A story about a dweeb sitting in front of a computer in a fantasy setting could also work, you just need to find the right story to tell and how to tell it. That's kind of the beauty of storytelling : you can do whatever you want with it. Weak men, powerful men, dumb men, smart men... The more stories told the better whetherI like them or not.

The other guy was wrong on the historical aspect of things, but that doesn't mean "powerful warriors and heroes" should be the only type of stories told.

Also I'm pretty sure that "Omega" comes last in the greek alphabet.

Well even in AVN stories there are some "nerds who gets many girls during story" (Since we are on site tht is kinda dedicated to this type of content )


One other used trope is "College newcomer" of course

And yes Alpha and Omega ... Zeta is very close to Alpha actually

Why are heroes of many games, or literature from beginning of literacy, warriors? Strong fighters or even superheroes and that kind of powerful males (for sake of this)?

I'm actually more curious why there's so many Shotakun 14-year-old college-dropout sleep-rapist games. I blame Big Brother and Summertime Saga for popularizing them. Anyway, that was what pretty much every game was back when I started making Love of Magic, and so I explicitly wanted a character that was more masculine, honorable (yet still a bit of a perv), and didn't need to resort to drugs or hypnosis to get laid.

I suspect he's never played the game and never will; he's comparing it to other games (that he may or may not have played).

Part of the issue is that he looks at an Adult Game and assumes that it's just a Porn Game, and so the only goal of the story is getting laid. Assuming you have the

Adult games aren't necessarily about getting laid, though (unlike Fap Games, where there's no point to anything unless it leads to someone stuck in the washing machine). Sure there's porn IN them, but there's also a story about something else. MC in LoM and MS starts out quite lowly in the hierarchy of the world, and gradually climbs it; not just to get laid, but to help save the world.

So; by no means am I saying that the Heroes Journey is the only story WORTH telling, or that every hero should be the macho warrior archetype. It's just the stories I enjoy writing tend towards Epic (fantasy/urban fantasy and next up Sci-Fi), and heroes kinda belong there.

Will there be more "books" to follow BotF? Or do you just have too many balls in the air right now to think about that? I get the feeling that, like LoM, there'll be more content for BotF. There are so many options with the characters to still be discovered and others that are ripe for padding out. Hence why I ask if there are more books in the pipeline.

No, only 1 book planned for Morningstar. The endings are all kinda final, and it would be hard to weave them back together (Especially Path of Shadows, which takes place 10 years into the future). I do like the *world*, mind you; I could totally see myself writing another story set in the world of Morningstar, sometime in the future.

Next up I'm working on LoM Book 2 NG+ and Wings of Empire; will be fun to spend some time looking at Science Fiction instead of Urban Fantasy.

Hi Droid,

I'm not very active in on-topic threads here in the zone anymore. But Morningstar coming out from development process call for some special response. Yes, I am 2 day late, but I had some work which needed to be done.

Years ago, you created characters that we have shed blood and sweat with. Like with friends in book you never want to put away, we get to know them, traveled with them on path from young ingenue to battle party of god of war, overcome enemies around them and inside them. We got our favor like Emily for me, but we are cheering all of them for their own personalities. Souls you poured inside each one of them.

And when LoM ended, long time dreaded moment to put away the book and say farewell to our friends, eternal group of souls reincarnated in Morningstar to bring us joy for several months more.

But finally, the time to say farewell has come, not farewell, goodbye as we can return. Yet it is still some end. I want to thank you for the time you devoted to creating this band of heroic misfits and naughty heroes. For all happy accidents as well as for blind ends which you passed on your way to share as much of joy with community here. Many successes and few failures to learn from.

I understand why you left eternal group of souls, but I hope that "for now" can be placed there. It will be good for your creative work to work on some new faces and try new things with them. I just hope that you didn't make any definitive decision about our old bunch.

Is the Replay Scene functionality broken in the Steam release for anyone else? It goes to the first line of the scene then dumps me back into the regular gameplay after I click.

EDIT: It seems like most scenes are broken, but some are not, like Serra's 2nd date.

Well, the "kids" from LOM were planning a trip to NY... And they are characters that were only introduced, but no real adventure. Hmmm... maybe Hu Long (I think it is?) is Draco's daddy??? Where's Mauri Povich when you need him?

hmmmm..... technically speaking, the end of "LoM" is about 20 years AFTER the events of "MS" which means new york will have 2 WORLD ENDING CALAMATIES HAPPEN WITHIN 2 DECADES! .......not to mention this will be an alternate "world" because the 2 games take place in separate worlds/realities/whatever.......well, it could be interesting, now that i think about it......

FYI: The exact same issues happened on 2 different machines, sharing saves via steam cloud. I did use debug mode to cheat some str, chr, int, and cash, but did not use it to change flags. I verified file integrity in steam and I also started a brand new run after completely wiping my save by deleting the game saves in %USERPROFILE%\Appdata and I'm still running into the same issue.

I verified file integrity in steam and I also started a brand new run after completely wiping my save by deleting the game saves in %USERPROFILE%\Appdata and I'm still running into the same issue.

Yeah, I found the issue. Basically, the node it returns to (it's just a savegame) needs to be repeatable.

Most of them should be fixed on the next update; a few of them are using the *start* of the conversation, and those won't work until you re-trigger the save.

I checked out a little of that 'easter egg' and I Really like the premise!

When do you think there will be enough posted to the dev branch to show off early foes, combat and the differences between choosing strength versus intelligence?
