Yep - every damn time I tried to play this friggin' game in the past!! Seeing the game now has cheats, I might give it another try though...
Oh god, this game is just so bad. Like, have the developer *ever* played a VN? Like, at least once? Or just MNF flash games?
It's just tedious. 5 screens for entering every place. Stupid minigames. Stupid required dialog options for PC's responses, if there are no different responses to choose from, just show the normal text as a response... Stupid fetch quests, which would be okay, but getting anywhere takes 20 clicks so...

Right?!? It's like he combined all the annoying parts of Flash games with all the annoying parts of VNs, ON PURPOSE! I'm seriously considering the idea that he might really just be a big asshole. Like the Andy Kaufman of adult games. He has just enough quality images to get you interested in the game, and make you want to keep playing; but his real goal is to keep you in a constant state of annoyance for as long as possible. Every time a new update pops up on here, I see the picture on the 'Latest Games' page and think, look at that hot chick laying on that bed! Then I click the link and remember, ugh, not this fucking game again; and manage to hold off for like 24 hours before I'm sucked into a couple hours of annoyance, all the while hoping to see more of the cousin.
You might have a point there. If I ever wanted to troll this community this is exactly what I would do...
And it looks quite good, so yeah, I was tempted by the picture as well BUT...
i think it's his first attempt at a game and it's a russian developer so expect a grind. it is pretty bare bones so far but the animations and renders are top notch. but a lot of these complaints are pretty dumb. plenty of games don't reuse old saves, and things like rollback shouldn't even be necessary when you can literally save scum in these games. you guys complain about this but have no problems playing summer time saga over again for the 14th time. x'D

I often use rollback to see what the other characters are asking me before I pick one of the choices I'm given, if the story is boring enough that I skip everything and just watch pictures. Here it is, but I can't do that (out of the box anyway), because someone decided a standard VN feature should be a cheat.
Summertime saga is not that tedious to play, I'd argue. If you play it over again you just skip and remember the choices. There's also one minigame in it which doesn't require me to spend two minutes solving a 10x15 memory game, taking me completely out of the story.
Edit: okay there are more minigames apparently but I played it last month and forgot them, which means they are not annoying enough and not good enough to remember

Any 'game' that have mini-games to grind to boost stats is annoying, and yes this includes both this game and Summertime Saga. You've never obviously done all the "Rap Battles" in Summertime Saga, nor had the annoying ass holds on being able to train agility (with it's corresponding arrow-key mini game) based on getting panties depending on what you have or have not done in the story, etc.Yeah, but why save scum when rollback is faster? So yeah, some of the games have a lot more stupid 'games' to do than this one, although I think the biggest problem here is not the fact there are 'games' but where they arer placed. For a porn game, a dev should NEVER place a game in the actual scene itself. Sure, before or maybe after, but never during, and that is the problem here.
honestly i've always thought rollbacks were bugs in most games and never considered them to be actually in VNs. but i think it's because i see these things as games on a VN engine rather than pure VN. things like stats and other counters don't get messed up if you use rollback? but anyway not to detract from this game's conversation, and i enjoy sts a hell of a lot, but sts has a million minigames. aunt's farm for money, mashing for str, rap battles, agility stat, computer minigame. the problem with the minigames in this game is the size. way too many matches for intelligence, and way too many item removals for the job.
for the additional clicks on knocking the door and what not, i want to believe it will affect some counter or code in some way. i haven't delved into the code to check for myself, but i think the author wants to make the game somewhat similar to how a normal person would act in real life. i don't mind that there's an extra click or two, maybe he has plans for the future where things might happe if you barge in a door.

Rap Battles i did a few versions ago, but I don't remember them being annoying much. It's just a case of learning which response is proper, that's not a big deal. The arrow keys combos... they were meh, but once again - that's 5 key presses whereas here you need to either spam click space/mouse button or play through the memory game, that's a completely another level of annoyance, isn't it?
To be honest I did use the mod to skip them last time I played Summertime Saga cause I couldn't be bothered to do it all again. For me the best way would be to have the minigame if you (the dev that is) really need to show off that you can do a minigame, but make it so I can skip it after the first time.
That is right. But that's exactly what all the crappy MNF flash games do, so I suppose that was the inspiration here.
There's a dialog log in Ren'py you can check as well, but it's more clicks to access it rather than to scroll the mouse.
Just take my example earlier - the story is boring in a game, but graphics are decent. So you skip through everything. When there's a choice in Ren'py you don't see what was the dialog just before, so scroll back a bit to see the question and choose what you want.I haven't encountered anything wrong with it really.
It's unnecessary any way. If you click on the gym icon on the map and load the interior scene without the "show door -> click open -> show opened door -> click enter", nobody will ever notice there's anything missing, they will just assume the main character came in through the door like a normal human being. It's the same principle as in movies and other media. If nothing interesting happens, you don't need to show boring stuff such as a character travelling from one location to the other. Just show him entering his car, cut to the next scene and show him as he exits the car in the destination. People will connect the dots naturally.
Same when it's closed. You don't need to show me the door, make me click "open" and then say "it's closed, come back tomorrow". Just tell me that right on the map and don't waste my time.
I have never actually played summertime saga but most games have a way to alter things one way or another either through cheat codes or using something like saveeditonline to change things to your liking in a save file. Any game that has rollback can usually be turned on using saveeditonline as some games come with it turned off so you have to change it's number to make it work. Rollback is good at times especially when you are playing a game that doesn't really have a save option like daughter saga where if you click wrong you have to start over wherever the checkpoint is located at.

Keep in mind that yes you can use the strength cheat to beat the wanna be boyfriends ass and yes you can use cheats to up the other stats and give yourself a bunch of money BUT what are you going to do when they add events and quests to the gym later on?
