If I download the 2.41 version in the OP is that decrypted already? And if it is all I have to do is copy paste the pre-patched translation files to be on the newest game version with the latest (pre-patched) translations?
Yes
And the pre-patch might not be the absolutely most recent translation available on the archive, but using it means I don't have to deal with whatever projects and decryption y'all are talking about?
Yes

I'd played part 1 a long time ago, I feel like I used to be able to check defeat scenes and/or character scenes from the library menu option. Am I remembering wrong or is there some key-item I'm missing that would allow me to do that? Was it a menu somewhere else that I was looking at?

Also do I have to actually lose to each and every monster to unlock their scene or is winning the fight enough to unlock the option for me to watch the defeat scene later if I feel like it?

It was moved to main menu.

Thanks, unfortunately that menu seems a bit glitched as I can't move up and down the list despite it working in any other menu. Very odd.

Ah thanks. Weird glitch. I don't really want to unlock everything just to access the gallery, ruins some of the fun. So I guess I'll just not revisit scenes until I'm mostly done with the game.

Is Paradox a sequel or a remake of the original trilogy? I am trying to avoid spoilers as I am still on Chapter 1 of MGQ.

It has connections to the VNs and also plays in the same "universe" (can't go into details here due to spoilers) but as timelines behave something went wrong and history altered a bit from the original. The rest is up to you. Imo it has a strong story like the original.

For the sex... well... like the original you will be able to find something for you but quite a bit is either disgusting or not your cup of tea.^^'

Honestly I probably enjoy this game more as a game, with light sexy elements, than an actual sexy game.

Most of it just comes down to the quality of the art, so much of it is just extremely offputting and grungy looking. I don't know whether the art is 'bad' or if it's just going for an aesthetic that I am not into, but certain encounters are absolutely ruined by their art.

THe game is alot of fun though, I like the side quests and filling out the library and playing pokemon (but you can fuck them).

Mechanics question: Do passive abilities like +gold or +capture chance need to be in your 4 active party members, or will they work if the character is in reserves?

it's pretty apparent but different characters have different artists completely, so different characters can give off a completely different feel. this also applies to the H scenes. I like the game, but i kinda miss the in combat grapples that were in the original. Especially the ones that had different CGs.

I can confirm that Gold+, and Job XP and XP work while in the backline. I just tested with Gold. I've had people wear the bondage accessories outside of combat while i was progressing in the start of my playthrough to speed them along. i can also confirm that the Encounter skills work in the reserves as well, as well as skills/Gear to reduce terrain damage.

Every single passive that has an effect on the entire party works both with the main party and the reserve ones. Use your strong offense ones for the active party and the nice to have stuff for people you won't use.

It's sort of a sequel, but not your conventional sequel. That's all I can say without spoilers, but if you are planning on playing Paradox and are still in the middle of the original trilogy, just continue and finish the original (despite my personal negative feelings about it, but that's neither here nor there) and then pick up Paradox so you can understand it better.

The alternate timeline plot device sounds like it fits very well for a game like this. Not only could this provide an opportunity to re-experience plot-lines from the original but also opens up the potential for different interactions between characters.

As for the kinks, I am actually not into vore, hand milkings, mouth milkings, and many of the others MGQ caters to. For me, it's the story and characters that make me keep coming back to the trilogy.

I am definitely wanting to avoid getting spoiled as MGQ is one of those gaming experiences that players look back on for years to come.

Will do. I will finish the first three before picking up this game. I am glad that I started there first since I almost always go for RPGM games and rarely play VNs.
