Others MUGEN Hyper Edition [v1.4] [HyperK2]

i have been trying to make this version compatible with this character but couldnt find a way to do so or maybe i just aint finding her. If anyone is able to please ping meI've been playing her but she's not compatible with most animations yet. You put the folder you downloaded into the "chars" directory and then copy its name, navigate to select.def inside data ---> MMMD edit it with notepad++ and paste the name into one of the empty slots then you'll be able to select her in-game.

To add a character you must use the folder data>MMMD>VSelect.exe, it's pretty clear from there. This should be added to the OP.

Go to the characters own folder and see what is the name of the .def file. If it differs from the character folder name just add in [Your_Char_File_name]/[Char_Def_File name] in you case.

With this you should get it to work even without Vselect as i was unable to get it to work and just used the old way.
In my image you can see red and blue one. The blue Annabelle works as the .def file has same name as character file where as the red one Eltina has .def file with different name and it need to be pointed manually.
hmm i have no idea why but its still not working, the worst thing is i got this mugen modpack as vanilla as i could (downloaded it and didnt modify anything) just to try to throw her in the mix. But im really struggling with including her and shes the one i want to see the most. But i really appreciate the help.
The game quite large so I don't want to re-download it every time to check but my guess is you probably put it in wrong place.
Look at the picture, I think you can only put character in empty slot, and the empty slot is here:
In the Def file, you can't put character here:
Because if you look at character selection window, those spaces is use for the big Avatar show up.
Instead, you must look for the golden hair girl under the big avatar (left of the red arrows), to see what's her name.
Then look for her name in the Def file, then put your character in the EMPTYSPACE under the golden hair girl.
Or just simply replace the existed character (for example, replace Ashimiya_Yu_Ex with hachisakusama SC). Then she'll appear in the Ashimiya Yu slot.
It it still not work, then sorry.
May I also get the Link to this download as well please.

How to add character? in 2 steps
step 1
1. get the new character folder, and copy-paste it into the 'chars' folder.
1.5. for example, i got mine from HentaiCharMugen.com, and it's 'Science_for_Adults2'
2. make sure it has a .def file (ex. Science_for_Adults2.def)
step 2
1. data > MMMD > Vselect
2. when opened, it should display 'select the mugen executable' in which you open the mugen like you would when u want to play the game normally, but with vselect
3. character selection screen appears in vselect.
4. click an empty, nameless icon, and change it into the exact name of the new character folder. (ex. Science_for_Adults2)(without .def) > ok
5. the icon changes into the character icon.
6. save, exit, done
there, now the character appears in the game and you can use it.
don't even bother with the wikihow's how to add via the
-- data > system.def or system.def.vselect.bak, it doesn't work at all

Well, Mugen actually have many different versions and their structure also different depend on who create/modified it, the wiki only can give you some basic instruction, usually the creators will include guide "how to do bla bla bla" inside their Mugen pack.
However modern Mugen often add new character/stage by editing "select.def" file, not system.def, so the guide not really necessary. And the *.bak usually the extension of backup file, it doesn't do anything to your game no matter how you mess with it.
When reading this topic, at least you should know this Mugen version also using "select.def" file to add character.

So, well, I did spend some time to download to test what actually happen in previous case.
You actually can add character in the avatar space in this Mugen version.
The actually problem is he pick wrong file. Inside game folder MUGEN-HYPER-EDITION_v1.4/data, there is a file name "select.def.vselect.bak", this isn't actually the file to add character. Even though the content inside is same with the actually file but it's just a backup file of Vselect tool. Therefore editing it doesn't do anything.
The actually file need to edit is "select.def" inside MUGEN-HYPER-EDITION_v1.4/data/MMMD folder.
If you do it correct, you can add new character anywhere, it's simple, nothing complicated. (This is just for test so I removed all characters)
Or if you're lazy just use the Vselect tool instead.

I searched up his patreon; it doesnt exist anymore. If you look up on kemono party and the available download for the actual mugen version, both download links was removed. Shame because it was a lot of characters.
I see some of horuakuti's characters, does anyone have all/most of them or knows how to find them? Or even the full res videos from him, i only got some old ones someone uploaded on mega
