 4 scenes in total (cow x male / cow x female / chicken x male / chicken x female) and just a static shitty resolution. Once again I'm ashamed to have released it this incomplete but covid destroyed my funds for this game.
**Futa will be available in one scene for next update. None now
Question: Will there be any pokemon "breeding" and eggs in this game?
If not, will there be?
**Yes in the future breeding/eggs are planned; as of now, unfortunately that's will be for v0.10
Personally I love these kind of Pokémon style games, at least the idea of them anyway but one thing that tends to be a let down is the sex content, there usually just isn't much.
Obviously having a dozen animated sex scenes for 151 unique monster girls would be utterly insane but I think it'd be cool to have say...20? Who have more than one scene. Guess it could kinda combine Pokémon with dating so you have to win them over to be able to do more fuckery...Playing what's essentially just Pokémon to have one static lewd for each Mon isn't very satisfying, personally anyway.
**Yes the sex content for this version is practically nil and shameful to say the least. Any animated sex scenes are planned to be done via sprites a la Summertime Memories as I realized pngs will be too much. The friendship system that is planned will have you unlocking sex scenes with the Nymphs as you increase their friendship points.
As much as I love the idea of a Pokémon H-Game, I know that these games pretty much never get finished, and the fact that you can have both a male and female protag halves the already nil chance this gets finished since you are doubling the work you need to put in for H scenes. As promising as this already looks from screenshots, this will end up being a ton of work that my experience tells me to doubt the dev will keep up with. Best of luck though, I hope to get proven wrong.
**Thanks and yeah I will admit it's going to be a huge undertaking. I wanted to be different so I added the female option and now I'll have to power through with it. And yeah don't see myself finishing this 100% (as of now) but hopefully I can add a scripter and artist to alleviate the problems I'll be facing with updating and trying to finish the game.

You could check out Monster Girl Hunt. It's inspired by Pokemon, with various monster girls that you can capture, each of them with multiple unique outfits and scenes.

Updates are usually weekly/bi-weekly.
oh thanks i played this when it was new on here. sadly not much was in the game back then. it looks more updated now so i'll give it a try again.

Wow that surprises me, the hair and eyes are completely different styles atm (Especially for Justuce). I guess the artist is just inconsistent themselves or even the hair/eyes are a wip. Ah yeah, I've checked out more of the art on Twitter and the artist is just a bit inconsistent. Well that's not the end of the world. At least the characters look more like they all belong in the same game with the more finished art.

Hmm, I also read about the future of the project...I guess at least you're being honest, but I've gotta say, it's pretty hard to look forward to a project that you admit may not even be updated at all or any time soon. Welp. Sadness.

A TLDR for people in the thread: It appears the game is basically already on hold/in development hell.

it's still a new release so I'm not quick to judge, but this looks good albeit rough on the edges

Visually it's amazing, I had already seen quite a lot of devs using the same pokemon game concept but this is one of the best I've seen utilizing it. There's not much content, but it's 0.01, so it's understandable

Gameplaywise, there are a bit of hiccups. But as I said it is a new release. And it was already stated in page 3 of the thread that it will be worked on. But aside from that, I'll be looking forward to this game.

Between waiting for gen 4 remakes and my switch being busted this may be the answer to quenching my desire to catch em all.

Does this game have any reverse-ryona for the MC, and if not can it?

So, I don't know about everyone else but the level of detail when it comes to being a pokemon clone so far, to me anyway is an immediate seller. From the screens for the nymphs and the way the menu is setup and everything else it doesn't really need to somehow innovate on combat or mechanics personally. If they have original but lewd pokemon, decent art and a nice world? I mean at that point it's already pretty great.

Then on top of that you're going to add h events and all that fun? Sign me up. Honestly the other games, as far as I've attempted, tried to sell as a pokemon lewd version and then went way too into their own territory and never really seem liked the committed to it.

Also, I'm really impressed what they've gotten done with rpgmaker on this one in particular. I was honestly expecting just a barely refluffed menu and little to no ACTUAL Pokémon inspiration (outside of battling with monsters you catch, which lets be honest, that's cool but its not really the same thing considering the ease of use pokemon runs towards).

I mean, granted at the moment its a bit empty but its also stupid early in iterations so I'll be watching this one pretty closely personally. Now if only we could get a decent lewd monster rancher project that ISN'T horribly cursed to fail.

"the crest also gives the user an enhanced penis or an ethereal penis (for females)"
I hope this doesn't mean lesbian scenes will disappear.

So I was going to start writing my highly critical, very disappointed message based off of comments made here, but decided to download the game just to try it. Holy fuck. Where the everloving fuck do I start? The comments don't do this game justice. It's worse than I expected, and I expected awful.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

First up, movement. It's beyond a simple "missed running boots" issue, moving left and right are barely responsive. If I need to hold down a movement key for a second JUST to start moving, you're game's fucking broken.

Next, controls. Why? ZSDQ for movement? What the fuck?! Why is Z up? Why is Q left? This is beyond illogical, you can't even comfortably put your hand on those keys, it's like movement was relegated to the arrow keys and then whatever fit was tacked on for left handed movement. News flash, make your game easily playable with one hand, plus there's a secret added benefit because it's a fucking porn game. Here's the most common control scheme that RPG games have:
For left hand only - Z, Space for action/confirm, X for cancel/menu, Shift for running, Ctrl for text skipping, WASD sometimes is usable, but if an RPG game is missing these, then either the controls require extra buttons and use ASD, the single hand playability is mostly reserved for the right hand or the dev didn't consider single hand play. Finally, Q, E, C, V, Alt are all commonly used for other function requirements.
For right hand only - Enter for action/confirm, 0 for cancel/menu, Shift for running, Ctrl for text skipping.
SO, here is what I normally see in RPG games. These are even the default controls usually that come with a fresh RPG Maker project. Right vs Left both have their pros and cons, Left hand is normally not dedicated for single hand controls, though unlike left hand only, right hand has virtually no keys that are usable for extra functions. It's a case of complexity vs simplicity.
Personally, I use right hand for movement, left for all the fun buttons. I find it hard to believe that at least 90% of the controls for this game cant fit on either side though.

Damn, I went on for longer than I meant to for some stupid controls. Alright, now for everything else, since this can kinda be bundled together, and I'm just going to quote myself from another thread:
DaBouncer said:
I can't remember where I saw it, but someone on either here, ulmf or another forum made a thread that essentially covered "how to release your game".

The most important point covered imo was about "first impressions". You can never get a second first impression, and most of it will be with the very first build ever released.
You fucked yours up royally, so much so that the majority of people have already said "stay away", which is REALLY fucked considering the art for this game is actually gorgeous and the attention to detail is legitimately phenomenal. But you fucked it so badly you look incompotent as a game dev, even moreso when you yourself express disappointment at your own game's state. For a first version, first release, you're really setting yourself up for failure. You're on a lifeline via a budget when 90% of games made on here started as fan projects, made for fun or as a hobby during someone's spare or free time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you only have an artist, right? Where the fuck did your budget go? Even with Covid forcing you to dip into your savings, how badly did you underestimate the cost, because it seems like a pretty basic concept. In fact, most of the errors made with this game are basic. Rushed because "PANIC NO BUDGET" which resulted in the eye gory resolution issues and incorrect control explanation, poorly balanced volume, left in console executable with the intended way to open being renamed from what was expected, and everything else I've already mentioned. What even forced your hand into releasing it? You're not even seeking crowd funding, so what benefit did you gain by releasing it when you did vs a week later to test your own game and fix the in-your-face flaws? I can only imagine zero. Finally, the last thing I'll rag on, you could have, and should have just worked on the game for a few months on your own so it could actually have something to show, with shitty placeholders for the things you can't do yourself, then grab yourself an artist to give your game that nice look it needs to make people go "WOW I like this" and want more.

The only thing you seem to have done right is plan what you want ahead of time, since you could already tell us which update will have, or as I suspect, start the breeding mechanic.

This entire situation is a fucking mess, so much so that despite this type of game being something I so badly want, I'd be quite cautious and wary to give this game a second chance. I probably would some time after 0.10, but that rocky start, that first impression, that will never leave my mind. The fact I'd even think twice about trying this again is a huge statement, because this is the type of game that has resulted in me still hoping to hell and back that humbird0 one day returns to his game that he used to work on, despite the fact he's pretty much confirmed he never will.

Harsh? Yes. Necessary? Probably, I think you just need to take a step back, slow down, think things over thoroughly, fuck off the thought of having to be on a budget, for now, so far all it seems to have done is screw you, put the things costing you on hold, and look at the big picture. What do you want? How can you achieve it? Is it feasible? If it isn't, could it one day become feasible? What's important? What's necessary? What's wanted not by you, but by everyone else? Is it going to be draining and stressful? Actually, I can answer that one: yes. Yes it will. It always is.

I hope the developer doesn't get discouraged by the critical comments I've seen. This game has a lot of potential, and it's one of the few new games in alpha that I really want to follow the development of.

To be fair to all the people saying this game is unplayable, this is BunBun's first version of the game, meaning that as of 2 days ago, they had zero feedback and probably only as much bug-testing as one or two people can provide. The game isn't finished, give it time. Also, the developer already posted an update to the game on itch.io, so some of the complaints people had are already irrelevant anyway.

The most important thing about an early access game is the frequency of updates to the content, and the responsiveness in addressing and fixing issues to the game as the community brings them up. From the responses BunBun gave, it seems they are fully committed to both the game and the players, and the immediate release of a hotfix update to the game shows that they're actively working to smooth out the game's rough edges as development moves forward. It makes me optimistic for the game's future.

So much dev note I actually laughed lol IMO it just shows how much attention the dev has on this game so I hope the dev can stay motivated until it's finished :)

Give me futas, and I'm sold.
OK, well give ME futas and I'm fukkin GONE... At least give us a choice like someone mentions, futa or strap-on.

Anyway, this game has clunky mechanics and a really annoying keymapping. But it has potential.

I mean, just read:

To know why people are pretty sad about this. The project doesn't really have a future atm if I'm understanding correctly. Basically this is a proof of concept atm with no solid plans for any future updates. Dev either gets funding or gets a job or this game is already dead. He's mentioned himself that he has no art/development experience and he's just an "idea" guy.

I'm happy they were at least honest, but it's not possible to really look forward to anything here either. Agreed that this was a reallllly weird way to start off a project. I don't think this should have been released like this. First impression is super bad. Game is dead in the water before it even started. If people have to pay just for a chance that this could turn into a functional game, that's absolutely terrible. All the shit going on with the project probably should have been kept behind the scenes until it was time to sell off the IP or until funding/future content was more secure/reliable. Desperation right off the bat isn't the way to go about developing a game.

It has insane potential, which is why the critical comments are so important. The state of the game really shows that the dev is brand new to this gig, and if he can't get past comments like mine and use them to identify and fix what's wrong, then the game was dead before it started.

Does this game have any reverse-ryona for the MC, and if not can it?
**Actually it will. Don't think for next update (probably v0.03 or v0.04) but one of the next maps contains a group of villains that will "do something" to the male mc should he lose the battle. Obviously this will be a "big if" as I'm currently looking for partners to help the project move along.
I hope this doesn't mean lesbian scenes will disappear.
**Yeah I plan to balance the sex scenes for the female between using the ethereal cock and her pussy.
OK, well give ME futas and I'm fukkin GONE... At least give us a choice like someone mentions, futa or strap-on.
**Only female mc will have futa options for her sex scenes, none for Nymphs. Also a one or two boss villains.
I hope the developer doesn't get discouraged by the critical comments I've seen.
**Nah I was prepared especially with how I released the game. Been around dev forums and anonymous boards enough to know how harsh coomers can be when it comes to early games. My discouragement will come if I can't get a stable job to further fund the game or find partners after February.
I'm happy they were at least honest, but it's not possible to really look forward to anything here either. Agreed that this was a reallllly weird way to start off a project. Desperation right off the bat isn't the way to go about developing a game.
**It's been in development for two years and didn't want that to further increase so it was better to at least show what I had and hopefully get some help.
**I'm not asking for people's money hence why I didn't open a Patreon/Subscribestar or accepted donations on itch. I do plan to open Patreon if I manage to get v0.02 out with all the desired updates for that version but that's a big "if." I seen games with content comparable to mind have Patreon straight from the beginning but it's not my style to be that kinda dev; I'm also a coomer gamer that get's pissed when that happens.
**Yeah probably the first impression isn't going to be the best and might hurt the future of the project should there be updates but I was prepared for that and don't think the project is a total loss. If I do get the help, I can always prove the game had potential and correct people's sour taste in the game should they decide it's worth checking out again.
**Not going to use this as my main excuse but I think for a total beginner dev who's just an "idea guy" that I did pretty okay for a v0.01 game.

The dedication is very visible, don't get me wrong, and good on ya that you already expected the harsh coomers (I always laugh at that statement, though I normally only see it on 4chan) but the difference will show with how you handle constructive criticism. Too often have I seen a dev ignore useful advice or ideas just because the person behind them was "mean". If I rip into someone's game, I always try to explain the why and how to maybe fix it, because I just don't like ripping into a game, period. If I just don't like a game, I ignore it instead.
